Scorpion VX-34 Helmet
Great Style & Features
I liked this helmet when I saw a friend with one. When I saw it was on clearance at RZ, I ordered. Thankfully, I read the reviews because the sizing chart is WAY off for this model. Based on the recommended sizing, I needed a large. I took the advice of previous buyers here and ordered an XL. It fits snug and I could easily wear a XXL in this model. I expect it to loosen up a bit as the padding breaks in as do most helmets.
Love the helmet, but buyer beware on sizing.

Amazing bang for buck, Scorpion is great!
I was wary at first because of both the price point but also the fact that these helmets tend to run smaller. I wear a Shoei Neotec in XL that fits very comfortably and isn't loose on my head. For the VX-34 I had to go to 2XL and at first out of the box it was pretty tight all around, but mostly in the cheeks and jaw since I have a squarish jawline rather than angular. I removed the cheek padding and wore the helmet for about 1 hour to make sure it fit, and it was much more comfortable after I removed the padding. The head area was very very snug but not painfully so, just a tighter fit than I was used to with my Shoei but that is possibly because of the difference in padding quality. In any case, after a brisk ride the padding started breaking in and the helmet felt great.
The build quality punches far above its weight as far as price is concerned. The outer shell FEELS good, not cheap like my dad's Nolan Voyage and the graphic print looks amazing in person. The air pump is kind of gimmicky but it does work well, I just have no need of it because my jaw is so wide it fills the helmet anyway.
It's ECE and DOT certified so hopefully the helmet holds up well in a crash but I haven't had the misfortune to test that yet. The noise levels are pretty much what you'd expect from an MX helmet on the street so consider wearing earplugs if you're going fast for prolonged periods of time. I didn't find the visor to be abnormally breezy so unless you are going up against serious crosswinds (which would mess with any kind of helmet really) you should be fine.
All in all, quite a nice cheap second helmet for when I don't feel like wearing my Neotec.

Awesome helmet for the dollar
I have a pretty oval head and this fit awesome. The pump system works pretty darn well too. Gotta re-pump it if you have the helmet on for a long day, but overall very stoked on this helmet!

Great helmet, but sizing chart is way off
The VX34 is a nice all around dirt helmet.
Pros: It is fairly lightweight, looks good, has aggressive / angular styling, and offers good ventilation. The peak offers a good sun shade and branch / roost deflector without being too large or hanging in your field of view. The paint is very nice. There is a removable filter in the chin bar to filter out dust coming in through the mouth opening. The helmet feels "quality".
Neither pro nor con: The air bladder works, but I think it is kind of gimmicky. I've never used one on any other helmet and I don't see the need for it if the helmet is properly fitted to start with. I'd rather save the money and space that the air pump takes up.
Cons: the rubber nose guard is kinda junky, mine was bent all up from the factory. It also seems to get in the way with goggles; though it is easy to remove. The biggest con is the SIZING. This is a common complaint if you read reviews on this helmet and I will agree with it. The fit is smaller than even other Scorpion helmets. For example, the sizing chart shows I should wear a L, but I actually wear an XL in a Scorpion EX400 and EX700 street helmet. With the VX34 I actually wear a XXL, even though the sizing chart calls for a L. I had to return the first helmet I ordered (XL) because it was painfully small. Be aware of that.

Great value for a helmet of this quality
I have first hand experience on how well this helmet works. Landed on my head first time I wore it. Works so well, I turned around and bought a second VX-34 Spike.

I bought this helmet because I knew scorpion made good helmets, i bought a large and it fits true to size, maybe a little small. It has sufficient ventilation and its very comfortable, it doesn't weight much so I don't feel like I'm even wearing a helmet. Overall it is a great helmet for the price.

This helmet seems comparable with more expensive alternatives
I was quite pleased with this helmet. If you plan to use the pump system, I didn't, you may need to go a size down on cheek pads. Keep in mind shell size is for the fitment at the crown of your head. I wear a XL Shoei Qwest for street, it took a XXL for this Scorpion helmet.
I was impressed with the build quality. A friend had a competing helmet that cost 70% more and this helmets really seems comparable. The pump system seems like a gimmick, but could be very useful for people with intermediate head shapes.
