Poor quality, loose threads and seams unfastened Icon Mesh over-pants arrived seven days after ordering along with the Icon Anthem Mesh Jacket. Upon arrival the pants had several imperfections but were acceptable. After two short rides the pants are literally falling apart. Stitching is coming loose and the zipper pull came off the front left pocket. Today I called customer service and received a return authorization for the pants to go back for warranty service, they can't send out a replacement because they've been worn twice. So the lesson is if anything is imperfect SEND IT BACK ASAP! So I'll likely receive either a new or repaired set of pants that are poor quality. Really disappointed. Not recommended. August 11, 2014
Great air flow, good protection for a summer pant. flows a ton of air, adjustable knee armor position is a plus. I read a few negative reviews about the waist buckle, I find it easy to use and have had zero issues with it. August 7, 2014
Defective design; should be pulled from market As many reviewers have noted, these pants have two design flaws, one which is very serious. 1. The ankle zippers aren't long enough to permit donning these pants with boots on (at least for people who have average sized feet/boots), which tends to defeat the purpose of an overpant. 2. The waist buckle is fastened to the waist band with two small rivets. There is no reinforcement to the fabric in this area, nor anything like a washer or backing plate to distribute the pulling force exerted by these rivets. So sooner or later, the rivets *will* pull through the waist band. Several reviewers have experienced this problem. It happened to me after about 20 wearings. While it's possible to make a repair with replacement rivets, Chicago screws, or some other solution, that wouldn't be necessary if this protective gear was properly designed. This is an obvious design flaw which makes this product defective for the intended purpose. Bottom line, don't buy these pants. July 20, 2014
Great Product! I originally went with a size to big. I had to exchange for two sizes smaller because the pants were long. Now that I have the correct size, I love them! The pants breath very well and are very comfortable. The pants still look a little long when I stand, but when riding they are the perfect length. July 8, 2014
Lasted 1 year, 10 good rides After a year I thought I would throw 2 cents. After 1 year and about 10 long group rides the buckle that is riveted into the fabric broke when I was at the dragon. Pros: wonderful air flow, fits great. and very comfortable. Negatives: The cut through pockets are a nice idea but functionality is horrible. They don't necessarily line up with the pants underneath and there are 2 holes you have to get your hand through to get to the underneath.. I would often drop my keys on the ground trying to put them in the pockets of the pants I wore underneath. The pockets on the garment are way too shallow to use. So basically you can forget using pockets with these. Durability not good. These are already broke with only a few rides and mild use. June 23, 2014
Great air flow I wore these yesterday, it was a hot, humid day upper 80's. I was hot all day at work, sweating my b**ls off dreading my commute home. I put my gear on got on my bike and to my surprise the air flow was so good I decided to take the long way home. These pants are great, paired with my hooligan jersey I'm so comfortable. I'm not happy to reach my destination when it's hot out. I wear them over shorts or pants. They're nice and baggy not to baggy, just like I like it. June 5, 2014
Buckle failed after half a dozen uses I wore these pants six times. Airflow was good. Fit was a bit on the large size. The buckle is attached to the nylon fabric with two 1/4 inch rivets. These pulled completely out of the fabric and the buckle fell off in my hand when taking off the pants. This appears to be a significant design flaw. I am not sure how Icon expects this to stay attached. The knee armor moves around a lot. I found myself adjusting it frequently and I don't feel confident that it will be where I need it in the event of a crash. Revzilla has been fantastic in regards to the warranty return process. Their customer service is outstanding, as usual. That said, I am out a pair of pants for 4-8 weeks and had to order more gear to fill in the gap. Don't buy these. They are a waste of time and money. Excellent for Hot Days Only I have been wearing these pants for 3 months now, and the Air Flow is fantastic. I love riding in these as an over-pant to shorts here in Texas during the summer. The airflow is too much for anything below 60 degrees F. So, they will be put up until next summer. They do fit to size pretty true to size on the waist with the rest of the pant being baggy. They offer pretty good protection. However, since they are an over-pant, they move around quite a bit on the knees. When I wear jeans underneath, the pads are right where I need them. However, when I wear shorts they move around quite a bit. I still believe they would offer decent protection should I take a spill. I would like to mention that they DO NOT go on without taking my boots off. Another reviewer mention that he could put them on over his boots, but I was not able to do that. Then inner lining gets caught on the tread of my boot to the point that you can't get half a leg on. Overall, I am very happy with these, and I hope to get several years out of them. December 2, 2013

Nicholas D asked: Do these over pants have long zippers to help get in and out of them while still wearing your street pants? If so, how long are they (up to the knee, up to the hip, etc)? Jan 29, 2014

Tom G: The zippers do not go up to your knees--I have two pair of riding boots, they will go over one, but not the other. Really no problem presented by the jeans underneath.

Aside from that these are my most favorite pants--not too hot, and will keep you a bit warm (with jeans underneath) on cooler rides.

Keith D: The zippers on the legs come us about 1/2 way to the knee. These pants are quite easy to get on over jeans as they are very baggy. Simply step into them. I would say however that removal of your shoes is necessary. Jan 30, 2014

Eric J: They don't have long zippers, maybe mid shin or so. I wear them with jeans underneath all the time and they slide over jeans very nicely. My jeans never bunch up as in pulling then on. Jan 30, 2014

HAROLD V: They go up the pants approximately 3-4 inches. I can get them on with pants underneath without problems. I have to have my shoes off because they will not pass through easily. Jan 29, 2014

Clint C: The front zipper is roughly 7" and the lower leg zips are about 8". I haven't had a problem getting in and out of them. I'm a 31" waist and bought the size 32. Jan 29, 2014

Troy P: They zip up the outside of the leg up to the bottom of the knee. I ride with Corcoran jump boots and they go over those without taking the boots off. Jan 29, 2014

J Michael D: Hi Robert,
Nope, no zipper to connect pants to jacket. Had to have mine shortened to fit, but otherwise are nice pants. I wear them over my work clothes - jeans or shorts. Ventilate quite well.

A shopper asked: Are these less baggy than the Hooligan 2? Apr 20, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: We find that the Hooligan 2 and the Anthem both fit about the same, and are on the baggier side since they are over pants. If you are looking for a summer mesh pant that won't be quite as loose, checkout some of the European brands such as Dainese, Alpinestars, and REV'IT!. Apr 26, 2013
