Touch warm in the summer with pants It is helping me extend some riding in the the fall. I used them a little in warmer weather and found them to be a little hot as an overpant. If you are wearing shorts they are great, but jeans, in temps over 70, not so great. November 9, 2015
Great over a part of gym shorts. I like these over pants and they fit great over a pair of shorts. Riding in AZ these pants breathe great in the valley when it is hot and then give just enough protection from the cooler temps when going up into the mountains/canyons. Only knit pick I have with the pants is the stretch areas above the knees needs to be larger so the backs of the pant legs don't ride up as much when moving on the seat in the canyons. Great pants for the money and size is just like video stated. August 3, 2015
Great Protection for the money I commute almost everyday. The buckle is riveted to the mesh so it will rip out if you trash the pants; I treat my gear right so it is not a problem. I went down on the street last week and these pants only had a slight scuff. My older mesh jacket from another manufacture did rip bad on the forearm and my arm got bruised but these pants worked great and I didn't have any leg injury at all. These pants are an affordable, big step up from jeans and will save your legs/knees when you go down. I got the grey pants and they look like a blue/green/grey color :-/ but i didn't want black because I'm in Florida and cant do black gear with the sun. I wear size 30 pants and jeans and i got size 30 and they fit great over my work pants. You can adjust the position of the knee armor in the pants with separate knee pockets in the pants. Good Affordable Armor. July 6, 2015
Good with mods These over pants are incomplete as they come. There is not a good way to hold them up. I want an overpant to be loose so I can get them on and off easily, but that left the waist too big. My fix was adding clip-on suspenders, and that is working well. They should come that way. June 20, 2015
major flaw in product The buckel fell off and now i have to buy another pair which is going to cost a couple hundred dollars just because people do not know how to design their own product June 7, 2015
Good but not "overpants" I bought this with the matching Icon Anthem 2 jacket (which limited me to white since there is only one color in these pants). First, these are not "overpants." I'm 6' 1", 205 lbs, and wear a 33" waist, 34" inseam in jeans. I ordered the 34" waist pants, but they fit like a pair of jeans. There is no way I could fit a pair of jeans or khakis under these. Also, since these don't have a zipper on the ankles, you won't be sliding these on over your boots. That said, I bought these to have a good pair of hot weather pants. They are surprisingly more substantial than I expected from the pictures and videos. You'll still sweat in them if you're stuck in 100 degree heat in traffic, but as soon as you start moving again, you'll cool right back off. I actually think white is a good color for this niche as a summer pant, since they're cooler as a result, but a nice light gray or more neutral option would have been good also. The armor is great and I didn't have to adjust the knee pads - they were spot on. I also have to say the waist ratchet is a big improvement over my RevIt overpants that have snaps that pop off with the slightest twist, despite not being tight on my waist. July 17, 2015
Does what it says Great overpant by Icon. The video was spot on and these are great value for the outlay. They fit great as an overpant, I wear them on my commute to work over my scrubs and they are a bit more loose, but they are made to go over jeans. The armor sits well once adjusted in the pockets and the pass through pockets make filling up at the station easier. Would definitely recommend. June 2, 2015
Awesome, but a few things....... They are really nice. My only two complaints is they are sized for those with long legs. I ordered to size, and they are difficult to get over cargo shorts (waist is fine once on, just getting it there is a process) and they are long. Like under the heels of my boots when I walk long. I am 5'10", and most of my height is from my legs and they are still a little long. Would still recommend. July 13, 2015

Nicholas D asked: Do these over pants have long zippers to help get in and out of them while still wearing your street pants? If so, how long are they (up to the knee, up to the hip, etc)? Jan 29, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Tom G: The zippers do not go up to your knees--I have two pair of riding boots, they will go over one, but not the other. Really no problem presented by the jeans underneath.

Aside from that these are my most favorite pants--not too hot, and will keep you a bit warm (with jeans underneath) on cooler rides.

Keith D: The zippers on the legs come us about 1/2 way to the knee. These pants are quite easy to get on over jeans as they are very baggy. Simply step into them. I would say however that removal of your shoes is necessary. Jan 30, 2014

Eric J: They don't have long zippers, maybe mid shin or so. I wear them with jeans underneath all the time and they slide over jeans very nicely. My jeans never bunch up as in pulling then on. Jan 30, 2014

HAROLD V: They go up the pants approximately 3-4 inches. I can get them on with pants underneath without problems. I have to have my shoes off because they will not pass through easily. Jan 29, 2014

Gary P: There is a zipper at the bottom of each leg but they are not very long. 8 inches to be exact. I actually have to remove my boots to get them on. Hope this helps. Jan 29, 2014

Clint C: The front zipper is roughly 7" and the lower leg zips are about 8". I haven't had a problem getting in and out of them. I'm a 31" waist and bought the size 32. Jan 29, 2014

Troy P: They zip up the outside of the leg up to the bottom of the knee. I ride with Corcoran jump boots and they go over those without taking the boots off. Jan 29, 2014

Steven E: These pants do not have long zippers. Still have to remove boots to take off the pants. Zippers come up to roughly mid-calf. Jan 29, 2014

A S asked: If I fell, would these pants protect me from road rash??? Or do I have to buy leather pants and not over pants. Please assist me with this concern. Want to buy asap due to the weather:))) Thanks Mar 12, 2015

christopher v: I own a pair of these pants, as well as quite a few other Icon garments. Even though I have never gone down with these particular pants on, I have crashed in a pair of Icon Overlord mesh overpants. They are very similar to the Anthem in their construction and style.
I was not going very fast when I low-sided and slid about 50 feet or so on semi wet asphalt. I had a pair of Icon riding jeans on underneath the overpants, and they did not sustain any damage. The Overlord pants did their job quite well. the right side hip and butt area was scuffed up but did not tear through. I do not think that they would have remained completely intact had I slid much further, but I don't expect them to be indestructible. While no mesh garment is going to wear as tough as leather, the lightness and breathability that the jean/overpant combo offers, while still protecting you as well as they do, make for an excellent choice for the warmer weather. And, I live in Arizona, so I know a little about riding in warm (frickin' hot) weather)

JOHN GRILLI J: I believe the pants are good protection and I bought them to wear over my work pants. the quality is good and I'm confident they would protect from road rash. I've heard some folks actually wear shorts under them. I would recommend those pants for the price point. Mar 13, 2015

GEORGE W: These pants will provide more protection than regular denim jeans, and probably a little more than kevlar lined denim jeans. But less protection than full (not mesh) textile, and much less than leather. I would definitely not wear them with any kind of shorts. Mar 26, 2015

Aleksei P asked: Is there a zipper for attaching to the jacket? Can you zip it to Alpinestars jacket? Jan 5, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Robert T: There is no zipper or belt loop attachment on the pants. I suppose you could always sew in a rear zipper to connect to your jacket. Jan 5, 2015
Reply to Robert Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
James C: No, there are snaps that seem to be for attaching a jacket. The pants are very comfortable. I use them for cruising. They manage to keep me warm in cool weather and cool in warm weather. I am very pleased with them overall. Jan 6, 2015

J Michael D: Hi Robert,
Nope, no zipper to connect pants to jacket. Had to have mine shortened to fit, but otherwise are nice pants. I wear them over my work clothes - jeans or shorts. Ventilate quite well.

A shopper asked: Are these less baggy than the Hooligan 2? Apr 20, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: We find that the Hooligan 2 and the Anthem both fit about the same, and are on the baggier side since they are over pants. If you are looking for a summer mesh pant that won't be quite as loose, checkout some of the European brands such as Dainese, Alpinestars, and REV'IT!. Apr 26, 2013
