Poor quality
First of all. My gloves came out of the wrapping with two places where the stitching is loose.

In less the 2 weeks of mild riding. 3 other spots has had broken stitching. The build quality of these gloves are terrible. I do like the features and fit of them. It's a shame they are so cheaply made.

Disappointed
I had eagerly awaited these backordered gloves. I love my Held Steves, but the Sambia's were a total disappointment.

I ordered these for a 3 week cross country trip including Alaska. The seams on the inside of one of the gloves actually left abrasions and made my knuckle sore. The right hand was smaller in size than the left. The stitching on the left index finger opened up, and the seam on the right palm/thumb area also failed.

This is the first pair of gloves that I have actually thrown away rather than worn out.

Held should stick to producing gloves in Germany under stricter quality control than outsourcing to China.

Gauntlet gloves from now on...
The Held line of motorcycle gloves are definitely well made and comfortable. The truth is, I loved this glove -- until I went down.

I had a deer shoot through the trees and hit me like a linebacker, sweeping me off of my bike. I was out upon impact and did the rag doll tumble down the asphalt. I've since learned that whitetail deer can hit speeds of over 45mph and the one that hit me was running full-tilt!

The gloves protected my knuckles quite well but the undersize Velcro wrist fastener came loose and I received a very deep road rash on my right wrist.

I have learned my lesson and now wear gauntlet gloves summer and winter.

Held makes great gloves
I've been through dozens of pairs of gloves and since the first time I bought Held, I've never bought anything else. The feel on the controls is unparalleled and the durability is amazing. They look pretty awesome, too. The complete package of functionality and design. They really do, "fit like a glove".

Happy with these gloves
I was going through withdrawal from lack of riding gear purchases. I bought these for the summer commuting in Richmond, VA. It finally got into the 90s and it was hot riding home in the Roadcrafter. I needed a new pair of stylish gloves to accessorize my ATGATT look. I decided I wanted to get a pair of summer gloves without the gauntlet in an attempt to improve air flow through the cuffs and out the arm pit and back vents.

I have a pair of long Held gloves with the Kangaroo palm that I really like. These Sambia seemed to be similar and fit the need as close as I was going to get. I also was able to have a starting point as far as sizing with the old pair.

I called Revzilla to make sure the size was consistent across different models and ordered them the same size based on their recommendation. I have not had much luck ordering gloves online previously due to sizing issues from my unique hands I guess.

The package showed up in 1 business day and I now have a couple of commutes in them and could not be happier...well I could be happier about a lot of things but not motorcycle gloves. They seem to let the air flow up my sleeves better than the longer gloves as I had hoped. At least to my unscientific observational methods. It is still hot when it is in the 90s with high humidity but these are a big improvement and with the materials used are more comfortable in high temperatures then the all leather gloves, that leave the hands sweaty and clammy. I am very pleased so far. If they hold up like the pair I have I will be ecstatic in 5 years.

I am very happy with the gloves, the customer service, the speed of shipment and how fast they arrived. Revzilla surpassed my expectations. I recomend them and merchandise 110%.

Post crash review
I took these gloves on a multi-day trip with the KTM 690 of mixed on-road, dirt road, and trails a few weeks ago and these gloves where great for all but the coldest parts (30-40 deg F). With any speed at all the gloves have plenty of airflow across the back of the hands and between the fingers. My palms did tend to get a bit sweaty in the really slow and hot sections however. No big deal, you certainly wouldn't want a mesh palm!

On the last day of the trip I had a tank slapper on-road at about 60 mph and came off pretty hard. The details of the crash are hazy to me but I gather that my right hand came down palm first and then rolled over so I was sliding with the back of my pinkie and ring finger against the road. The leather wrap part on the pinkie held up admirably, and in retrospect I would've liked it to extend further and cover more of my pinkie since the mesh didn't hold up at all. I would sacrifice the pinkie airflow for a more comprehensive leather piece. The palm of the glove has damage obviously, but basically held up well.

All things considered I think the gloves protected my hand pretty well. I ended up with a small broken wrist bone, half a fingernail missing on my ring finger, and a very deep abrasion on my pinkie, but it could have been so much worse.

I'm on the fence about buying the same gloves again or trying to find something with a bit more protection on the back of the hand, but I definitely recommend these gloves if you need something that flows a lot of air at the expense of some protection.

Very comfortable. Fits to size. Fingers very long...
I went with the size 8 (my palm is 7.5), so I sized up according the Revzilla's suggestion. I would say that this isn't accurate, I think I would have gone down a size to the size 7... the fingers are long for me, and on top of that I have some wiggle room in the palm. I don't necessary like my gloves skin tight, but then again I don't like them too loose, and for this glove with the soft leather and mesh top, I think maybe I could have just gone with the size 7. I guess I'll update my post when I get the size 7 (if they ever come back in stock!!) and let you know how they fit.

