Icon Hooligan 2 Mil Spec Mesh Jacket
The Hooligan2 Mil-Spec jacket features the normal list of Hooligan2 features - durable fighter mesh chassis, padded ballistic elbow overlays, integrated flex panels, CE elbow and shoulder impact protectors while also including a package of bright color blocking and retro-reflective paneling. The Hooligan2 Mil-Spec meets US Military base guidelines for motorcycle upper body garments, eliminating the requirement to wear a separate reflective vest on the military base.

This procduct was dissapointing
The concept behind this jacket is very good – a full-mesh shell for hot weather riding. The jacket however is a strange cut and has very little stiffening to give it shape across the shoulders. This means that it hangs off the rider, and that essential areas are not where they should be. The jacket was sized larger than other jackets of the same rating. It is longer in the arms than necessary, and wider across the back – a simian cut. The armour is also very poor - I needed to replace that immediately, which is not ideal for a reasonably expensive jacket. I have done one 500km off-road day-ride so far in the jacket and it was quite comfortable to wear. That said, I think there are probably better options for cut, quality and utility.

Not bad...
Really good jacket, but I don't know why it costs that much more than just a regular hooligan 2 jacket. Is the reflective material that much more expensive? I would still buy it if I had to though, because I really like this jacket for traversing the urban terrain in my daily commute.

The Jacket doesn't stand up to wear
I bought one about 8 months ago. Since that stitching has become unraveled, sleeve studs have come off so many times I have now sewn Velcro strips on the sleeve. The colour has faded quite a bit and now the start of the zip has torn so that I cannot keep the zip closed. The reflective strip around the elbows is loosing its reflective properties. The Jacket also has no waterproof pocket for a mobile phone. I live in Australia and use it every day. Now I have to buy another jacket - not Icon.

Nothing else like it
Yup, the inside liner sleeves are a bit long. The elastic cuff makes it harder to get your gloves on. More pockets on the inside would be nice.
Overall, the jacket is very good though. If you prefer the orange mil-spec with some style, this is really your only choice. The fighter mesh, zippers, and protective padding are top quality.

Great jacket
Very high visibility to other motorists. Comfortable in both hot and cold weather.

This Jacket is better than I thought it would be in terms of air flow, and the high Visablity.
Excellent Jacket, I wear every time I ride. Already I have seen reaction of a driver awaken by the high visabilty.
If you ride, you need either loud pipes or bright clothes, for saftey.

Great look,feel and functionality!! Priced just right!
My riding friends have alot of jackets...now they all wish the Hooligan 2 was one of them and I know many of them will be adding this jacket to their collection. As for me, I feel pimp and safe at the same time when I ride. Love it !!

Which body armor can I fit under this jacket and how would I size it?

I'm looking for some lightweight body armor and abrasion resistance to cover the armor for hot summer riding. I want good airflow and was considering wearing just an MX shirt over the body armor, but that won't protect against abrasions during a fall on the road. What combination do you suggest?
