The 1000v3 boot was developed with the help of Grand Prix riders and is a pro-level boot suited for any kind of road-racing activity due to its improved safety components.

Features:

  • Intelligent Safety: The Ghost Doctor protection device has been designed after the medically defined ‘angles of no return’, beyond which you would suffer from serious ankle injury. It limits the movement range in all four directions and becomes active when the ankle reaches a dangerous angle, making it an intelligent protection device that’s there only when you need it most
  • Increased Protection: The Exo Low has a 360° degree cockpit construction that wraps under the heel, maximizing stability and increasing lateral impact protection
  • Improved Cushioning: A small cushioning structure is built into the lower portion of the Exo Low to provide vertical impact protection in the event of a high-speed crash
  • The third generation 1000v3 benefits from ongoing evolutional change. The 1000v3 features flexible nylon toe sliders, a "Bifit" footbed with cut outs to improve flexibility in the forefoot, more flexible lining for easy step in/out, and modifications to the exo-low and calf protector to make the boot more able to withstand the rigors of competition

Style at a price First word to come to mind is wow! They're heavy to walk in but sitting on the bike the shin protection makes a comfortable track boot. They're pricy but worth my money. Just in love with Puma shoe wear and these don't disappoint. Definitely buy these if you have the money to spare. March 18, 2013
Love them! Hey guys just bought the size 8US. I wear a size 8.5US on regular shoes with 2-3 CM of space. These are a tight fit, but i suppose they aren't broken in yet. I love the confidence it provides me when i'm riding. BTW I didn't get the vented version. Pros: Stylish, Protection, Features Cons: Bit pricey, Can't find replacement toe sliders for them anywhere... November 14, 2012
Worth the $$, very comfortable Brand new rider here, CBR250R. Fitment-- I've been a hardcore Puma shoe buyer since high school so I've had about 15 pairs of Pumas. I got my usual perfect fit Puma shoe size (41) and it was extremely tight on my toes due to it being narrower than usual in the front. Had to exchange for size 42. Only put 50 miles on the bike so far but after riding the 50 miles and walking around with the boots on for about 6 hours, I have to say that they are awesome. While riding, I had good sensation through both the top of the boot, and through the sole. Never felt disconnected or numb to what was outside of the boot. Ankle mobility doesn't feel restricted at all, although you might expect it with the ghost doctor. When walking, your heel will hit the ground slightly earlier than you would expect with natural walking, but it isn't an impediment in the least. Walking naturally is (surprisingly) not only possible, but easy with the boot on. Not awkward at all. The toe slider on my left boot was loose and not flush on the boot but easily removed, reset, and retightened. Takes a good 3-4 minutes to properly and fully put the boots on, but I guess that should be expected. There's also a bar on here for airflow...I have no complaints as far as airflow goes, but I have notoriously cold feet anyway so I don't think I'm the best judge of this. May 24, 2012
Is heavy and bulky, but highly technical and has awesome protection I mainly use this boot for canyon and track riding either of which I do at least once a week. They are extremely comfortable and once you get riding, you'll hardly notice they're even on. I love the inner booty system with the speed lace; it makes getting in and out of the boot a bit difficult, but once on, they insure a glove-like fit that makes riding with them on extremely comfortable. With that said, they are a little on the heavy side and are a bit bulky because of all it's protective features, so walking around in them is a pain. When I first got them, I used them for my daily commute and almost got a cramp walking across my school campus (I'm pretty athletic, running at least 3 miles every other day, so factor that in when valuing that statement). I've taken them for a few spills on the track at varying speeds (20mph-50mph low sides) and they've held up brilliantly: there are some scuffs here and there and some of the plastic has been worn a bit, but they did their job and are still functioning well after a year. Also, I got the non-perforated version of the boot so it does get a bit warm during track days, but this was almost never an issue at the canyons or any riding but track days. At $400, is it a good value? I suppose that's up to the beholder. Consider, though, that at this price point, you're up against some stiff competition from Dainese, Sidi, and Alpinestar. Will other boots offer better daily commuter comfort? Possibly. Will they be lighter and less bulky? Very likely. Will they offer more protection? Likely not. Nothing short of Iron Man's boots will give you more protection than these boots. In summary: -Very comfortable during rides -Big, bulky, and heavy; not recommended for daily riding/commuting -Very good protection and durability -Non-Perforated gets warm at track day (but what did you expect? If you want more air, get the perf'd version) -Ok value (at $400 you're competing with Dainese Torque race boots and the like) January 20, 2012
Great boots. I have a very narrow foot, and have trouble with shoes/boots wanting to pull off my heel. These boots fit like they were custom made for my narrow foot. I couldn't be happier with these boots. June 28, 2011

I have a pair of Puma 1000v2 boots, but when I first got them the right boot was a little aggravating with the ankle being to snug, while the left boot fit perfectly...I know I am not the only one with this problem as I have read in message boards others complain of the same issue! So my question is if anyone has this problem with the v3 (if they have fixed that)?? And also I have a 7.5 size boot but I am thinking if I order a 7 in the v3 if it is to small if I could exchange them? Do you also allow me to send in my v2 for a discount at the v3? I know that last question is a stretch lol but some stores do so it doesn't hurt to ask!!! Thank you and please reply asap!

Answer: 
Most people's feet are actually not symmetrical. While the boots should fit the same, your feet may feel different in the left versus the right. It is very difficult to predict how this will feel on your foot, however, we are happy to exchange them as long as they return in new condition.

Unfortunately, we don't have any promotions on the v2 for v3 offer at this time.
