Excellent wind protection.
I am finding this product most useful in preventing wind from entering the helmet or jacket while riding at fairly cold temperatures. Anyone who regularly rides in the low 40's and upper 30's Fahrenheit should have some understanding of how important this is. Though I do think that its efficacy is going to be effected by the jacket you are wearing. I wear a Klim jacket and the two work very well together. I suppose I should not be surprised.
The top half is constructed of a thinner, softer fabric that breathes. Inside the helmet it is very comfortable, more so than other, thicker balaclavas. While the top piece is going to be less insulating than a thicker garment I have had this product on down to 35 degrees Fahrenheit and found it adequate for the duration of time I was willing to joyride like an idiot at 35 degrees.

This balaclava is a life saver. I ride almost every day in Colorado during the winter and this thing is awesome. My ride is roughly 20 min at highway speeds usually in single digits. If you are tired of a cold face and frozen neck this balaclava is for you.

Like several reviewers said, why spend more for an inferior product. The Gore-Tex keeps your neck and upper chest warm. The thin part covering the head does not interfere with the fit of your helmet. I am not a Klim only fan, but this piece of clothing works and the price is fair for what you get.

I used this on long rides and snowboarding. It is probably better under a looser helmet because it has a seam that is pretty thick. Overall, it keeps your face, neck and head warm on the cold rides.

Was good on a 40 degree day
I just got it and went out for a short ride, it was 40 degrees and felt comfortable but I've never worn one before so I can't compare it to anything. It also made my cheap helmet more comfortable. It would be nice if the neck portion was larger but for the amount of cold weather riding that I do it should be just fine.

The gear, as all Klim gear is, was put together very well, was packaged neatly, and was designed perfectly.
I purchased this for my brother for Christmas as he often complains about his face being cold. After scouring the market for all possible options I landed on the Klim Balaclava. It was rated well and was reviewed to have great purchase value. After my brother used it several times he told me how excellent the gear was and how effective its design was. Truly remarkable.

Decent cold weather protection at a low price
With so many balaclava options out there I had trouble deciding on a price range, ultimately going with Klim. The trouble spots for me have always been my chin and the front of my neck, and the Klim balaclava does a great job at holding the cold wind at bay.
I've used the product on three rides so far, and it is holding up well, but I'm not sure if it is going to last more than a few seasons. The material on the lower half of the product is sturdy and very much weather resistant, and the material that sits on the top of your head is thin enough to hardly effect helmet fitting.
The only issues:
- The curve under the chin isn't enough and when tightening a full face helmet the strap pulls the balaclava up and bunches around the neck.
- The extensions on the balaclava that are intended to fall underneath a jacket are quite long enough, and will often pull up and start flapping in the wind. I'd still recommend a scarf for colder rides and to help keep the balaclava in place.
Overall, decent cold weather protection and a manageable price.

Like most other Klim products they may not be the cheapest but the quality is excellent and you do get what you pay for. Replaced another balaclava from another manufacture that was way less but never was a good fit. Fit and finish is excellent comfort is great. Should have bought this one the first time.
