I got this jacket and the matching pants for my cold weather riding set. The quality of the jacket is very good. There are a couple of slight negatives that should be mentioned. The collar of the jacket is fairly high and narrow. This may bother you if you have shorter neck or perhaps bigger size neck. This was almost a deal breaker for me as it was getting right into my chin. BTW the included gortex neck piece is very effective at stopping the cold wind, but does not have any lining so it will chuff your skin a bit. One more negative is that the liner leaves about 2 inches of unprotected space behind the main zipper. This actually creates an uncomfortably cold area behind the zipper. I could use the jacket without extra layers down to about 45F. Below that I had to add my heated liner. Both jacket and pants are made in China if that matters to you.

Incredible jacket, upholds the reputation of the Rukka brand.
This review is of the Rukka Armaxion jacket. I've worn it twice so far. Once for about 4 hours in 40-60 degrees(F), and the other time was 5 hours in 60-83 degrees(F). Both days were dry, so I can't speak to the jacket's performance in wet conditions. Although, the jacket is very well constructed(it is "bomb-proof") and the fact that it's made with Gore-Tex Pro 3-layer laminate, I'm confident it'll keep me dry.
On the cooler day, I wore a long sleeve cotton shirt under the jacket(without the liner) and was totally comfortable(all zips on the jacket were closed). Vents opened and wearing just a tee-shirt when it got warm the second day, I was pleasantly surprised by the air flow which kept me from getting too warm.
Overall, the jacket is somewhat heavy. That is to be expected given the materials & protective armour. But once you've got it one(like some other manufacturer's jackets), you don't notice the weight at all. It's very comfortable in fit and form(I'm 220lbs, 6ft tall, and 43 inch chest and 54 fits nearly perferct) and looks great. - Wearing twice, I've already received a comment on what a great looking jacket. Yes, the jacket's cost is up there. But you do get what you pay for, and this jacket is definitely at the top of the food chain! If your on the fence, don't hesitate on this one as you won't have any regrets.

Jan S:The Gore-tex is attached to the outer shell. Therefore the Jacket will never be wet in rain. My experience in warmer water is really good - the ventilation working perfect for me and it feels like the material it self is cooling. If you want a high performance dress Rukka is the choice. You can expect the Jacket to last for minimum 10 yrs with daily use.Mar 1, 2015
Eric W asked:How does this jacket compare in weight to the Argonaut? Is this jacket replacing the Argonaut? I hope not, because it doesn't look as nice. This looks like the same design as the Armas.Feb 10, 2014
Matt KStaff:I do not have experience with the Argonaut but the Argonaut has been discontinued by Rukka, I think it is fairly safe to say this is a replacement for it.
The Armaxion is a good choice for those who prefer a standard waterproof zipper instead of a LockOut Closure and want to save some cash and attain similar functionality to the Armas. The Armaxion also includes D3O Air shoulder and elbow protectors, an upgrade over the RVP Air found in both the Argonaut and Armas.Apr 30, 2014
Since initially posting this question I have actually bought the Argonaut jacket and pants from a vendor in Spain. They are fantastic. I wanted the protection from the armacor material and gore lockout closure, but without the heavy weight and numerous bulky pockets of the Armas. I find the Argonaut much more stylish as well. My only complaint, and this is true for most Rukka jackets, is that I wish that the collar was removable or lower. It is comfortable when riding since they really do well in engineering riding clothing, but off the bike the collar is a little annoying.

Matt KStaff:Standard waterproof main zipper on Armaxion vs Gore LockOut Zipper on Armas D3O Air Armor in Armaxion vs RVP Air on Armas Side & back vents on Armaxion Chest/Shoulder vents on Armas More Armacor + Talisman fabric on Armas (beefier jacket) Outlast (phase change material) included in liner on Armas
I am sure there are lots more, but those are what jumped out to me!Apr 30, 2014
