It does the job, eventually
Well, you have to use this, so there really isn't a choice, and eventually, it works just fine. The instructions are difficult to interpret, and the holes on the pieces did not line up, requiring some drilling, not something I expected.

Excellence in Engineering
I bought the V46 Topbox for my last ride, the BMW G650GS. When I traded it in for the Ducati, I had a choice of getting a Duc Topbox for $1000!! (pretty sure these are OEMed from Givi) or the bracket for the Multi for $150.
So I think $150 is probably a bit steep for something that should just bolt onto the bike, right. Still, it's a LOT less expensive than paying the Brand Tax.
Also Givi gives a lot more options for different luggage if I want to head off-road, or to the airport with a carry-on bag.
The bracket has a couple of metal struts that attach to the underside of the pillion seat. This allows the bracket to extend out beyond the back of the bike. Ultimately this gives the pillion more room. This is a good thing.
Once these struts are attached (remove 2 screws on either side, replace with the longer screws from Givi supplied with the bracket) and attached to the aft of the grab rail; you simply screw on the plastic baseplate.
The baseplate was a little disappointing on one hand. The BMW plate was metal. On the other, it has a pop out hole so you can attach the brake light kit. Sweet.
All in all, fitting took about 20 mins. The top box needs a little more force to attach to the plate than I'm used to. But once it's on, it's solid. There is no budging it.
So there you go - if you have a Multi, the Givi Monokey topboxes are better value for money, with more versatility, and a stronger bracket, than the branded ones. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
Top box off, the bike still looks great. Most people won't even notice the base plate attachment, and the panniers still fit fine.
