Excellent
This jacket is pretty perfect. It is warm enough with the outer liner to keep the wind chill down, while being cool enough with only the inner jacket to work for the arizona heat. At first the elbow pads seemed like they wouldn't line up at all, but I realized there were snaps to adjust where the pads sat. The jacket is a little bulky with all 3 layers on, but it makes up for that with all of its versatility.

awesome concept, interesting fit.
I just ordered the alter ego 3.0 to go along with my new motorcycle I purchased last week. I bought a 2011 suzuki gsxr- 750. I was looking for a versatile jacket for both the hot summers in Texas and the cooler winters, though mainly for the spring, summer, and fall. This jacket looked to be exactly what I wanted! My husband had a jacket similar to this one and I loved that he could tear off an outer layer and have a cool mesh jacket, so I was determined to find one for the ladies.
I love the way the jacket comes apart into 2 jackets, as opposed to a puzzle of fabric and zippers like my husbands does. Also the outer jacket folds up into a pouch that is just small enough to fit in the undertail of my bike. It seems pretty warm, though I haven't been able to get out on the bike yet, I've just been wearing it around my house and yard in debate on whether to keep it or return it.
Here's why I have had some debate, the fit is weird. The under jacket fits great, exceptional without the spine protection, but still a pretty great fit in the shoulders, neck, and arms. However, zip on the outer layer and the whole thing gets longer and not just longer but the shoulders of the jacket actually sit like an inch off my shoulders. This causes the collar of the jacket to go all the way to my chin and I feel like I am suffocating. I have to leave it unzipped like halfway for it to be comfortable, so that's a problem because its not giving maximum protection. The whole shoulders and chest area are a bit large on me.
I am 5'3" and 115 pounds, based on my measurements 32-26-32 I ordered a small to ensure I could fit an extra hoodie or fleece under the jacket if I needed too.
Overall I am pretty happy with it and since my winters are so short I don't think the outer layer will really be a problem and I will probably just see if it needs some breaking in time to let the fabric settle.

Love the style!
I chose this jacket because it had both style and functionality. I am very pleased with both. Rode at 40 degrees and was very comfortable. Haven't had a chance to ride with the mesh alone but it is very light and I'm sure it will be great. The lines and styling are very much flattering. I did order a size larger than I measured out and the fit is great. I didn't want it to fit really snug. I have just enough room to wear a light fleece and still move my arms.

Soaked
Despite my vaguely negative review, I do love this jacket. I'm just a daily commuter, and I found that it is not really waterproof. I am going to send it in to Joe Rocket for "repair" (?), and/or try waterproof spray, but it *will* soak through in a downpour... and it takes a while to dry, so it will still be wet when you want to ride home at the end of the day >.<
100% water-resistant (you'll do fine in a light/short shower). Not-so-waterproof.
Sizing: I am 5'7.5" and about 145lbs. The medium is a little too big, but it cinches up well and allows me to bundle. I have a really skinny neck, but the collar is too small once I have a balaclava/heated collar piled on underneath (and a ponytail if I got it tucked in). I do find that if I bundle up that much I still keep warm even without the top snap buttoned - and I can button it with less material underneath just fine. If you're biking at 35 degrees or lower, I would definitely recommend heated gear underneath - it won't do the trick on it's own.
I'm also a little put-out by how the wrists of the two layers line up. Not as elegant as I hoped, unless I'm doing something wrong.

good 3 season jacket
I bought this hoping that it would be a good 4 season jacket, but it will be my "go-to" jacket for all seasons but winter. Unfortunately for winter it's not as warm as my Tourmaster especially through the arms. On the other hand, with all the layers that it has, I'll be using it more often for the rest of the year. I love the mesh layer and I love that it looks feminine. It's very adjustable so it should fit most body styles. I have big "american" shoulders and ribcage, so I ordered a size larger than my measurements indicated on the size chart because I wanted enough room to fit a polarfleece jacket under it if needed and the size worked out perfectly.

Fits a lady!
Outstanding jacket. Fits a woman's body nicely. Is flattering. Has great protection pads. I've worn it in 16C (50F); and, 35C (97F) and it's great! Kept me warm and comfortable.

Excellent riding Jacket, warm in cold temperatures very functional.
I had been looking for the right jacket for some time, I am very pleased with this jacket it is very comfortable and warm which is what I wanted. I love the color and style you can look like a lady, and still have all of the functionality of a jacket. Having to only pack one jacket is a lot easier for long road trips too.

Great Jacket...love it except...
This jacket does all it claims. My boyfriend purchased the silver/white for me. However, he has the black/grey. We discovered (while riding together on his bike) the "Rocket" emblem on the back of his jacket rubs the white front of mine leaving two vertical dark lines along the sides of my zipper. Bummer. I have only worn my jacket once. I recommend the black/purple unless you are riding solo. I suggest moving the "Rocket" emblem to the top back of the men's jacket to avoid this issue.
