These are the pants you've been looking for To start off, I've had a devil of a time finding pants that can double as both overpants for commuting, and regular pants weekend rides. To make matters worse, I'm 6'5, and my jeans are a 36x34, and I live in Tucson, AZ, so I needed something with a lot of airflow. These pants are *exactly* what I needed, the mesh allows a ton of airflow, and there are more pockets than you can shake a stick at. The cut of the pants is extremely similar to my Levi's 505 jeans, so I can wear them over jeans and not have a lot of issues, or wear them on their own. The hip/knee protections feels solid enough, I likely won't upgrade them. The pants work great when actually on the bike, they don't have a tendency to ride up or bunch. My only small qualm is that the top side pockets aren't pass through, but I really can't expect that. Other than that though, I'm thrilled. I had them out this weekend in 110° heat, and I came back without feeling like my legs had melted off. June 22, 2015
Very good pant for warm weather The pants are very good, and comfortable. These pants flow lots of air while riding. Stopped at a bike show to walk around and was sweating immediately, THEN I unzipped the lower portion of the legs and was cool again, great feature! The only addition that I would like would be more velcro available at ankles to cinch the openings tighter on my boots and possibly some adjustment snaps in the lower leg area around knee pads to tighten up and keep the pants in place while riding. Great Features, Good Value The Olympia Dakar Dual Sport Pants mostly live up to their claims. The one area in which they fall short is ventilation. In Summer riding the lining makes them fairly warm and their is little "flow" through the mesh. I expect this may turn out to be an advantage in the fall. If you're looking for a true "Summer" pant, this is not the way to go. May 25, 2015
Comftorable summer pants Actually find the cargo pants to be super useful on the bike. Little worried about how protective the mesh is. Still haven't used the zip off feature. May 11, 2015
just what I was looking for Great fit and comfort, good protection, very well made. Especially good in hot weather, and in cooler weather I just pair these with a base layer. May 9, 2015
Great features, LOTS of storage, breathable and comfortable I have been really happy so far with these pants. The fit is good and I love being able to hem the bottom six inches or so to fit for length. There is no end to the pockets. I feel SO many more motorcycle pants need REAL thigh/cargo pockets. I can open these while on the bike if I have to. The pockets are big but not too big. They hold my phone or wallet and other stuff no problem and keep them all safe and secure. The pants open at the bottom to make getting in and out of boots a snap. These pants zipper to my matching Olympia Jacket to keep them from riding down while riding. The zipper is rugged and easy as can be for one you have to do blind and behind your back (else you can zip them together before putting them both on but I've never really had to do that because finding that zipper and getting it lined up to the one on the jacket has been that easy. The value here compared to other pants is fantastic. You can DEFINTELY spend a LOT more and NOT get these features. I do mostly Sport Touring riding and though these pants are named "dual sport" (which conjures up lots of dirt biking with headlights) they are great for sport touring. I have no issue gripping the tank and in the heat these flow air to my body really well. I wore these recently in 80 plus degree weather here in LA and couldn't have been happier. Two things that would make these perfect would be a slide buckle at the waist (the dual snaps aren't bad but a buckle would just be slicker). With the belt loops I can wear a canvas belt and it's really comofortable and easy to cinch up even with gloves on. The other issue is the knee armor is a little light for on road. However, again, these are named dual sport pants. I wanted something that could play in the rain decently and have tons of storage for longer risdes and these pants to do that for me and offer good protection. The knee armor is replaceable and I think that and tailoring them to fit is all that I will ever need to do. I'm happy...thanks again REVZILLA! February 16, 2015
Great air flow Got these for a 7 day summer ride in Queensland. As others have mentioned they have great air flow and I found the shorts feature is handy if you stop for an hour here and there, especially if your ride buddies are sweltering away in long pants! Lots of pockets well located all with decent zippers so your stuff feels secure. Didn't really like the knee armour in these pants though. Tried it in all of the 3 adjustable settings and It wasn't comfortable at all. Ended up just taking it out. December 2, 2014
great pants very good air flow Size is true to fit. Has very good air flow. Lots of pockets. the only down side is the length which is to long and the knee protectors are kind of low. November 17, 2014

