I forgot they're there!
I've been wearing these for a few days now and they're so comfortable I keep forgetting they're there until I try to scratch my hips or fish items from my pockets.
The d3o armour works great! I've done some "tests" at home and I am pleasantly surprised at how well they work. The foam paddings underneath the d3o armours further enhances shock absorption.
We are approaching winter where I live, so I can't say how breathable these shorts are. But if it's any indication, I don't feel any warmer with them on.
I wear them over my jocks, under my kevlar pants. Because judging by the way the fabric feels, I don't believe they're supposed to replace your jocks / boxers. You can certainly do so, but I know I wouldn't.

motorcycle pants generally come with decent hip protection. These shorts just augment that. They fit well and protect the hips. In this day and age, when drivers are becoming more and more complacent in their driving awareness, extra protection just can't hurt. These shorts are easy to wear.

fits like a glove
I have other brand of safety shorts, but this one is not as bulky as other brands. Works great with regular jeans or loose fit with out the bulk.

I bought these shorts and a pair of Stryker knee armor to use with Kevlar jeans, they're very comfortable, you forget you're wearing them after awhile.

most intelligent CE rated armor on the market
This was my 2nd short (first was Alpine Star - Bionic) and both sag quite a bit on the back so I don't recommend going commando in either one, but the Stryker sagged less and was definitely more flexible adding to the comfort appeal. I wear these on my commute to San Diego State and have no complaints as i keep them on through the day. Have not gone down with them however, the peace of mind knowing the shields are CE Rated armor tech is a definite bonus.

Maximum Comfort over Protection.
Keep in mind that I bought these shorts solely for it's comfort rather than for it's protection. They fit nicely and hardly bulge out of the waist area of my jeans which makes them barely noticeable when wearing them. They also offer a decent amount of ventilation in the crotch area with its perforation which adds to the comfort. Although these shorts do not offer a tailbone pad; it does however, offer a bit of abrasion protection with it's thin layer of aramid/kevlar surrounding the d30 hip pads.

This product has important but limited use
The Stryker Shorts are somewhat expensive, but do provide important hip protection--especially for a rider with hip prostheses. The drawback is that the shorts will be difficult to wear every day of a long tour since they are supposed to be used as underwear. There is no fly, and a rider will want to wash underwear periodically, but may find it troublesome to wash these shorts and use them the next morning before they are fully dry.
