Reevu MSX1 Helmet High Visibility

The world's first rear-view helmet!  Reevu has been the industry leader in rear view technology with their patented mirror system, manufactured from a reflective polycarbonate material rather than glass! The polycarbonate material is almost impossible to break, weighs less than glass and provides additional safety and comfort to the rider. The mirror system essentially bends the light around the shell of the helmet, offering a clear view of what's behind. The Reevu System works just like a car's rear view mirror offering awareness of the road ahead and behind without making a conscious effort as both are simultaneously in your field of view.

Features:

  • Patented rear-view technology
  • Tri-composite carbon fibreglass, Kevlar and synthetic hi-tenacity advanced fibre shell
  • Fully removable and washable liner
  • Anti-fog face shield
  • The Reevu Mobility Program gives the rider  an opportunity to replace their Reevu helmet that has been damaged in a crash with a new one at just 1/2 of the price

Good Helmet Recently bought Reevu MSX1 Rear View Helmet & I recommend this Helmet to Brother Riders. November 17, 2014
Solid helmet, mirror is a nice feature Summary: good helmet, nice to have the rear view though no deal breaker on this incarnation. Decent value at "end of model" price, but might have been disappointed at MSRP. Key Feature: rear view mirror is fairly effective. As others have reported, it takes a little time to get used to, but it does the job. Getting used to gauging depth via parallax (the mirror is close to the eyes) makes this different to a rear view mirror in a car, but it works nicely enough. Note that the mirror moves with any light touch, so you will probably need to (trivially) realign it every time you put the helmet on. Aerodynamics: the ridge that houses the mirror system means there is a larger cross section, so cross winds are more noticeable; clearly, aero is best in forward/aft orientation: the helmet is stable at normal speeds. You will notice minor buffeting when you turn your head. Style: it's a helmet with a bit of a ridge and a very large logo. Clearly modern, but not remarkable; would not be out of place anywhere. Noise: perhaps a fit issue; with the visor fully down, the helmet is fairly quiet; once cracked open at all, it is somewhat noisier than I expected for a modern helmet. Fogging: the breath control is excellent, which means that I have never seen the visor fog up, even when riding in the rain; however, when I wear glasses under the visor, they are prone to fogging when I stop: it seems to be a byproduct of the way breath flow is controlled. Imperfect, but manageable. Fit: according to Reevu's website, I should have ordered an XL. I am a medium in most helmets, so I compromised with a Large. It is very comfortable, with light but even pressure throughout, so it *feels* like it is a fraction large. But it has not moved once, so I must have lucked in to the perfect fit, at about a size under my measured "correct" fit. Airflow: perhaps not optimal, would not be a reason to upgrade to this helmet, but better than airflow on almost any helmet from a decade ago! Weight: for me, a complete non issue; this is perfectly acceptable and lighter than the previous generation of helmets, so even if it is shy of the lightest in the current breed, it is perfectly reasonable. Excellence improving I bought a Reevu MSX1 about 3-4 years ago and was astounded by the helmet and it's features. Comfortable, quiet and safe PLUS rearvision! I have just replaced my old Satin Black one with a shiny new Blue Graphic (to match my bike) and the newer one is at least 50g LIGHTER! Excellent product, I will not wear anything else! novelty helmet noisy at high speed bugs chip paint off not worth retail price September 29, 2014
This s an idea long overdue I really wanted to get rid of all of my blind spots, especially when the bike is loaded with camping gear. The Reevu solved the problem. High points are the quick buckle, the inner padding and the rear view mirror. The fit is just as it should be with no slop and yet very comfortable. I would have expected it to be quieter but not bad, just not what I would like. The shield clicks in and out easily and has multiple open positions. I put a sun screen strip at the top which not only gives eye shade but give a darker back ground so you can see things in the rear view mirror better. They should include that in the clear shield. Good Helmet but rear view mirror is disappointing I purchased this helmet for the sole purpose of having rear visibility. The helmet does have a faint view of the rear, it feels the same as having the small rounded aftermarket mirrors that vehicle stick to their side view mirror. The helmet itself was very nice & quiet, one of the better ones that i have owned, so i decided to keep the helmet. If you are purchasing this helmet for the rear vision, you would be disappointed. If you are looking for a good full faced helmet, this is a good choice indeed. September 1, 2014
Runs small, if you're on the cusp go a size up The rear view mirror on this helmet is pretty awesome, and works great as long as you don't have a passenger. Definitely supplements my bar end mirrors exactly as I'd like. My only grips is that it runs small. I'm between a large and an XL, and normally squeeze into a large comfortably and safely. This one (at least without having broken in the padding yet) sits higher on my head so there's more neck-level wind noise. I'd recommend going a size up if you're in between like me. This isn't a track helmet anyway, so the fitting doesn't need to be perfect. July 28, 2014
Too heavy and loud. "Rear-View" useless on hight speed. My neck hurts after the thirty minute trip. A lot of noise with non-stock visor. July 7, 2014

allanoue: Get 6" way from any mirror and look at stuff behind you. It is not a problem. Objects less then a foot away are fuzzy for me also. I have had this helmet for 1 1/2 years. Aug 27, 2012
