Excellent!
This is an excellent product and a must have if you go on long rides. Quality is good and installation is a breeze. I suggest ordering the 48" if you plan on routing the wire to the handlebar. The other one would have been way too short for my bike(Yamaha FZ8). But, I suppose that will depend on what bike you have. Overall initial impressions are awesome. I will have to see about durability down the road after some usage but I think it will hold up pretty well. If your looking for a simple setup to charge your electronics via a cig socket then look no further!

Works well and does what it is made for.
Works well with anything you use it with, inside contacts are prone to corrosion if left out in the rain. Definitely use the supplied cover if you ride in all types of weather.

Everything about this product says sturdy and up to the task
The holder for the outlet has the ability to screw into any area including a speaker front (I.e. plastic cover of the speaker). The outlet can slip in and out from the holder. This eliminates the drilling of a large hole to fit the outlet in a vertical position. Screws, nuts and washers to hold the holder in position can be bought at any hardware store. I like that the fuse is at the battery connection. Some products have the fuse closer to the outlet verses the power source which can cause problems.

Solid, built well power supply for accessories
I have the 48" model running from the battery to my handlebars on my 2013 Suzuki DL650 V-Strom. I charge my GoPro and phone from it. Very well built and I love the numerous optional accessories that integrate directly with it!

12v socket connection
I currently ride a Monster 696, which has a battery that is a pain to access. As SOP, the dealer had installed a pigtail for a trickle charger from the battery and run to the left side of the tank near the handlebars. I used the 12v socket and zip tied it to the frame near this pigtail, plugged into the pigtail and used a phone charger I already had to my phone (mounted on bar with RAM mount).
Works well, though the socket is a little loose in that the charger male end can lose connection with vibration. Happened a couple times my first ride. A rubber band cured that and all is well.

Extra power adds flexibility and safety
One of my biggest concerns while riding is losing contact with my family due to my phone battery life being sub par. The Powerlet now allows me to change while riding and never have that worry again. I can still check in during stops on the motorcycle and keep an eye on changing weather without trying to decide the best way to conserve my battery life. Install took all of 10 minutes and has been an extra convenience I wish I had gotten earlier. Great buy!

First, I already have a phone cord that can connect to the cigarette lighter and a battery tender/charger that can connect to the the SAE port. Second, I don't share the vibration concern that Anthony mentioned in the Powerlet video guide regarding cigarette connectors because my bike doesn't shake very hard, and my mounting will be upright. Finally, it was on sale, making it the cheapest Powerlet package that included battery leads that I could find.

Hello,

I'd like to use this to mount a 12v socket to my 2007 KLR 650 dash, connected directly to the battery and not the city lights connection, in order to power (not all at once) a GPS, an air compressor, an iphone and maybe a heated vest. Will this kit work?

Thanks!
A shopper on Aug 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The kit should work fine, just keep in mind the leads are pretty short. You might not be able run from the battery to the dash depending on the location of your battery. Having both the SAE kit and cigarette lighter connection makes this really versatile.
The title description says 10amp but the product detail says 15amp. Which is it? Thanks
Joe P on Jan 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi Joe P, I'm really not sure about the volts that allows this power output, but I've connected my charger for my iPhone (12 V) and I have not had any problem with my Kawasaki ZX-6R, this product or the attached divises, and definitely, Yes! I recommend this product. Good Luck!
can Powerlet be used with existing battery tender cable?
A shopper on May 21, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can connect the cigarette socket to your battery tender harness as long as it is a standard SAE connector.
What gauge wire are the battery leads?
