Scorpion EXO-500 Ardent Helmet

The Scorpion EXO-500 immediately catches the eye with its innovative design, enhanced by a superb sharp ridge on the underside of the shell. Inspired by its older brother, the Scorpion EXO-1000, the EXO 500 Helmet is based on GT philosophy and is fitted as standard with the latest generation face shield. The EXO-500 also integrates the SpeedView built-in retractable sunvisor treated with anti-fog coating on both sides.

Comprising 3 shell sizes and a lighter, more durable shell than its predecessor, the Scorpion EXO-500 Helmets will drastically change your expectations of a standard full face helmet. Featuring a very soft KwikWick 2 inner liner and triple density foam cheek pads, the EXO500 is also equipped with the revolutionary Airfit technology and a state-of-the-art ventilation system. Chances are, this Scorpion will steal the show from much more expensive helmets.

  • KwikWick 2 liner: soft, moisture wicking, hypoallergenic, removable, and machine washable
  • SpeedView retractable sunvisor: treated with antifog on both sides
  • AirFit technology: inflate and deflate the cheek pads to make it fit perfectly for a better fit, greater safety and shock absorption
  • SpeedShift visor system: enables extremely quick visor changes
  • EverClear no-fog visor: optically-correct, aero-tuned shield with state-of-the art fog-free technology and anti-scratch hardened coating
  • Advanced polycarbonate composite engineered shell: quiet, aero-tuned designed and wind-tunnel tested
  • EPS-lined chin bar for additional protection
  • Triple density foam cheek pads
  • 3 shell sizes
  • 3 year warranty

The EXO-500 is a nice looking helmet I get complements on it usually any where I stop an get off my bike. I like the EXO -500, the looks an style of it the only drawback is that it's noisy. I noticed once I get above 70-80 kms the wind starts to howl. I don't have any other complaints as of yet for this helmet.i also like the fact that I can get different colour face shields unlike other companies which only offer a couple usually clear or tinted. Good helmet! I purchased this on closeout and I couldn't be happier. This helmet was more quiet than my previous $450 rf-1200 helmet! Crazy! Fit was great as it was the first small sized helmet I bought. October 20, 2014
EXO-500 West - First Helmet - Seems great for the money At first the cheek pads were really uncomfortable. I called revzilla to ask if I should order smaller cheek pads and they said that the pads in scorpion helmets are extremely tight at first. To the point where you are biting the insides of your cheeks. They said to take the pads out and wear the helmet without them to make sure the shell size was comfortable and if it was to put the cheek pads under a pile of books for a night or two. This worked out great, next time I put on the helmet with the pads it was a lot more manageable but still quite snug. Everyday I ride though it seems to be a little better. The helmet seems fairly heavy to me but as a new rider I think I just don't have the neck muscles yet. The sun visor is awesome, some people said theirs came with the light smoke visor but I believe mine came with dark smoke. The visor lock thing is hard to manage with gloves on while on the bike but being able to crack it open adds a lot of extra air(and noise) without taking away the eye protection. November 17, 2014
Nice helmet for a nice price I bought this helmet just a couple of weeks ago to replace an older Bell Vortex that I have been riding in for several years. I feel like this helmet has a slightly better build quality than the Bell, but has a slightly more narrow field of vision, and is also slightly louder. This helmet fit me very tight in the cheeks initially, but after swapping the cheek pads out to the "Large" it fits perfect! RevZilla was great to work with on getting the cheek pads to me quick and without shipping charge. The whole inside of the helmet seems well made and of a quality material. Another small negative is the small opening that you must cram your head through when putting the helmet on. Not a big deal but an hindrance. The sunvisor is a cool feature, but I feel like it is a little bit of a gimmick. I am not really sold on its functionality yet, but at least it looks cool. Seems to cause some glare... I was hoping for there to be less wind noise when on my naked bike (Triumph Speed Triple) but its pretty loud. So I guess I will keep wearing my ear plugs. The paint on this helmet looks great! the trim fits well and seems like it is going to stay in place. Overall I think this helmet was a good buy. I gave it 4 stars because 5 would be darn near perfect in every way, which I dont think I have ever experienced that in any safety gear. I will update this in a few months to let everyone know how well it holds up. November 10, 2014
Amazing helmet at at amazing price! Break in period was a bit long but the helmet works fantastic at high and low speed. Sun visor is a great feature. My only issue is that it is a big cumberson to wear with my glasses. Sena Bluetooth works quite well with this helmet. I am very happy with my purchase as this is my first scorpion. November 10, 2014
Great Buy For the price I paid, this is a steal. Great quality and looks. November 6, 2014
Good style, comfort and price This helmet is comfortable looks good and is very functional. My second scorpion helmet and I have to say they make great products at an affordable price. November 3, 2014
Good enough to save my life Good quality for the price. Fit was fine from day one. Noise level about average for a full face. Air flow is very limited. Most of the time I can't tell whether the vents are open or closed. Some fogging at stop lights in cold damp weather but opening the visor one click clears it right up. Removing and replacing the visor is a bit of a pain due to clumsy locking mechanism, but that's my only complaint (and it's a minor one). I have three helmets and this is the one I wear on all-day rides while my $500 Shoei sits at home. Bottom line, my head hit the asphalt at about 35 mph with this helmet on and I had no head injury at all. Helmet absorbed almost the entire impact. Felt about like falling on a thickly carpeted floor. Got right back on and rode home. I'm replacing it with a modular but for a reasonably priced full face, I'd buy this one again no question. RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Nguyen-Steven D: Great price with awesome features. Solid helmet with internal sunvisor. Fits my neutral head (not round or oval). Jun 27, 2014
Hammad A: After doing research for 2 weeks, I decided to go with the Scorpion EXO-500 because it's loaded with extra features that are expected of a more expensive helmet. All the reviews emphasized its solid construction, comfort, and overall quality.

