Pluses and Minuses???
Not sure about them being overpants as I had jeans on without liner and they are fine but jeans with a liner ..a tight fit and I am only 102lbs and ordered a medium. Waist comes kind of low and feels like they would fall down but they don't. Probably if you had a jacket to zip to them it would be ok but I use a leather jacket. Kept me warm in 52 degree weather with liner and jeans. Felt a little air where boots ended. Bulky but hopefully once they are broken in. I do like them as you can always find things you like and don't like. If they keep me warm I'm fine with the purchase. Since I have a heated jacket and gloves I kind of wish I just went with the heated pants instead of these but once again they are fine. Makes it nice that I could just take them off if I got too warm right at the bike since I had jeans on. I wish the liner attached better but.....First pair of overpants so maybe that is how they are suppose to be but they are fine and I'm not one for anything that is really tight. Comfortable while riding but as soon as they arrived I took out the foam hip and knee protectors so I can't comment if the pants would still be comfortable with those left in. Just don't care for them. I wanted the pants only to keep warm later in the season.

Warm and dry
Rode in the rain in ~55 F weather wearing these pants with the liner in and jeans underneath, and I stayed warm and completely dry.
I purchased a size S, but I could probably wear an XS. (For reference, I wear size 0-4 in jeans depending on brand and cut.) However, the knee armor sits in the right spot, and the adjustable waist straps allow for a good fit on top, so I will be keeping the small. I wasn't sure if an XS would allow for as many layers underneath...
The pants and liner unzip all the way from the bottom to the sides of the hip, which makes putting them on and taking them off super easy. I was able to put them on with my riding boots already on my feet. They're a bit bulky when just walking around, but once on the bike, they are comfortable. I completely forgot I was wearing them!
Overall, I think these are perfect for commuting and touring in cool and/or wet weather. Where the pants unzip on the sides, there are Velcro patches to keep the pants closed, but which allow for direct airflow. This means they should be good for extra protection in warmer weather as well.

M J W: Truth be told, I saw the video and how the waist didn't go up past the belly button, and how FANTASTIC they looked on the model. I bought them for their style, features (especially safety, 2-way zippers, adjustable fit at the waist, grippy but so no seat sliding, extra inseam), potential fit through the seat and thighs (I'll know when I can put them on), and decent price for all that. Rania told me to go up a size for overpants. Fingers crossed these look as great on me as they do on Rania!Aug 14, 2014
