I would not recommend this product.
The powerlet failed after one day of riding. I had it charging my I phone 6 and noticed that the phone was cycling on and off only to find that the powerlet light was flickering indicating the power to the phone was intermittent. I ride a 2015 BMW R1200 GSA. I would not recommend this product.

Does what it says.
I purchased this to power a GPS and charge my phone at the same time. It is very convenient to have two USB ports on the bike. The only issue I found is that it mounts at an angle, which on my bike may interfere with the bars if I point it forward. Other than that ti works great.

Does the job.
I just got this and used it to charge my iPhone wile riding. It did the job but my only complaint is.
Its a sloppy fit into the power port on my Bmw F800 gsa.
Felt loose and lost connection a couple times. I was expecting it to snap in.

Intermittent power
I bought this item from a dealer (not Revzilla) to charge my cell phone and intercom on my 2015 BMW R1200GSAW. Although the build quality appears good and it feels like the adapter snaps into my DIN outlet positively, the adapter does not make a good connection. Further, the red LED is not visible from the riding position due to the odd angle of the adapter combined with the angle of the outlet on the motorcycle so I cannot tell if I am charging our not. Great idea, terrible execution.

Worked for a less than a minute.
Was looking forward to keeping my phone charged on a recent trip. Bought the dual adapter. Plugged it into the motorcycles Powerlet outlet. The red light came on. The light went out promptly on starting. Failed to charge. Returned to local dealer.

stopped working after 12 months.
I expected the adapter to work for more than 12 months. Started failing intermittently on a 7 day ride. i got it to work by twisting it to pick up different contact points. It failed completely 2 weeks later.

Do not buy unless you like to gamble.
Bought it for my 2015 Tiger 800 to power a GPS. I could only get it to power up for a moment if I wiggled it around for a while. Obviously not a good thing. Sorry this is made in the USA. I guess from the reviews it's hit or miss.

P.S. Wrong bike as my ride.

Worked for a bit...
I've had this device for some time now. When I first received it, I had issues connecting it to my 12 Tiger Explorer. It seemed the - leads (looks like a flower petal) didn't have any tensile strength, and were not connecting to the outside of the socket on the bike. As a result, the device wouldn't seat securely and would constantly lose power.

Being an armchair engineer (aren't we all?), I came up with a solution which was to use part of a small rubber band in between the leads and the plastic sheathing on the post which insulates the + leads. This worked brilliantly in providing a secure connection for a grand total of one motorcycling adventure.

After just one use, I find myself unable to get the device to connect to the outlet at all. I have tried new rubber bands, bending the - leads on the device out, bending the leads on socket on the bike in... all to no avail.

My trusty voltmeter shows power from the battery to the leads on the inside of the socket, but no power in the device. I think I will try an SAE style adapter next, no questions on a solid connection with that.

Mini power farkles FTW
Great charger, snaps in solidly to my 1996 BMW's power port and keeps my phone charged while running my nav and music apps. It doesn't interfere with the dash rocker switches or the handlebar. The LED is always on, but the current drain is negligible and looks like a security warning, so that's cool.

Does the job.
3" long, could be shorter I think. Price commensurate with quality it seems. Owned it for three months, leave it plugged into my bike at all times. No ill affects yet. Awkward angle for my setup, 2012 KTM 990 ADV R with powerlets on triple clamp.

I needed a powerlet adapter for an existing connection on my ST1300 Honda. I like the convenience of having two usb charging units in one, I could charge my phone and have a secondary GPS unit as well. I like the firm connection of the powerlet which delivers consistent power.

Hi,does it fit in the plug of the f800gs that is next to the keyd switch?
A shopper on Feb 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I tried this recently on my 1200GS WC. I have two powerlet outlets on my bike, one factory fitted for the GPS and second one under the seat installed by the dealership. This Adapter was loose in both powerlets and required some wiggling to make the contacts for it to work. With all the vibration during the ride this would have never worked for me. Both powerlet outlets on the bikes were never used before so it was kind of strange this adapter behaved this way.
Is anyone having trouble charging a Samsung Galaxy S5 or newer phone? I have tried different USB cables and can't get it to charge. I have no issues charging other devices, even my older Galaxy S3, Garmin GPS and others. It's just the S5 that does not charge from the Powerlet for some reason. Could it be the pin configuration?

Thanks,

JLH

BEST ANSWER: Don't know about the Samsung, but my Powerlet adapter has no trouble with my iPhone 6. Have you tried both USB connectors, I think they have different outputs.