Quality glove
No stranger to Held gloves, this is probably my 6th pair. They fit just like I expected them to. They are very comfortable and have good protection where it's needed. They are on the expensive side, but in my experience Held's hold up very well and these should last a long time, so really when you factor in the expense to the longevity, the bang for your buck really is excellant.

Top Shelf Product!
Upon receiving my new Sambia gloves I could tell the level of quality was outstanding. The fit and feel was excellent. Protection in the palm and wrist are excellent and the airflow is spot as well. The fitment chart was pretty close, as I had hoped. The finger length is perfect but the body is a tad big. I'd rather my fingers didn't jam into the tips of the gloves so I'm happy. One suggestion would be to make a better wrist strap that could tighten up some more.
All in all I am very pleased with my new gloves and can't wait to put many, many miles on them!

excellent gloves
I read good things about these gloves and waited for them to come back in stock from backorder. When they were back in stock I immediately ordered them. They were shipped in typical uber-quick Revzilla style. I received them in 2-3 days.

These gloves are very comfortable, easy to put on, and allow good feel through to the motorcycle controls. They are the perfect compromise of protection and comfort. Not too big and bulky like a gauntlet, yet not in any way dinky and weak. I love them!

Beefy ulna protection for a short cuff glove as well as super fabric on the palm side. Also heard great things about kangaroo leather. We'll see how the durability stands up but for now they are extremely comfortable They do break in but very slightly. Read reviews about sizing.

I love the quality and fit of Held gloves - well worth the premium! These are great hot weather commuter gloves, good protection and the airflow from the knuckle vents is awesome.
unScarred on Mar 21, 2016
In my experience, I've owned 8-10 pair of Held gloves over the years, have travelled in all weather conditions for tens of thousands of miles, and no glove I have found matches the quality, feel, durability, and protection of Held products. I currently own a Held Jacket as well, and am equally pleased.
Sue W on Mar 11, 2016
i've got held winter gloves and these just make sense, used with heater grips these are great for summer and those spring/fall days with huge temperature differentials.
lowell T on Mar 4, 2016
Wanted to use with Klim Badlands jacket. Cuff on wrist interferes with the sleeve cuff on the jacket. It doesn't work well under and won't go over the sleeve. Lunate protection is good but scaphoid is not. Also hard knuckle is uncomfortable. Held sizing is not to chart at all. If the chart says you need a large you probably need an XL or XXL. Chart says I wear a 9 but I have ordered 10, 11 and they are too small now I am waiting for a size 12.
Roger D on Feb 19, 2016
would not purchase again, had to repair them twice due to leather seams coming unstitched. Repairs worked but it took quite some time so I purchased the fox bomber (for half the price of the Held). Haven't looked back, the bomber is now my favorite dualsport glove.

Looking for protection and fit. Good on both counts but poor stitching around the thumb came apart after about a year. Note that I did not wear these gloves exclusively for that time. Also the leather faded seriously in the Florida sun.

Warm weather gloves with superior protection and features. Great air flow. I sized up due to concerns it would fit too snugly. Now I can easily wear a liner when the temps drop.

I tried on in the store and really really liked them, even though I was looking to buy a full gauntlet that day. I ended up with the HELD EVO THRUX that day and was very happy, so a few months later I decided to order the SAMBIA as a short-cuff alternative, based solely on that fit experience and my recent experience with my new EVO THRUXs. My previous gloves were REV'IT (don't remember model) and the finger lengths didn't quite match my hand. Both HELDs I have fit well.

Patrick D on Sep 15, 2013
I like a short glove with a bit of wrist protection, and these fit the bill. There is a seam that runs over the carpal bone of the thumb that's quite uncomfortable. I did try a size up but they were way too big. My first pair blew a seam on the first day of a 10 day trip. A replacement is on it's way. Venting and feel are very good. I wouldn't purchase these again. I think the high end Helds are worth it, but these are over priced for what you get IMO.

Does this glove has a Visor Wiper? It looks like it in the photos, but not in the review video. Was there an update/change in the product mid-cycle?
Thomas M on Jun 4, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Sort of. There is a flimsy piece of rubber on the index finger finger but I wouldn't say it actually works well as a visor wipe (especially when I compare it to my rev'it h2o gloves and the strip works awesome).
Does this gloves have the availability to control touchscreen devices like an iPhone?
Miguel M on Sep 21, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hi Miguel, I have a nokia Lumia 920 and there is a setting on the phone to be able to use it with gloves. When I put it on the normal sensitivity, it was still working, definately not as smoothly, usable, but might be a little frustrating for any real use. Best answer I could give you hope it helps.
What happened to The namib?
A shopper on Sep 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I think you mean the Sambia glove. This is the picture depiciton contained herein. I dont think I've ever heard of a KLIM Namib glove. BUt the Sambia is a great dual sport, adventure glove and Revzilla still carries such. I had a pair of these for well over 3 years and even after having both hands stitched up (gloves that is), I use the pair often in fair weather. My pair has well over 10k miles on them and no material wear thrus at all.
How do these fit women?