Alex L: AirFlow, yes, these let the air in!!! Color, the Pewter(non-black option) reflects sunlight more than black, thus keeping my legs cooler from the constant sun. And also the ability to tailor them down to my size. I'm able to stretch them to a 3 season pant in TX. Feb 12, 2015
Warren H: Airflow is the main reason for choosing these pants as it gets pretty hot where I am situated. They also have the protective armour, plenty of pockets, dry quickly, are adjustable and are worn outside the boot. Anything remotely similar to these through BMW started at 330 AUD. Looking forward to getting hold of them as we are coming into summer in OZ and all reports are it is going to be a scorcher. Hope the pants live up to their reputation. Nov 10, 2014

Abdulla A asked: Would these pants burn easily on the bike's exhaust? Jul 9, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Nathan B: I would lean towards yes; the inner calf regions where one typically finds heat resistant material do not have such protection. There are mesh panels to allow for wind flow; while they may withstand higher temps I personally would not risk it. Jul 9, 2014

Hugues-Frederic B: I will not test them. I would guess so, they are made of synthetic material. They are not to saggy so they would not flap around and melt, but they are not the Olympia MotoQuest who have leather on the inside of the leg. I love both! Jul 9, 2014

toby e: I haven't burned mine yet. I have been riding with Olympia gear for about 6 years. been down many a times and still holding up. Jacket I melted the zipper laying it across the exhaust pipe had to get the zipper replaced. Jul 10, 2014

Phillip B: "Easily"? Subjective term, but all 'plastic/oil based' synthetics will melt when they come in contact with an exhaust that is often over 1,000 degrees F. Burn no; melt yes. Only Nomex could take that level of heat. Jul 9, 2014

Darrin K: You could also get some nomex material to attach to the inner leg or have a tailor sew in some leather. Mar 27, 2015

Kevin L: No they do not burn the only problem is the zipper on the leg will flap in the wind and cut your leg Jul 9, 2014

john d asked: The jacket that matches these pants has a rain liner. To get rain protection with the pants and complete the set, what should I do on my lower half? Jun 2, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Phillip B: With either my Dakar pants or jacket I plan to use my separate two piece [Tourmaster] rain gear.

Prefer to have jacket dry and pants have zero rain protection.

Alex L: john, you have a few options to get rain protection with these pants. You could either get an over the pants rain pant like the Olympia Horizon Rain Pants (option I took) or find a rain liner to go underneath if keeping the look of the "complete set" is important. Jun 2, 2014

john d: I like the idea of rain gear over the jacket and pants so when the rain stops, the gear isn't wet. Thanks for the responses guys. I'm thinking horizon two piece suit or something like the one piece dainese rain suit. Jun 2, 2014

Patrick D: The pants are not water proof. I believe Olympia makes pants with a rain liner in it. But not with this pair. Jun 2, 2014

Abdulla A asked: Could the shorts' zippers scratch the tank on a sport bike? I can't tell if the flaps cover them far down enough. Jul 17, 2015

Brian K: I have an FJR1300 and never been an issue for me. Jul 25, 2015

Jacket Size Guidelines
We suggest you use these size charts as a general guide. Variables in weight distribution and height may alter the appropriate size range indicated. As a general rule Olympia Jackets are designed in America, with an "American" body in mind. As such, you will find that Olympia tend to fit more generously than European brands (such as REV'IT!, Dainese, Alpinestars and Spidi). If you are in between sizes, we recommend to you to err on the smaller side.

Pant Sizing Guidelines
Olympia pants fit true to size. If you intend on using them as over pants, please go one size up.

Inseam Lengths
Olympia pants are cut with generous inseams to accommodate various riding positions. Olympia EZ hem bottoms (can be hemmed up to six inches) and adjustable knee armor help riders achieve a custom fit
