Great features, LOTS of storage, breathable and comfortable
I have been really happy so far with these pants. The fit is good and I love being able to hem the bottom six inches or so to fit for length. There is no end to the pockets. I feel SO many more motorcycle pants need REAL thigh/cargo pockets. I can open these while on the bike if I have to. The pockets are big but not too big. They hold my phone or wallet and other stuff no problem and keep them all safe and secure. The pants open at the bottom to make getting in and out of boots a snap. These pants zipper to my matching Olympia Jacket to keep them from riding down while riding. The zipper is rugged and easy as can be for one you have to do blind and behind your back (else you can zip them together before putting them both on but I've never really had to do that because finding that zipper and getting it lined up to the one on the jacket has been that easy. The value here compared to other pants is fantastic. You can DEFINTELY spend a LOT more and NOT get these features. I do mostly Sport Touring riding and though these pants are named "dual sport" (which conjures up lots of dirt biking with headlights) they are great for sport touring. I have no issue gripping the tank and in the heat these flow air to my body really well. I wore these recently in 80 plus degree weather here in LA and couldn't have been happier. Two things that would make these perfect would be a slide buckle at the waist (the dual snaps aren't bad but a buckle would just be slicker). With the belt loops I can wear a canvas belt and it's really comofortable and easy to cinch up even with gloves on. The other issue is the knee armor is a little light for on road. However, again, these are named dual sport pants. I wanted something that could play in the rain decently and have tons of storage for longer risdes and these pants to do that for me and offer good protection. The knee armor is replaceable and I think that and tailoring them to fit is all that I will ever need to do. I'm happy...thanks again REVZILLA!

Great air flow
Got these for a 7 day summer ride in Queensland.

As others have mentioned they have great air flow and I found the shorts feature is handy if you stop for an hour here and there, especially if your ride buddies are sweltering away in long pants!

Lots of pockets well located all with decent zippers so your stuff feels secure.

Didn't really like the knee armour in these pants though. Tried it in all of the 3 adjustable settings and It wasn't comfortable at all. Ended up just taking it out.

These are the pants you've been looking for
To start off, I've had a devil of a time finding pants that can double as both overpants for commuting, and regular pants weekend rides. To make matters worse, I'm 6'5, and my jeans are a 36x34, and I live in Tucson, AZ, so I needed something with a lot of airflow.

These pants are *exactly* what I needed, the mesh allows a ton of airflow, and there are more pockets than you can shake a stick at. The cut of the pants is extremely similar to my Levi's 505 jeans, so I can wear them over jeans and not have a lot of issues, or wear them on their own.

The hip/knee protections feels solid enough, I likely won't upgrade them. The pants work great when actually on the bike, they don't have a tendency to ride up or bunch.

My only small qualm is that the top side pockets aren't pass through, but I really can't expect that. Other than that though, I'm thrilled. I had them out this weekend in 110° heat, and I came back without feeling like my legs had melted off.

Fits my work pants and then some
I like these pants. I am a commuter and can wear my dress pants under these to work. It's summer now, and I am not sure how it will fair in fall weather, but we will see if it can last as long as my Air glide 4 jacket. The butt and thighs are a little narrow for me, which is no surprise, because I have this problem with most off the self paints, so the knee pads and shines tend to shift on me so I don't know where they will end up if I do have to test them in a fall. It would be great if they had straps for the pads like my jackets elbow pads so I could hold them in place.

I really wanted to like these Pants
So I think I left someone a comment rather than posting my own review so here I am writing everything over again.

I'm a 34/32 in jeans and some are snugger than others (Depending on the brand).

I wear shorts everyday to work and wanted a cooler pair of riding pants to wear over my shorts and for weekend rides.

It's back to the drawing board for me as these pants just didn't cut it for me.

I first got the 34's and they were very snug. it was like putting on a pair of skinny jeans. Had a muffin top popping out everywhere. Not a good look or a good feel.

