Phoneshield Samsung Galaxy S3 Mount Kit
The handle bar clamp is super CHEAP
The Handle bar clamp BROKE ... plus the phone only charges ½ of the time. I wanted this to work. Any suggestions on a compatible bar clamp would be appreciated.

Got this for my Galaxy S2
This review is solely for those with a Galaxy S2. Anyone with a S3 (what this is designed for) you will really like this and I totally recommend it. The reason I bought this and not a S2 case is because they do not make one.
I bought this to use with my Samsung Galaxy S2 (AT&T) hoping it would at least fit inside and be able to get a charge. Check and check.
Unfortunately I had to pull out the rubber liner that is on the inside to allow my phone to be fully seated on the internal male mini USB plug. Doing so removes the waterproofing and the side button functions. It also exposes wires on the inside of the back plate and looks really cheap.
Ultimately I will probably not end up using this on a regular basis because I can't see my phone's screen in direct sunlight, and because using it with the wrong model phone forces me to loose many of the design benefits. Also because the entire unit is pretty large and it blocks me from being able to get fully into the tuck position.

Great Case and Mount for my Galaxy S3
I made the jump from using my garmin zumo 550 to using my Galaxy S3. I use the SMH10 bluetooth headset and the zumo while good at gps, sucked at everything else that my S3 was capable of. This was the only solution that I could find for a powered mount (similar to the gps mount). The built in charging port is nice so that you don’t have to run a cable every time you hook it up.
The S3 fits snuggly into the case. The case then slides onto the mount and has a security screw so that there is no way the case will come off while riding. The ball mount that comes with the kit will not fit into the ram mount, however, you can bolt it onto a ram mount diamond base. I have it mounted with a ram u-bolt and short arm. I use the mount it came with on my bicycle.
I have a 12v usb power tapped into my bikes accessory power. The first picture is where the S3 connects to the micro usb inside the case. The second picture is the cable that powers the mount.
Exactly what I was looking for. Does what it is supposed to do, phone is powered, secure, and usable while mounted.

First look at Samsung S3 all weather case
The concept is really cool. I have High hopes for this case. The ball mount is small with this unit and is not made to go into the RAM double socket arm however it does come with a decent amount of mounting pieces, so I was able to take the one off of my Garmin GPSmap 60 mount and put it on the back of this one.
I had hoped the case would feel a little more robust for the price. I like the design and function but I was really expecting something more like maybe kydex ( personal feeling). I like that you can charge your phone while riding. I didnt want to have to have multiple GPS' on my bars and when using the constant GPS the battery will die quick, so this is a great feature.
The phone does sit snug in there with out a case as the phone with a case of any sort will not fit. This is good in my opinion as there is no room for wiggle.
I look forward to getting out and trying this unit on an actual ride to see how the whole set up works. I did want to get some thoughts down for other potential buyers .
My opinion right now. Its a cool design. I will continue to carry my garmin as a back up, however this should be great for day to day use and hopefully on the trail as well.
Oh and I gave it 3 stars because the tension ring broke. This is my fault but it would not tighten down enough to hold the case in place with out moving which it should. Original mount is not very good in my opinion or at least that part of it. Oh well problem fixed with a cradle adapter and a successful mounting to my double joint mount.
I also think its over priced. $35-45 would be reasonable.
Hope this helps.
