Well built, highly recommended.
Recently crashed. Low sided, front tire slid out taking a turn in the wet, maybe about 35mph, other than some abrasion and a few superficial scars the worst the pants got was a small tear on the right knee, but it's not substantial enough to make me retire the pants or even to try and see if I could repair the tear. I was lucky to be geared up and suffered no severe injuries, and I was incredibly impressed with how my gear held up.

As far as the pants themselves go, I found the sizing to be appropriate to the size chart and recommendations in the video. The armor in the knees is adjustable up/down via the use of a multi-tiered pocket. There is no hip armor, there also is no liner.
The pants are meshy and flow air well, but the pants are reinforced with smaller gauge mesh and solid textile in many places so on hotter days you'd best wear short pants underneath and change to full pants when you get to your destination.
There is a simple belt that is used to adjust the waist. It functions fine, but I did notice the teeth on the buckle have begun to fray the web. If you pull the belt as if to tighten it as you open the buckle you mitigate the "bite", but a replacement of a D-ring style belt or a side-release buckled belt from a Mil-Surp store might be appropriate.

My only real gripe with these pants is lack of pockets. It has pockets on the seat, but if you are like me you ceased to put your wallet back there years ago because sitting on objects tends to be uncomfortable. I'd like it if it had some forward pockets, but it would block the biggest panels of mesh on the front of the thighs.
I've taken to wearing a backpack and/or bringing a tank-bag as I commute every day on the bike, so the lack of pockets isn't a deal breaker for me.

Great price right now, too. Get them while they are available!

Nice pants
These are nice pants. I think they are a bit long and a bit loose. In denim jeans like levis I wear a 34/36 waist and 32 inseam. I purchased these pants in size xl and they were way to baggy and long; I returned that pair and now have size L and they fit much better. Perfect over pants and acceptable over a pair of shorts. The build quality is great, all zippers work great. Not sure what's up with the big metal belt buckle, not a very paint friendly way to hold your pants up. No front pockets, not a deal breaker but I kinda like having front pockets. Ventilation is great, looks are awesome and hopefully I won't find out how well they work in a crash.

Nice features and style
I live in Maine, and with the short winter, I've already been out using these pants a few times. While I have not crashed and therefore can't comment on protection, the pants overall are excellent, especially at the closeout price.

I had been using jeans and my ski pants. The Icons are definitely more rugged (offering much better protection than those). It does have adjustable knee armor and plastic hip sliders.

Zippers are big and tough; easy to use with gloves.

With the mesh uppers, I could feel the cool spring air more than with my ski pants, which should mean good airflow in the warmer times.

Fit: I am just over 6' tall, weigh 224 with a 34 inch inseam. I originally ordered the XLs but they were too baggy/bulky. I returned them and got the Large which fit perfectly.

They are easy to get on and off over boots (I use them to commute to work).

So far, I am very pleased with these and do recommend.

Really long
I got the smallest size because I'm short (5'5) and slim, these pants are like 6-8 inches too long. Luckily there is a strap at the bottom of the pants on the inside so you can roll the bottoms up, wrap the strap around and snap the strap closed with a button. I'm not sure if that's what it's intended for but I definitely need it. This is probably for the same reason the pants are so damned long but the kneepads are pretty low. I don't know if these kinds of pants can be tailored but I'm going to look into it.

The waist seemed to be appropriate, maybe a little big but not much. The buckle kind of eats at the nylon even after the first use. However, now that I'm aware of it, I just need to make sure I'm more careful unbuckling.

Not what the video shows!
The pants are nice for summer riding, however they are nothing like advertised in the video. They do NOT have a waterproof liner, or D3O hip protection. There isn't even pockets to add hip protection. Contacted customer service and Ethan K was rude and no help at all unless I wanted a refund. They also have a metal buckle the will scratch everything you lean against. No wonder these pants are being discontinued.

Disappointed
These pants were not what I was expecting.
I am in need of protective motorcycle pants which can be worn over regular pants, made out of a durable and tear-resistant material, and which would include armor at least covering the knees, but preferably covering the hips as well.

These pants are made out of durable material, however the padding, if you can even call it that, is incredibly flimsy and offers very little surface area protection. In fact, because the pants are so large and baggy, the knee pads are either going to sit too low (ie on the shin, not the knee cap) and/or they are going to shift to the left and right sides of your legs, not sit directly over the knee.

I mentioned it earlier, but these pants are gigantic and super baggy. I'm 5'10", and an athletic 175 lbs. My waist is a size 30, and my inseam is 30-32. I bought the Medium thinking that they would be small, but even they were too large. I now have to return the pants, wait until I get a notification that the return has been received, then replace my order to avoid double-billing.

Worse yet, this was a gift, so I have to go back to the person who gave it to me and ask them to replace the order online for a smaller size. Just a real hassle that could easily be avoided if they gave more accurate readings on their size chart. Also, bring the cost of these pants down. $200 bucks for snowpants with a thin sliver of plastic covering the shins is ridiculous.

I commute sixty miles a day on the 405 freeway at speed in the morning and splitting traffic at night. They are comfortable and provide extra protection. I bought contractor-type suspenders at Lowes and these work better than the belt that came with the pants. The suspenders hold the pants in place when walking or seated on the bike and prevent damage to my tank. These are great pants, and I would definitely buy them again.

What is the sizing on these? The sm ... XL ... doesn't match the sizing chart which is in inches. cheers. :)
Ewen W on Sep 11, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I ordered the XL and they were sized as an overpant for a 36 inch waist. I have a 34in waist so returned them and ordered the large. I had the same concern so I asked customer service and they confirmed these waist sizes on L and XL
in the video it's stated that these pants have a removable waterproof lining. It doesn't mention this in the description. Do they, or don't they?

Thanks!
Deisal on Jun 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: my pair did not... it's not waterproof, they have some mesh on it., neither the citadel jacket they are more summer jacket well ventilated.
I have a 44in waist,What is the sizing on these?
JIN H on Dec 29, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Dont know. I am 36 waist, i have XL and feels a little bigger for me, so I could have bought size L Buy I could Worn base layers under the jacket during fall/winter, so probably get the size that you mostly use in Jackets.
I wear a 36 waist x 34 long jeans/pants. Would you recommend a large or xl in these?

Thanks.
Eric B on Mar 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm 36" as well and the large fits me great
The video says these pants have hip protectors but nowhere else I've looked, including icon's website says anything about hip protectors. I just want to check for sure, do these pants really have hip protectors or not?
Austin B on Jul 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I own these pants, the don't have hip pads but DO have sliders on the hips. I am very pleased with these pants. I have had them for a few months and ride in So Cal.
I have the Icon Compound jacket that has a connection zipper in the rear to attach to pants.
Do these pants have a zipper to connect to a jacket?
Christopher M on Jun 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No there is no zipper connection.
