Just What I Wanted
This product is just what i was looking for. Nice, practical functionality with a good fit and great looks. I ordered an XL and currently I am about 6'2" and 210 lbs. Fits like a glove, and sleeves are long enough. Thanks Icon... and Revzilla for the lowest price

First Jacket
Overall, the jacket looks and feels great. With a 37" chest measurement I went with a small. I'm approximately 5'8" and 140 lbs. I contemplated going up to a medium but figured the armor wouldn't sit right on my body. This is my first jacket for my first bike.
There were definitely a few quality control concerns with a few loose threads and the internal zipper for the liner not matching up exactly with the jacket (one side is longer then the other). Nothing to be worried about.
I upgraded the back foam piece to the hard insert because I figured I might as well since it needs to actually protect me. I would rather have it and not need it versus needing it and not have it.

Great jacket
Good Bang for the buck i get the look at that cool guy look all the time with this jacket really satisfied with it has that aggressive look to it.Definitely a must have .

Best all-around jacket for the $ and a awesome style piece
This jacket is a great all-around choice for 3 seasons. I changed this one out to replace my light, all mesh jacket and I get way more flexibility with the overlord. It's more beefy and solid than an all mesh jacket but it still has good airflow, especially in the arms. I own the white and I think it is more of a light metallic silver than a white, but it looks incredible.
I'm 6' 0" 165 lbs and the medium fits great with and without the liner( I'm usually a medium across the board). I can also wear some layers underneath in colder temperatures and still be comfortable. The one concern I had with the overlord series before I purchased this was that I thought that the precurve in the arms would make it awkward to walk off the bike, but I don't even notice.

This is my first motorcycle jacket it fits well going by the size chart, I feel that im protected when riding and the style points are there at a great price point.

Solid Protection
This is my first jacket for my first bike and I love it. I feel like if I went down, the armor would do its job and with the liner in, I feel protected from the elements as well. At 40 degrees this morning, the ride was... "refreshing," but I was warm enough to still enjoy the ride! I'm 5'10" 139 and the small fits me fine. The sleeves are plenty long for my arms too.

ICON DOES IT AGAIN!!!
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME Jacket!!! Second product from ICON that I have purchased and super pleased once again. I didn't get the Overlord Prime Leather jacket due to extreme heat conditions here in Texas, but this is a great substitute, without denting your wallet. The same outside/inside armor on this just like the Prime Leather. I'm 6', 215lbs, 44in. chest with pretty big arms and went with an XL and it fits me like a glove. Airflow is good, looks are great plus this matches my newly purchased Airmada SB1 Helmet, also from ICON. ( see my review on it ) Once again, big thanks to Revzilla for the detailed review and helping my decision process that much easier!

Answer:
Mesh jackets are more summer oriented while maximizing airflow. Textile jackets are still good with airflow, but may be a more viable option in cooler temperatures in the spring and the fall. Mesh jackets are generally not as heavy as textile jackets due to all the perforation and thickness of the material. I would say the difference in protection is not too great because they both should have armor in the forearms, elbows, shoulders and back. Different brands will have different quality of armor (look for CE certified). I think textile jackets give more flexibility in riding times throughout the year. My first jacket was mesh and it was only viable in warm weather.Age: 18-24

mesh is mesh, there is no fabric for abrasion protection. textile has fabric made for crashing in and will protect you a lot more than the mesh. pick a jacket that has CE armor in the shoulders, elbows and back.1 year, 8 months ago

Mesh has holes. Textile is closed fabric. In hotter climates, many of us choose mesh jackets even though there is some compromise of protection from leather. Textile is a cheaper alternative to leather but it is not appreciably cooler.Age: 18-24