I am also REALLY IMPRESSED with RevZilla's customer service. Even though I contacted them outside of their customer service hours, they still got back to me immediately and were very helpful! RevZilla will definitely continue to be my go-to bike store!

Shawana G asked: I usually wear a size small. Some buyers have stated that the fit is tight. Does that warrant going up to a size medium? Aug 1, 2014

Nestor V: I probably would. I will tell you that it will also depend on your head shape. I ran I to the issue of the opening being too narrow for my face. Once it was on it felt great. Hope this helps Aug 1, 2014

Teven C: I personally would go up to a medium bc it is kinda tight and if the medium seems a little big after break in use the air pump system to tighten the fit so it's perfect. Aug 1, 2014

Joe H: It is a tight fit, When the small came to me, It was difficult to put on the first few times, I was used to a Medium But the main thing to remember is after wearing it several times, you loose about 10 to 15 percent of the tightness, Meaning the padding gives more room the more you wear it, It's been a couple weeks now and the helmet fits just fine now. So if your already used to a small then I would try a small. The medium will fit fine at first but be too loose after a few weeks of wearing it. Aug 2, 2014

Myron G: My EXO500 fits really tightly. I bought a Medium, as I wear a 7 1/4 hat. I wish I had bought the large, even though I tried it on. The Medium never broke in the way I thought it would. If I were you, I'd try tghe next size up.

Just my opinion. Hope this helps.

A shopper asked: is this helmet snell rated. can i do a track day if its ece rated Jul 14, 2011
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
downrangeFuture: Yes it is snell rated. The 2008 standard I believe. If a track will take the ECE rating would depend on the track. Snell is a racing standard, ECE isn't even though they're fairly comparable. Jul 16, 2011
Reply to downrangeFuture Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
MotorOilMcCall: Most tracks will NOT allow any helmet besides SNELL. ECE is an international standard, but its not tested under race conditions. Jul 18, 2011

A shopper asked: Can a smh5 bluetooth headset work with this helmet? Mar 17, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The Sena SMH5 Bluetooth Headset should work just fine with the Scorpion EXO-500 Helmet. The bluetooth can be mounted by either the included clamp mount, which will go on the lower left chin bar, between the helmet liner and shell, or the sticky surface mount. Mar 18, 2013

RevZilla: The faceshield offers a blue shade from the outside, and offers a tinted shade on the inside. May 2, 2012
