The RAM-B-342 fork stem mount is one of the cleanest ways to mount small electronics on your motorcycle. Simply slide the assembly into the hole of the stem and tighten the machine screw to create a tight fit. This part is designed to fit into the cylindrical bore wall of fork stems and will work with stems that measure from 12 -20mm and 28mm or 0.5” – 1.10” at the following intervals:
Wrong size plug for the application - but great unit otherwise
So I went through the online parts finder to select the right application for my bike - a 2004 Honda VTR1000. The base arrived and the plug was the wrong size - too small for the opening in the stem.
I solved the problem by whittling the top cylindrical bit to size with an Xacto knife.... a long and painful process, but effective.
Once I'd done that, the base worked as advertised. Be warned - don't trust the online parts guide. Double-check all the measurements.

Looks good and works better
I was skeptical of how the mount would hold within the stem of my bars. But once I installed it there was nothing that will make it come out. Was lifting the bike up while pulling on it.
I enjoyed this part but some might see this as a negative. It does not come ready to fit, you must essentially build it so that it fits your bike perfectly. I accidentally butchered my cuts on the rubber mount due to my rush but it still worked out just fine. Make sure you take your time and measure your cuts before slicing it, otherwise there's no second chance. Took me maybe 5 min to "build" and another 30 sec to install. Its hard to mess up but its possible so take your time.

Sturdy fairish price good buy
Easy to install except on the plastic pecies you are suppose to use the biggest one that fits well they all have a excess plastic chunk on the side I had to sand down

The mount works adequately, and holds my Galaxy S3 steady.....at least so far. I can still rotate the mount in the steering stem w/o much effort though. I would be completely satisfied if the mount was LOCKED in place and did not rotate at all, however, it works as advertised and the price is reasonable. I recommend this mount for anyone with a sportbike that gas clip-ons and limited space behind their fairing

Best solution for gadget mounts
This is probably the best solution for any sort of phone/gps mount, it isn't just my opinion, it's the opinions of most of the forums I visit also.
Simple to use, simple to install and RAM quality. I've lowsided with my phone rigged up on a RAM Finger Grip and it stayed put, did not budge.
The only con to this style of installation is that temp changes will loosen the base a bit. Simple fix is to just simply turn it a few more times or use a longer bolt/nut through the yolk and clamping it down.
