Nolan N86 Deep Helmet
Good, not perfect.
I've had this helmet for awhile, almost 2 years, and I'm mildly disappointed. Some build quality issues with mine, the interior has some loose threads that can be annoying and I've had to glue the interior snaps back onto the helmet (the female ends) for all the interior, both cheek pads and the brow snaps. Being in a hot, humid climate might have something to do with the original glue of the original plastic female snap ends. (Your results may very.)
Besides those things, which have just happened this last week, this is a good helmet, it has all the features I want. Drop down visor and ratcheting chin strap and pre cut out speaker spaces that are sized perfectly and routing for wires for the speakers, the vents are pretty good, being in Texas they are adequate, not the best though.
Fit is really good, maybe a bit too round, it's still longer than wider though. The interior is comfortable.

This helpmate looks amazing and fits well. The drop down visor is easy to move even if you have to reach around your head because you have the clutch pulled in. The ratchet style chin strap works well and is easy to work with when you have gloves on. I only wish that the sun visor was one full curve instead of having a notch cut out of it. Overall a great helmet.

Excellent Full-Face Helmet at a great price!
The Nolan N86 is a great full-face helmet designed and manufactured in Italy. It comes with an integrated sun-visor and Pinlock silicone sealed anti-fog visor insert that is nice on those cold damp mornings to keep the visor from fogging. This helmet is DOT and ECE-22.05 safety rated. The paint quality and overall fit and finish of the helmet, air vents, visors and seals are excellent and has the look and feel of a much more expensive helmet! I have a vary standard shaped (neither narrow nor round) head and the size large fits me perfectly. The outward visibility and peripheral vision is very good as well. The weight of the helmet feels light and very comfortable. The sound levels are good and I can easily hear surrounding traffic. There is a noticeable amount of wind noise at speeds above 50 MPH, but is not overly distracting. The Nolan N86 is prepped for the Nolan N-Com Bluetooth intercom system. This means you can add an N-Com intercom to the helmet by inserting the intercom module into the recess on the left side of the helmet and popping in the mic and speakers into the pre-molded retainers. I personally won't be using this feature, but it is there for people who do like to talk or listen to music while riding. I'm very, very happy with my purchase and feel the combination of quality and features that the Nolan N86 provides is hard to beat even at twice the price!

I just rode 3000 miles through desert heat of over 100 F, cold and rainy high elevation in the Rockies and stayed dry, winds and rain of the plains, urban LA and this helmet worked great in all areas. It is a bit narrow, but then I also have a wide head. Once my head is in it, I have no discomfort. I am really pleased with my new helmet.

nice helmet, but it catches the wind like a kite. Also would be nice if the sun shade went down a little more so I don't get blinded when the sun bounces off my bike.

Good price for high quality and style
The summary says it all. The helmet is really cool, with its matte finish. You can tell it is built well from the feel of it. Here's just a quick pro con list:
Less expensive than most with these features
Drop down sun visor
ratchet style chin strap
removable cheek pads
pin lock included
Poor airflow on super hot days
Not recommended to put a Bluetooth intercom on
Visor blocks field of view when in "city" open position

Great fit for me, a bit foggy, a little noisy
Helmet fits my head well (my #1 priority). Very comfortable.
Pinlock-equipped shield is the bomb! In the cool damp Pacific Northwet, fogging is a big issue. The helmet by itself doesn't provide enough ventilation (particularly in commuting traffic) to keep the shield clear, but with the Pinlock liner it's almost never an issue.
Shield seals well against the helmet, so unless I have to crack the shield open at stops (see above), I don't get rain drips/dribbles inside. Eye opening seems to fall in the right place for me, no issues with visibility.
I like the sun visor, although I wish it extended a bit lower. Doesn't shade my view of the gauges, which might be intentional, but I find the contrast between shaded road view and unshaded gauge view a bit annoying. Still better than no shade when it's needed, and easy to switch on/off when riding through a tunnel, under a cloud, etc.
Microlock fastener took a little getting used to, but I'm starting to like it slightly better than D-rings; quicker on/off.
Not the quietest helmet I've owned [that would be my old Shark S650], but I always wear earplugs when riding on a highway.
I don't notice the weight as being exceptionally heavy nor light.
The bottom edge of the helmet is not a flat plane, so beware when setting the helmet down (e.g., on your seat for 'just a moment'), as it is somewhat unstable in that position.
Overall a good helmet for a good price, and a great fit for me and my needs.
