To meet the demands of the 4-season daily commuter, we've developed a high-visibility version of the Legacy GTX jacket. The LEGACY GTX HV jacket features additional reflection panels and has fabric panels of EN 471 CE-certified neon yellow Polyester 600D at the sleeves, upper torso, and back, to ensure maximum visibility. The technical and safety features are the same as those of the regular version, but the HV version is available in a different size range, from size S to 4XL for maximum HiViz.
Outer shell: PWR|shell 750D with Teflon® coating, polyester 600D EN471, Cordura® 1000D ribstop with Teflon® coating, PWR|wax 500D, neoprene
It's exactly what I expected
It may be a bit on the expensive side, but I'm hoping the durability will be worth it alone.
The size is rather roomy. The american cut does not fit me well. I'm 6/2 and 172lbs. The jacket does not taper and therefor has a lot of extra chest room for me.
To call this a 4 season jacket is a bit of a stretch. I'm rather uncomfortable in temperatures over 72 degrees. I have only been using this jacket for commuting so far and wear it for about 1 hour each way.
At first I found the collar to chafe a bit but this seems to be going away now that I've worn it a few times.
It's 100% waterproof, that's for sure. I've been in mild rain for the said hour commute, and also in extremely heavy downpour for about 15 minutes. During that eventful cloud burst I had all the vents open. I never felt any water anywhere.
Because of the permanent liner, and the ability to be caught in a sudden cloud burst, the airflow is next to nothing. It's an odd feeling to have the waterproof lining suction to my body with all the vents open, yet not feel a cool breeze. The vents do help a little when it's 65 out, but anything over 70 and it's going to be a hot ride.
I haven't had it in cold temperatures yet, but the jacket does feel thin. I'm hoping the liner does as good a job as they say it does.
I do like the hi-vis colors and the fact that it's not the entire jacket. It doesn't look overly obnoxious yet I can tell people are not cutting me off as often. I really didn't think this would make a difference and it's possible that I'm just attributing being seen to the jacket as opposed to other influences. Either way, it's an easy way to add a level of protection.
The lack of outer pockets is starting to get to me. The two pockets are waterproof and I like that, but do miss having two more pockets on the chest. I went from from five outer pockets and two inner ones, to two outer pockets and one on the inside. It's taking a bit of time to get used to.
I would recommend this jacket but I'm not sure about the value at close to $600, It would be a great value for $400.

Love this Jacket
This is replacing another RevIt jacket that I'v had for years. I wanted a gortex shell jacket so I wouldn't have to to stop and up the rain liner in. This coat feels like it is half the weight of my other jacket, but twice as warm. I ordered up a size from past RevIt experience. I don't like full hi-vis jackets, but this one looks outstanding. I reallyy wanted a Klim jacket but this one was close to that class for a whole lot less and it included a liner. With the Klim you pay more and still have to order the liner. Highly recommend.

On the expensive side but worth the cost given all of the features and protection.
The jacket does run small. Use the Rev it sizing guide and you will be fine.

RevZilla:Yes, the SAS-TEC back protector in size SC-1/12 can be used instead of the Knox back protector but must be trimmed to fit. This will void the SAS-TEC warranty and expose the cell structure to water saturation but this is a common practice.Oct 4, 2012
AliB:The REV'IT! Legacy HV and the Dainese Gator Evo are functionally very comparable products. From a visibility standpoint, the Legacy HV has more HV surface area and more reflective panels. From a design standpoint, the Gator EVO is a superior fit and style. Both are Gore-Tex jackets with non-removable waterproof membranes, indirect venting and a removable thermal liner.Nov 29, 2011
