A shopper asked:I have a Garmin 3597LM which i would like to transfer to my motorcycle. This mount looks like it should work but I was wondering if it will and how i can water proof it? Or is there another set up?Oct 23, 2014
Daniel L:The mount will not work as the units are totally different. This is for ZUMO (the motorcycle GPS). The Nuvi are considered "indoor use" only (inside car). Very different animals. The Nuvi is NOT water proof or resistant though many people use them on bikes. If you ride long distance you WILL hit rain and rain is not good for Nuvi. The Zumo can handle the rain well.Nov 18, 2014
Capt. Eric B:I have had three of these mounts and never had a issue with water on a RT, Drz 400 and a 990 adventure. I have heard of some problems with contacts and water but never seen it. A little spray lubricant and use the supplied cover when GPS is not on it and I think you will be good to go. I also have a few buddies with the same setup with no issuesOct 23, 2014
A shopper asked:Where can I buy a cover for this unit so it doesn't get wet when the bike is parked overnight? Would like something that looks good for the days I ride to work and don't need the GPS. By the way, why didn't GARMIN design a way to lock this unit into the mount? It's awfully easy for it to grow legs and walk away.Jun 10, 2015
