Scorpion EXO-500 Crude Helmet (Size XL Only)
Great looking, comfortable helmet
This is my first helmet so I don't have much to compare to but I'm extremely happy with this helmet. The design is sick, really looks badass. I bought the neon yellow one and it is highly visual at night. I've had my wife driving behind me and she said its very easy to spot. It makes me feel good knowing I'll be easy seen at night. There's pretty good amount of air flow. I haven't tried it out in 90+ temps but around 70-80 my head felt pretty cool, and it wasn't too sweaty. It was a little noisy at first but I got use to it quick and don't even notice it now. Great overall helmet, no complaints from me

Is there a better value on the market?
I truly am beyond satisfied with this helmet. When you consider all the features, styling, and comfort for this price, there's no better value on the market. I get compliments left and right on the helmet and I look forward to wearing it every time I ride. I'll be buying a back up just so that I can have color options.

Cheap materials, not even worth $200
I purchased this helmet 3 years ago in Matte Black. I won't to too much into what's good about it but here's what's bad. After one year of use, the liner right above my eye brow came loose. The glue they used to stick it to the foam came apart, and was in hanging right above my eye, very dangerous). I sent it back to Scorpion's warranty dept. They "fixed" it and sent it back. Keep in mind my bike is my daily commuter so I was left without a bike for a week. Fine. Two years later, that "fix" came apart again. I took the freakin pieces apart myself and glued it back together with Gorilla glue (still smells in my helmet now). But all this is not even the worst part. I mainly bought this helmet for it's drop down shade and throughout the course of 3 years, this cheap slide down system they have kept breaking on my constantly. I am one of the cleanest, most careful person you'll ever meet so I take very good care of my belongings. A quality helmet should last you at least 5 years, not 3, even with all the babying I do to my gear.

Head Wrong Size
Great helmet, love the sun shield, good ventilation for the price point. Bad fit for my head, very uncomfortable (XXXL) with lots of pressure on the jaw. Decided to suck it up and see if the foam would break in but foam is winning.
For a flat black helmet the "S" logo on the front should not be chrome imo. Perhaps glossy black instead, style miss but no big deal.

Worth every penny
Bought this as my first-ever motorcycle helmet and I doubt I could have done better, even if my budget was $400.
Style is good, nothing super 'special' but that's okay
Noise is moderate. I need more volume on my Sena headset than my girlfriend does in her Shoei Qwest.
Liner and straps/pads are of good quality
Easily installed my Sena SMH-5FM headset, speakers and mic, especially when compared to my girlfriend's Shoei Qwest
Internal sun shade is SO nice...especially after watching people carry an awkwardly shaped spare visor with them to swap in/out and get scratched up in the process.
Sizing fit my narrow face very well, although I sort of agree that the air pump is cool, but I don't need to use it. Could be useful if you needed to loan your helmet to someone or maybe if your weight fluctuates up or down a bit?
Also, I appreciate that they use 2-3 different outer 'shell' sizes with the 4-5 different liner sizes so that if you get a smaller size, it doesn't make you look too much like a bobble-head doll lol.
Anti-fog tends to work fairly well and the 'cracked' position for the visor gets rid of fog immediately
Primary visor is easy to remove and install.
Vents are easy to locate and easy to operate
The internal sun-shade is pretty difficult to remove and/or clean, but if you don't ride with the visor wide open and sun-shade down, then it won't get dirty anyway.
As mentioned before, the 'cracked' position on the visor will not let you open the visor from there, you have to move the lever to the 'unlocked' position to then raise/lower the visor.
The 'locked' position on the visor... I guess I'm not sure what this is for since the visor closes all the way very securely without it.
Visor seemed to collect scratches/swirls/spider-web scratches easily, making night riding and direct sunlight problematic. You can remedy this by being very careful when removing bugs, and also polishing the visor with something like PlastX.... or just spend $40 and replace it.
Airflow is good... I can really feel the air moving up and over the top of my head, but there's not a discernible difference between having the chin and top vents open vs closed.
Overall I'm very satisfied with this helmet. It's extremely good value, but not cheaply made and has great features.

This Helmet is DOPE! I love the Yellow color personally.
Pros for this helmet are:
-Little red tab on the securing belt strap for an easy find of the metal belt loops
-Love the drop down Sun visor (wish it could be a bit darker though).
-The Air pump to help make a tighter fir is nice
-Quick Release Face Shield
-Lever on Visor to switch between locking visor, free moving visor and slightly propped open visor for air flow
-Air pads in my opinion feel better on my face than the normal helmet pads
Neutral: Helmet was a bit heavier than I'm used to, it caused the back of my head to hurt for maybe a 1 & a 1/2 weeks. My helmet before was really light though. Not really a Pro or a Con.
Cons for this helmet are:
When you open the 2 top vents, the wind 'can' cause a "Whizzing" sound which can be loud and annoying. Not all the time though. The Lower mouth vent make it louder as well.

My second Exo500
I like the features of this helmet, built in sun visor, cheek pump, works with my Sena Bluetooth units.

Great product for the price
I would not order another helmet that didn't have a visor in it after this one. I have a large head but i had to order a XXL to fit my melon. Once you have your sizing down I see no other reason to order a different helmet.
