Kuryakyn Universal P-Clamp Mounting Bracket

Kuryakyn's stainless steel P-Clamp is one slick little clamp that has many uses. It works great for mounting lights to frame tubes or engine guards as well as other parts and accessories. Its hinged design makes installation easy. Mounting is very secure because this clamp is secured to the tubing by both a flat head screw and the fastener used to attach the accessory.

Features:

  • Available from 7/8" to 1 5/8" diameter as well as 39-41mm
  • Clamp has 5/16" mounting hole

Worked Great, High Quality
I purchased two of these to mount my Hi Tech lights on my Indian Scout forks. All worked very well. I only wish they came in black. (I know I can paint them, but still wish there was a black version)

Used to install spot lights to bike frame on NC700x
Used these P-Clamps to install a set of spot lights directly to the frame structure of my NC700x. The original screws were not long enough (only grabbing about 3 1/2 turns) and with the painted (not powder coated) surface, the extra buildup caused the head of the flat head screw to stick out above the surface. I purchased a set of slightly longer stainless screws and also inserted a stainless washer between the two ears to avoid bending as it was torqued down tight to the bike frame. A bit pricey at $20 each, but works well.

Needed modification, but works!
When looking to purchase this product for my crashbars, I was torn between the 1" and 1 1/8". My crashbars are around 28mm/29mm, which is barely on the cusp of 1 1/8". I took a gamble and went with the larger one. I made the wrong decision. As a Machinist, the first thing I noticed is that these are casted products, not precision machined. However, with access to only work machines (They do not allow extra-curricular activities) and not my own, and it would take several hours of planning and machining, this is the reason why I must buy online. At first, it seemed to work, but I tried to create extra spacers using sheet metal because the clamps were still loose. Then, when torquing one down, I heard a crack. The hole of the hinge was drilled off-center, making for a very thin metal on one side of the hinge. The AAA+ factor of this was that Revzilla was extremely awesome at their customer service! They sent a new pair of the smaller size for free. I offered to send the others back, they said that was not necessary. The clamps came in and still needed to be sanded out a little on the inside diameter to go around the crash bars (Again, my crash bars being between the two sizes). Now, they work! It is important to note that I wanted steel (for strength) and that I stripped the $75 Denali brand clamps because they are aluminum and using metric threads, which is a train-wreck in of itself... So finally, I am satisfied with this product. I apologize for the long read, but hopefully, this was very informative. I recommend this steel product if your crash bars are < or > 28mm/29mm, otherwise you'll have to modify.
