The 1000v2 boot was developed with the help of Grand Prix riders and is a pro-level boot suited for any kind of road racing activity due to it's improved safety components.

Features:
  • Intelligent Safety: The Ghost Doctor protection device has been designed after the medically defined "angles of no return", beyond which you would suffer from ankle injury. It limits the movement range in all four directions and becomes active when the ankle reaches a dangerous angle, making it an intelligent protection device that's only there when you need it
  • Increased Protection: The Exo Low has a 360-degree cockpit construction that wraps under the heal, maximizing stability and increasing lateral impact protection
  • Improved Cushioning: A small cushioning structure is built into the lower portion of the Exo Low to provide verticalimpact protection in the event of a high speed crash
  • Comfort Zones: Additional comfort zone areas in the shin and calf are constructed of mesh and foam padding for that extra snug fit

Great Track Boot Took my new Pumas to the track for the first time this weekend. Overall I am really happy with these boots and would recommend to anyone but there are a few things worth mentioning to anyone interested in purchasing a pair. A couple of Quick Notes: 1. Size - The reviews are right they run about a half size small. I ordered a Euro 45 (US 11-1/2) and it fits my US 10-1/2 EE width foot slightly long but perfect width. The boots are very comfortable to ride and even walk in. Getting them off your foot requires some work even with everything unstrapped but that's a good thing. 2. Weight - Yes they are heavy but you really don't notice it on the bike at all because of the nice natural ankle movement. 3. Color - that near black looking stripe and back panel is really more of a charcoal grey in reality, not a problem still a great looking boot but was a bit surprising when I took them out of the box. 4. Exclusive - No one else at the track had a pair of these! 5. Latch - Can be a little clumsy to adjust and thread the strap through especially with gloves on. Great range of adjustment and the inner boot cinch is pure genius. You have to be careful to slide the rear upper under the front upper to fit correctly and strap up easily which is easy to get wrong if you don't pay attention. 6. Sole - gives great grip and feel on the pegs. 7. Protection - Really Solid well thought out boot would put this up against any other boot out there. February 16, 2012

Best protection for your feet They are pretty stiff initially, but after breaking them in, they are the best boots ever. Cheaper than the Sidis, but just as protective. February 13, 2011
Safe Stylish yet Heavy I have to say that this boot is more track than daily riding. Cons: One of the biggest for me is the weight of the boot each one is approximately 3.5 pounds which is fairly heavy. The ankle support has to be broken in it can become annoying if u have to walk in them. They fit small so you want to go up at least one size. Boot feels very secure. Definately a head turner. Ive only had the boots for a month so im sure i need more time to break them in. Overall this is a really solid track boot. April 19, 2010
Great Boots! These boots are so comfortable and have great ankle support. They fit snug, but good for trackdays and racing. I love them October 27, 2009

Answer: 
The Puma 1000 V2 Boots are not waterproof so we would recommend looking at the Puma Desmo GTX Boots for a waterproof alternative.
