Directions were a joke
The finish and seeming durability were what I was hoping for. However, the directions came in French only (my shipping address was in the US. I get that we are uneducated but no need to shove it in our faces, Revzilla). The parts were intuitive enough to put on the bike without the written word. I only had to take it off and reassemble it once. I still wonder what the warning signs said though...

Vibrations at higher RPMs
The instruction manual was a joke, but was enough to figure out how to install the guards without too much difficulty. It took some wiggling to get everything lined up, and tightening down the brackets was fun. Make sure to do this with a cold engine to avoid being burned.
I had heard about these bars causing vibrations in the handlebars at 6k RPMs and up, but I feel a lot of vibration in the foot pegs and lower part of the bike at 5k RPM, and a good amount of vibration in the bars at 6.3k RPM and up. It's bad, but not intolerable. When riding, I can reach down and feel how much the bars are vibrating, and it's a lot.
I bought these bars because they were the cheapest bars out there that covered the fairings as well. I will be buying better bars when I can afford them, and selling these. The vibrations start to get to you when riding long distances.
Bottom line (tl;dr):
These are good bars for the money, but there are better ones out there. If you can afford other bars, buy those instead.
I have heard that installing a piece of rubber between the bars and bike can help reduce the vibration. I have not tried this yet, but I will. Others have filled the bars with BBs or foam to reduce vibration. I will consider trying these tricks as well.
2006 DL650, no skid plate, stock handlebars and bar end weights, stock windshield and hand guards, aftermarket heated grips, Givi Monokey side cases, everything else is stock.

Saved the bike!!
I bought the engine guards as a gift for my son and his newest bike. He'd had the guard on for 2 weeks when late one night he turned a corner into a car with no lights on, wrong side of street, and went down trying to avoid it. The guards did a great job of protecting his bike, which emerged with fairly minor damage - as did he. Without them, his bike would not have fared so well.

Haven't had to evaluate the durability yet but I believe you could pull a truck from them.
The instructions, not that you really need them are kinda lacking but the install was still easy.

These engine guards are WELL worth the money. While not inexpensive, they cost significantly less than the OEM equivalent. They look AMAZING. They give the bike a more aggressive and sturdy look. Quick and easy to install. Be aware: I have the Suzuki OEM lower fairing on my 2012 DL650--it was necessary for me to cut a very small section of the fairing out (underneath the radiator) to accommodate the crash bars. When I say very, I mean very, small, so don't let this discourage you. The finished product looks amazing, and gives peace of mind that critical parts of the bike will have some protection in the event of a fall.

These bars look great with my 2012 V-Strom 650. I had some issues installing them, but I have a feeling it was something to do with improper tools and the lack of loctite. Had the dealership help me with them and they look great.

Givi crash bars already saved the bike
The install was easy maybe 1-1.5 hours taking my time, including test fitting and then going through and applying loctite before setting proper torque specs. Unforunately I tested the crash bars only a few days after installing them, a low speed laydown 4 mph on concrete . The bars gave up a little paint, but otherwise are perfect, very happy I purchased them.
