An Almost Perfect Pair Of Riding Pants
I'm a tall slim guy so it's usually pretty hard to find gear that fits my frame, especially when it comes to sleeve or leg length versus body width. I've been very pleasantly surprised by the lineup of gear by Rev'It, though.
The last pair of riding pants I got that fit my waist were almost the right length, but baggy everywhere, and loose-fitting protective gear isn't all that protective. Rev'it, meanwhile, makes a great pair of pants in the GT-R, and offering a 'Tall' option meant that I actually got a pair of pants that reach down my legs far enough to actually wear right. Plus the zipper mating with their line of jackets means I basically have a full suit, and the whole thing fits like a second skin.
The pants have shin and knee armor (and a set of velcro knee-pucks come in the box too), CE2 hip armor included and already installed, AND another armor pad on the tailbone, which I hadn't often seen before. The pants aren't -fully- perforated but have enough perf'ing in the thighs that I could still keep cool even through the pants and a set of UnderArmour ColdGear leggings on a warm day. Plus, if you've got huge calves, there's a relief zipper to expand the space at the lower legs, next to the opening zipper.
The one minor complaint I have about Rev'it GT-R pants is that the short zipper on the pants is outside the circumferential zipper, whereas on the jackets the bigger zipper is outside (and the small partial zip inside) instead. If both zippers were matched to each other's location instead of crossed over like this, you could double up on securing the jacket and pants together, and have a little less fumbling to put them together. Beyond that, though, I'm very happy with these pants.
Overall, Rev'it is a little spendy, but definitely worth the price.

Adam L: I bought the A-Stars leather track pant but they really agitated my knees when in the riding position, they rubbed a lot. Trying these out to see if they are more comfortable. Also I'm a tall guy. At 6' 5", 210, Athletic build I'm confident from getting feed back from other tall riders that suggessted the REV-iT line tall sizes. I'll post an update soon.Aug 19, 2015
John H: Previous Revit leather pants held up for three years, and two mid speed crashes. Most comfortable fit of all that I tried on. Honestly just want a shiny new pair. Will keep the old ones for rainy days or something.May 11, 2015
matthew l: i was hoping these would replace my tarmacs from rev'it, sadly they're cut much baggier in the legs, tighter around the waist. returned them and now having todd at heroic make me a custom pair.May 7, 2014
A shopper asked:Can i use this pants (Size 48) whit my jacket Revit Tarmac (Size 50)??May 9, 2014
Oliver D:I would assume yes. I plan to do the same until I can afford the GT-R jacket to go with it. Keep in mind the short connection zipper is only a step up from the hook and snap connection. Despite me risking it - a minimal connection like that isn't a great idea for the track.Aug 6, 2015
Nicholas W:I have the GT-R leather jacket that connects to these pants. I presume the Ignition 2 will connect as well. FYI the legs of these pants have tight cuffs. So they should be tucked inside boots.Jul 29, 2015
Christopher D:Yes, the leather jacket will connect with no issues to the pants. I have zipped the GT-R pant 50 (short) with the Tarmac leather jacket (50). Other than the pants being too short for me, both the short and long zippers interfaced just fine.Apr 19, 2014
By measurements I am a size 48 standard in this pants (. After trying them, they feel a bit too short, especially in riding/sitting position: my knee rubs quite a lot against the protection, and the back feels quite lose. When fully connected with the jacket (revit stellar), I feel like it's pulling it a bit towards my neck, making it uncomfortable.
I tried 48 long, and they feel more comfortable: knee is fine, and the jacket stays relaxed but connected. However, they do feel a bit longer, and I can see that in the extra material.
Any advice for which I should go for? Will the standard one "extend" more to make any difference?
