I ended up going through 3 pair of Alpinestars SP-1 gloves before i came across these. These rev'it gloves truely do "fit like a glove", absolutely zero break in time required. As soon as you put them on for the first time its like they have been broken in for 2 years. Great protection, very breathable, good looks. Highly, highly recommend this glove and this is coming from a top of the line alpinestars buying guy.

I bought these gloves on Sunday, They shipped on Monday, and I received them on Thursday. Today, (Friday) a young guy around 18 - 21 was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer, and thought it would be cool to prove how fast his car was by running me down. Basically, I was going about 45 to 50mph and he came speeding up from behind about 10 to 15mph faster than I was going, waited until the last minute to switch to the lane left of me while in the process, clipping my back tire. My Ninja 250R quickly low sided sending me in an agonizing and terrifying tumble and slide down the street with my bike. I was wearing these gloves and a Shoei X-12 helmet. I did not even feel a slight bump to the head nor was my hands injured in any way. To say the least, they provided excellent protection for hands - I didn't get a single scratch. However, the stitching seam around the carbon knuckle guards popped open and the part of the gloves that covers the wrist area was ate through in a small spot around the bone on the wrist, leaving a very very minor scrape on the back of my right wrist. The padding that protects the side of your hands did it's job, but the leather that covers it was completely ripped away. So I can truly say that these gloves will protect you at up to a 50mph crash, but seeing how the leather was slightly torn through around the wrists, and the leather covering the padded palm and padded sides was torn through, I am not sure if these gloves would hold up in say a 60mph+ crash.
It's kind of hard to say whether they are built for faster than 60mph driving, since my crash was at 50mph. As for the rest of the gloves design, the knucle sliders held up EXCELLENT! That includes the carbon fiber knuckle protecter and the back of the finger and pinkie sliders. It's only the padded protected areas that don't seem like they would hold up at 60+ mph. As for my Helmet, if you don't have a Shoe Helmet, GET ONE! My head slammed in to the street pavement and then as my body tumbled and slid, my head slammed in to the curb a good 3 or 4 times, I didn't feel a single thing, my head was so well protected, I got walked away with not even so much as a concussion or scratch to the head. I was only wearing regular jeans, and a hoodie, which both were torn to shread within a second, leaving my legs all tore up as well as my lower back and left shoulder. I Can't stress this enough - I know good gear is expensive, but DO NOT SCIMP on your gear. Wear protective gear for everything from your helmet, to gloves, to shoes, to pants and jackets. Believe it or not, I was wearing Timberland boots which are not even motorcycle boots, but the leather is so thick on them, my feet didn't even take a scratch either.
So, to summarize, these gloves are definitely worth every penny in my opinion and I will be buying a second pair. I only wish the wrist protection was built a little better as well as the leather over palm and side of hand cushioning. other than that, excellent gloves that definitely hold up in a crash, but you will most likely need to buy another pair after you crash in these since the leather wears off the palm and side of hand areas as well as the stitching around the carbon knuckle protecter.
Comfort wise, these are the most comfortable gloves I have every worn or tried on. Being leather, they feel like they are already broke in from the first time you put them on. They do not however keep your hands warm in 40 degree weather or below. 40+ they are great.

I bought these gloves after I was somewhat dissatisfied with the fit and wear of REV'IT's H20 gloves. These gloves however are perfect. They don't make my hands sweat as much as the h20 gloves(i guess these are more "breathable") and they fit like a glove. Seriously I've never worn a glove that fit and feel as good as these, ever!. They are great for late winter riding(worn them when it was about 50F) and even summer riding. The only time i felt uncomfortable with the gloves were with the past heatwave that hit the east coast where temperatures reach near 100F. I would go on and say that these are 4-season riding gloves. Buy these and you will not be disappointed.

An amazing glove, extremely comfortable, usual don't even notice I'm wearing it. They look great and I'm sure they'll offer great protection in a fall.

Besides my Shifts, these are the first gloves I put on where they were perfect in fit and comfort. Breakin has made them slightly larger but they're still good in fit.
The level of protection and leather quality is top notch. I'm impressed with these gloves. So far only used on street, will be taking them to the track very soon.

I tried on the Icon Overlord, Teknic Excelerator, and this glove. Overall, the Rev It was top choice. It does fit tighter vs. the Icon, but is larger than the Teknic.
Haven't put more than 100 miles on with it yet, but for shorter rides it's very comfortable and protective.

Overall I'm very pleased with the SLR gloves from Rev'it!. I had intended to write this review last night but laid one of my bikes down on the way home. Thankfully, I was wearing nearly all my gear so I walked away relatively unscathed. The SLR held up extremely well in the crash (a low side at about 20 mph) and I had no injuries whatsoever to my hands. I'm completely convinced of the value of palm sliders; I've included a few post-crash photos (#1 and #2) below.
Aside from the protection offered, the gloves fit extremely well from the start, required almost no break-in, were true to size and the quality of the leather/stitching is excellent.
I've worn them for up to seven hours at a time and they never once felt uncomfortable.
I've used them in temps up to the high 70s and as low as the 50s and my hands never felt too cold or too hot. There isn't any real ventilation, save for a few small perforations through the leather (but not the lining) on the palm side of the fingers, so I'm not sure how they will perform in really hot weather.
I've only identified two small areas where the glove might be improved.
1. I'd prefer it if the gauntlet was half-an-inch to an inch longer. As it is now, combined with my Dianese Alien jacket, the gauntlet is just a bit too short to either keep the jacket cuff fully inside the gauntlet when worn outside the jacket, or stay fully in the jacket cuff when worn inside the jacket.
2. The leather immediately around the palm slider looks to be a wear area. On the glove that hasn't had any accident damage, I noticed that the leather is starting to wear at the edge of the palm slider from inside the glove (photo #3 below). Time will tell how well this wears, currently the gloves only have about a total of 15 hours of riding.
Overall though, the two nits above don't change the fact that, to me, the SLR is an excellent glove for the money and one which has already saved my hand from a nasty injury.
I had considered a few other gloves (Sidi Power, Teknic Xcelerator) but chose the SLR on Revzilla's recommendation; I'm very satisfied with the choice.

I was reluctant about the size but they turned out to be perfectly fit like other brands. The leather got so soft after some use which is very good. Highly recommended with a fair price tag.

SIZING INSTRUCTIONS

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements.  REV'IT! sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chestwidth: Measure from under/top of armpit cross chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
