People buy balaclavas for different reasons. Mine was simple - the combination of my Dumbo ears and my Shoei RF-1100 was getting painful. So I thought - why not try a head sock?
It works. There may be other products that do as good or better (and if you know of one please share!) but this one has made the difference in my ability to keep using my RF-1100.
No issues with durability, breathability, or fit. For me, it's a comfortable headsock I can put on and then forget about - which is what is supposed to happen.

decent neck warmer
this will do a good enough job at keeping out the wind .I dont thiink that a more expensive one would be any better

I'm always cold and this simple thing makes cold weather riding much more comfortable. The skull-cap is like a microfiber and easily fits under a helmet (non-windstopping). The windstopper at the neck does its job while also being quite thin and long enough to not pop out of my jacket. This would also be perfect for skiing/snowboarding.
I always have this in my pack for fall/winter riding. Well worth the money. Note that my low score on air-flow is a good thing for this product.

Top quality, excellent protection
I own several Klim products and all are top quality. The balaclava fills the gap between helmet and jacket well to keep wind off the neck area. The large flap that tucks into your jacket is what separates this balaclava from cheaper products. I will definitely include this as a must-have for cooler riding conditions.

Keeps all the drafts out of your collar! Nice fit, doesn't add a lot of bulk under the helmet.

Very well made
The Klim balaclava is, like most Klim products, extremely well made. You just touch it and feel the difference in material, the great quality and craftsmanship. I only wish they made an open face version for warmer climates.

Bought a second one when my G/F started riding with me, she loves it and appreciated the doesn't let cold air in and does not pull her hair when taking off her helmet.

Far superior to other neck protectors as a wind stopper but because of it's lite-weight just a bit lacking in extreme cold protection (that's what the helmet's for, anyway). I have 3 different styles of baraclava & this one is presently my front-line defense
