River Road Ruffian Perforated Leather Vest
Good buy. Definitely larger than size chart.
Overall average. Slightly poor bang for the buck from a purely functional standpoint because you pay for styling. Quality is average to good. Leather is light for the price, but again you pay for styling. Great compromise between a cheap plain vest & the $179.95 and $265 debadged and stripped models from (can't mention competitor) with straps.
Oversized if you go by the chart. It says S is 36-38 chest. I'm 37" and it billows. It's Med compared to the rest of my small gear too. I'd EXPECT it to fit loosened for a hoodie & armored jacket & carrying, or straps tightened without those... but it takes all of that to make it fit fully tightened, and with straps at the normal position it's ENORMOUS. I think I'll have the side panels removed to bring it to true sizing.
Good styling. Pockets are roomy, and it looks like it will flow a LOT of air out the back withing cooling your chest too much. You can see light through the perf on the back, not on the front. Zippers rattle. Could use the type where the pulls firm up and hold as you fold them flat. Could use strap or snap to affix the bottom waist like good jackets have. Could use zipper or opening in the liner for patching.

Nice vest for the price!
Good overall vest, great deal because it was on sale. Getting colours on today. I'm 6'4" 240lbs and the LX fits perfect. Can still get my leather jacket on under it for those cold days.

Hubby loves the adjustable straps.
I purchased this vest for my husband and he really loves it. The airflow is decent but based on what he is saying, the best part is that the vest is adjustable on the sides. For my part, I think it looks really good on him too.

The Good a fully adjustable fit in the midsection rides at a nice height on the waist so as not to buch up.
Like most vests provides rudimentary protection . Style is spot on feels comfortable incredibly light. River road products are hit and miss some are exceptionally well crafted and some are made of inferior materials I have had gloves tear the very first day I purchased them. and I have had a saddlebag that feels bulletproof and is holding up very well . this vest is in the middle I am slightly disappointed of the weight grade of this vest it appears to be made of 4 oz split grain leather and the stitching on it appears to be rather tight witch in time can actually cut the leather at the seams . for this reason alone I cant say for sure this vest is worth investing in. Time will Tell.

dollar for dollar awesomeness!
At first I was skeptical purchasing a $100 vest but I soon realized it was totally worth it. The styling is great the look the feel the finish all awesome. The side straps are great so you can get that tight feel for nothing to flap around. The only thing semi negative I can say is that the leather is not as substantial as maybe a heavier riding jacket or more expensive vest. But because of that it is nice and light. It's my first vest and yes I'd definitely recommend it.

Being former military I immediately liked the style of this vest. I'm 6'2" @ 230lbs and even with the vest zipped all the way up the fit was almost tailered feeling. Great quality leather. The air flow is outstanding. It is an exceptional vest for the price.
