Scorpion EXO-500 Crude Helmet

The Scorpion EXO-500 immediately catches the eye with its innovative design, enhanced by a superb sharp ridge on the underside of the shell. Inspired by its older brother, the Scorpion EXO-1000, the EXO 500 Helmet is based on GT philosophy and is fitted as standard with the latest generation face shield. The EXO-500 also integrates the SpeedView built-in retractable sunvisor treated with anti-fog coating on both sides.

Comprising 3 shell sizes and a lighter, more durable shell than its predecessor, the Scorpion EXO-500 Helmets will drastically change your expectations of a standard full face helmet. Featuring a very soft KwikWick 2 inner liner and triple density foam cheek pads, the EXO500 is also equipped with the revolutionary Airfit technology and a state-of-the-art ventilation system. Chances are, this Scorpion will steal the show from much more expensive helmets.

Features:

  • KwikWick 2 liner: soft, moisture wicking, hypoallergenic, removable, and machine washable
  • SpeedView retractable sunvisor: treated with antifog on both sides
  • AirFit technology: inflate and deflate the cheek pads to make it fit perfectly for a better fit, greater safety and shock absorption
  • SpeedShift visor system: enables extremely quick visor changes
  • EverClear no-fog visor: optically-correct, aero-tuned shield with state-of-the art fog-free technology and anti-scratch hardened coating
  • Advanced polycarbonate composite engineered shell: quiet, aero-tuned designed and wind-tunnel tested
  • EPS-lined chin bar for additional protection
  • Triple density foam cheek pads
  • 3 shell sizes
  • 3 year warranty

Great product for the price I would not order another helmet that didn't have a visor in it after this one. I have a large head but i had to order a XXL to fit my melon. Once you have your sizing down I see no other reason to order a different helmet. August 24, 2015
great helmet this is my second scorpion helmet. my previous is an EXO 500. this is a lot better than the first one specially I love the sun visor and the pump option recommend it great helmet would not expect any less from scorpion! August 19, 2015
Great winter helmet for me. Quiet and warm. Great vision, drop down internal visor very easy to use and gives great coverage. After having a "Shark" flip top this helmet is quiet and very comfortable. The only negative for me personally is the "D Ring" chin strap, I prefer the easy fastening ratchet style. Overall great value for money. August 10, 2015
Fits great & very stylish! I've gotten many compliments on how cute this helmet is. It fits great (as expected) & light. I can open/close vents & visor easily. Love that it has a built in visor!!! I would definitely buy again. My SO got the male version after I received mine as he was impressed with the quality/style as well. August 6, 2015
This is a good helmet. Good enough helmet for this price. It's comfortable, reasonable price, and got some cool features. The most awesome feature for the helmet is the crack setting on the visor, it's super useful during hot weather times. One thing that is bugging me a little is the noise level. Once you reach like 30 to 40 mph, the noise get annoying loud, but I did end up living with the noise and now I don't really notice it. August 6, 2015
Solid, small, imperfect visor settings. Overall, I am happy with this helmet but have 2 small things I have noticed given some time spent with it now. As everyone else has stated this helmet runs small, and it is primarily due to the very, very snug cheek pads. I have a small dome and had to size up into a medium for the first time in any size scheme in my life as far as head wear goes. Moving onto the "cracked" feature for the visor, I really enjoy it when I start traveling at speeds over 45mph for any extended period. However, this feature doesn't allow the visor to flip up or down until you readjust the lever again. Often I find that I will accidentally close the visor in the locked position and then unlock the visor after a second attempt. Admittedly, this is something that will improve with further practice, but I often find myself on my commute through town wishing for a minimalistic "open" setting like the "cracked" amount offers without having the entire visor locked into that setting. For example, when I pull up to a light and sit, I wish I could simply flip the lid up and upon take off return it to the cracked setting in one movement. The intermediate lifted position of the visor is worthless and simply blocks my vision. Simply put the visor has a marketed wide array of features, (quick change, cracked, intermediate setting...) but the different points where it is lifted open are too wide or not able to accessed with fewer than two separate motions. As a result I find myself purposely shutting the lid entirely, or riding with it fully open and only utilizing the cracked feature around the 55-65mph range on highways or environments where little stopping occurs. Initially, I thought the pump feature for fit would be more useful, but I never utilize it. If you get the correct fitting helmet I don't think it's necessary to need to dial in the adjustments to a specific number of pumps. The drop down sun visor is pretty nice. I had never had one, and thought I would no longer need to carry or plan ahead regarding second visors with more or less tint. It does allow me to simply grab the helmet and go without worrying about lighting conditions as much, but the drop down visor doesn't provide quite as much tint as some people may prefer if they wish to eliminate more of those pesky rays. As a result I have found myself often considering purchasing a separate visor with a darkened tint, but simply haven't wished to shell out the coin due to a setup that works "well enough". I'm happy with my helmet, but will be more picky about the different visor settings with my future purchases. July 9, 2015
A very comfortable helmet I was turned on to Scorpion helmet by a friend of mine. I really like my EXO-500, it fits great around the crown, and after I replaced the original cheek pads(39mm) in my medium helmet for one size larger(29mm) it fit like a dream. I have a thin face, and to have my cheeks pressed together hard enough to bite my cheek when ever I moved my jaw you not to good. After I changed the pads, though, I can now take advantage of the "airfit" system. Other than that I would choose the EXO-500 over other helmets around the same price range. I have an Icon Airmada as well, I use that one for my passenger. July 3, 2015
A good comfortable helmet with nice features for the price Been using for a few weeks thus far and am really enjoying the helmet. It isn't too expensive considering the features that it comes with. July 1, 2015