I then got a pair of 36's that I figured would be sweet. I was wrong. They do fit more comfortably but still just not a comfortable pant that I see wearing all day long. The seams from the Shorts were rubbing on my legs and i can see that becoming very irritating on a long ride.

Also the pad velcro always snagged on my feet as I slipped these on and i was constantly reaching down the pant leg to reattach the velcro so it wasn't scratching my leg.

I love all the pockets and ventilation but they just don't work out for me. Hope this helps in your decision making.

Woman can wear these too
I was in the market for riding pants for hot weather (80F+) and women's options are limited. I also wanted a lighter color so that I didn't cook in all black. These pants have it all. I bought the pewter color in size 34 (I wear woman's size 9, 5'6" tall) and I can wear shorts or capris underneath without feeling squeezed. The ventilation is excellent and they're easy to get on/off over boots. They're too long on me and the excess material gets caught on my pegs and kickstand. I'm not sure what is meant by "easy hem" but my tailor charged me $45 to hem them and reposition the Velcro at the bottom. I really appreciate all the cargo pockets since I don't carry a purse when I ride. They have a ski-pants feel and are a little stiff but the protection feels right and is worth it. They zip into my Fulmer jacket perfectly. I understand there's a rain liner sold separately which is a good by if it rains in the summer where you live/ride. I don't see much rain where I ride so not an issue.

Easy BreeZy
First time ever riding and feeling a breeze on my legs. I'm not one to wear shorts so this is a great second. The zip off legs are easy to remove and quick to put back on. The zippers and velcro around the leg are adjustable enough for both my street boots and off road boots, which are vastly different. The adjustable armor is terrific. Due to my size I purchased the X-large making the legs a little long but the armor is just where it needs to be. Front pockets are mostly useless due to being small but the back pockets make up for that. LOVE them.

Does what it says. Cool and comfortable.
Left on a two-week ride from PA to Nova Scotia just after purchase. Lots of days in the 90's and these were much cooler than my other gear I've used for years. Very pleased. My only need is that I take a 32" waist but am over 6' tall so I'd like a little more length in the 32's or make a tall version. Otherwise great.

These pants are working great for me
I needed some summer riding pants and these are working well. Leg length is fine and in the summer heat, the ability to zip off the legs to cargo shorts as soon as I arrived at my destination has proved to be a more beneficial feature than anticipated. The venting is good and I would certainly buy them again.

AirFlow, yes, these let the air in!!! Color, the Pewter(non-black option) reflects sunlight more than black, thus keeping my legs cooler from the constant sun. And also the ability to tailor them down to my size. I'm able to stretch them to a 3 season pant in TX.
Alex L on Feb 12, 2015
Airflow is the main reason for choosing these pants as it gets pretty hot where I am situated. They also have the protective armour, plenty of pockets, dry quickly, are adjustable and are worn outside the boot. Anything remotely similar to these through BMW started at 330 AUD. Looking forward to getting hold of them as we are coming into summer in OZ and all reports are it is going to be a scorcher. Hope the pants live up to their reputation.

Would these pants burn easily on the bike's exhaust?
Abdulla A on Jul 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I would lean towards yes; the inner calf regions where one typically finds heat resistant material do not have such protection. There are mesh panels to allow for wind flow; while they may withstand higher temps I personally would not risk it.
The jacket that matches these pants has a rain liner. To get rain protection with the pants and complete the set, what should I do on my lower half?
john d on Jun 2, 2014
BEST ANSWER: With either my Dakar pants or jacket I plan to use my separate two piece [Tourmaster] rain gear.

Prefer to have jacket dry and pants have zero rain protection.
Will these pants fit over Alpinstar Tech 7 boots?
A shopper on Oct 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I think so, the bottoms of legs unzip to fit over a wide variety of boots
Could the shorts' zippers scratch the tank on a sport bike? I can't tell if the flaps cover them far down enough.
Abdulla A on Jul 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have an FJR1300 and never been an issue for me.
