RAM Mounts Universal X-Grip IV Cell Phone Holder
I am not sure what some of the people who commented that their phones have flown out are doing wrong, but it's not the device. I have a Nexus 6 and it fits perfect! I've had my RAM for 2000 miles going over bumps at 85 mph at times and I have never had a scare. Feet are secure with no extra glue or rubber bands, etc. I do pay close attention to how it's seated in the cradle before I take off. I make sure it's evenly gripped by all 4 feet and pull at it to make sure it is secure. I was concerned with the negative posts when I was thinking about purchasing, but I am glad I didn't listen. I will be getting an adapter for the car as well, this is the best phone cradle that I've had so far. Very happy with this purchase.

Hold iPhone 6 plus with survivor case
I have this mounted on my KTM 525exc in sm trim. I've ridden 200+ miles since mounting the x-grip that included a lot of wheelies, riding up and down stairs, decent size jumps, and some rough logging roads. It held my iPhone 6 Plus great with no issues, HOWEVER I did take the advice from the reviews I've read and superglued the feet down before using it. I also have a rubber band on one side for additional tension and peace of mind.

Failed during HIghway and backroad riding
I bought this mount to secure my phone to the handlebars for GPS while riding. Twice I lost the phone out of the mount. Once on rough backroads and once on the interstate. The second failure cost me a $900 iPhone. The mount did not break. It lost its grip on the phone and let in bounce down the road.

I bought this product to use with my Samsung Note 4. The tension is not sufficient enough to hold my phone securely. Any bumps (especially at highway speeds) will cause the device to fall out.
A redesign where the holder supports the device from the bottom might be the solution.
Truly disappointed with this item.
I do not recommend this product for the Note 4 or similar device.

Best mount ever
If you have a problem with this mount then I blame you for a bad install or failing to ensure your phone is secure. No offense to their bad reviews but I have a mount on a 2004 SV 650S and a 2014 Thruxton 900 and I have never had issues with the boots or the phone falling off (iPhone 6 with black leather case - thin case). I do not work for RAM mounts but I swear by them, best holder I have ever had. I use an iPhone 6 and it never falls off on freeway, bumpy roads, smooth roads, canyons, etc. I drive 50 miles a day for work. Very secure. I even use this in my Tacoma and fly over bumps with no issues. Maybe others had a defective item or a slippery case or something. I don't know but I recommend this holder for your phone. If you are worried get an otter box but it should be fine.

iPhone 6 Plus as GPS
I purchased this mount to use it when I need to have a gps on the bike. I have a 6 plus iPhone in an Otter case and this holder works perfectly with that combination.
It has plenty of gripping power and the ball mount keeps my phone in any orientation needed.
Do not recommend this if you don't have a case on your iPhone as it will not have enough gripping surface.

Is as advertised.
From what I've read some people have had problems with the rubber boots sliding off while riding and from looking at it I could see that easily happenig, but nothing a little super glue couldn't fix, now they're not going anywhere. I have it holding my S5, while it doesn't seem like the most secure hold it has held well for the 2 weeks I've had it including a few limited triple digit speed runs.
