Waterproof, Yes Gaerne G King boots is a very waterproof boot. I purchased these boots to supplement my summer boots which are perforated and are not waterproof. My first ride with these boots was twenty miles in heavy rain. And my feet were dry and comfortable, and they have been comfortable down to about the mid forties. The fit for these boots is about a half size large, but this might be corrected by wearing heavier socks. They are not heavy, bulky or cumbersome and the first time on felt like the shoes I've worn for six months. I didn't buy these for air flow, so I'll see what they're like in the summer. I expect they might be a little warm. Overall, very satisfied with the money spent December 8, 2014
Love these boots I've been wearing these Gaerne G.King boots to work. Amazingly comfortable. Best fit ever. November 17, 2014
Good boots A quality boot that's quite comfortable. Would recommend. April 7, 2014
Good boots, gonna be warm in the summer These boots are comfortable. I was worried that "Italian" would mean narrow, but they fit just fine. Construction is solid, and they have passed my (so far minimal) waterproofiness tests. The airflow is minimal below the ankle, but even so I haven't had any problems with heat yet... they might get toasty on long rides once the temperature gets over 80, but that's par for the course. April 5, 2014
Nice boot Nice touring boot fit is a little large for my foot but still pretty good. Rode in a down pour and foot stayed dry if not a little warm. However during the colder month will be just what I'm after. Like the simple style which doesn't have to much going on. Just a real nice looking boot. March 24, 2014
excellant sport touring boot these boots are replacing an old very reliable pair of alpinestars, bought these on a recommendation by a friend, these boots are high quality, well built, great Italian leather, tested this winter in rain some heavy and some snow completely waterproof and with a good pair of thermal socks my feet were toasty down in the low 30sF, thin sole good for sport oriented rides, also very comfortable off the bike for extended periods of time. virtually no break in time required and on first ride in boots had no mis-shifts, solid protection, room for sole inserts, size was accurate to my normal size and boots do run a little narrow. March 11, 2014
Fits true to size, feels like a solid built boot. If there was one thing I would have liked to have seen on this boot - it'd have been a thicker sole. Granted this will be used as a cold weather boot and may not see extensive use, a little thicker sole would give this boot 5 stars. November 18, 2013
These boots filled all my expectations. I only wish they were a bit cooler. It's a good product. About airflow, I have my reservations. It all boils down to, you want more, pay more. October 28, 2013

RevZilla Store asked: Why did you choose this?
Jim B: Good boots, fit well, comfortable, good price Sep 12, 2015
Michael H: Had a pair of Gaerne boots for 20 years, they held up really well.

Prefer the lower bling factor of this brand over Sidi and others.

These are much nicer than the previous pair.

    Very happy with them.

Thomas M: Excellent boot. Good foot support and great protection for the feet. That includes weather and potential forced spill situations and I speak from experience. Made from good quality materials. You may be able to buy a similar boot for less money, but nowhere near the quality the aforementioned boots offer. Nov 17, 2014
Kevin C: my old alpinestars are beat up and read the reviews on may different sites and boards, have a friend that has these boots same size, tried them for a couple of rides and found them more comfortable and flexible for sport touring type of riding Dec 7, 2013
Todd W: Have had great experience with Gaerne MX boots, so decided to give their touring boots a try. Aug 23, 2013
Eric L asked: It doesn't appear there is any way to adjust the width of the top opening on these boots. Is that the case? Dec 3, 2013

    mark k: Eric,

Yes, the top opening is pretty fixed. There is a velcro but the top of the boot is stiff and there isn't any real adjustment here. Overall, I like the boots and would buy again. Because of the wider opening, there was a little initial tightness when trying to pull jeans down over the boots however this seems to have lessened over time, not sure why. Possibly the boots have become more compliant as they've broken in. I usually wear boot cut jeans which are a little wider at the bottom. There may be a limitation with narrow bottom type pants as they may need to go inside the boot. Hope this helps.

John M: No. But if you buy the boot to fit your foot I don't think you will have any problems. I wear them over my leather track pants that have a zipper down to my ankle. I love these boots. I will never buy another brand- Italian leather, quality, style and years of wear. I also have a pair of their off road boots & love them. They take the abuse and are comfortable the moment that you put your foot in them. I ordered 1/2 size larger-perfect. Dec 9, 2013

Eric L: Thanks John and Kei. I should have specified -- I have skinny legs and want to make sure the top of the boot isn't too loose on my calf. Also I usually wear my pants over the boots, so being able to snug them down is helpful if the pants aren't very wide. I think these aren't the boots for me. Dec 9, 2013

igor l: They opens quite wide - no problem to put them on
But no, you can't really adjust them when close - the velcro flap over the zipper won't give you that option.
But in general they are a great boots - will keep you feet dry and comfy.

Richard K: That is correct. There is no width adjustment. However, there is a significant amount of room unless you have extremely large calves. They are great boots that comfortable and completely waterproof.

Ben B: There isn't any adjustment up top on these boots. I found that the instep held my foot in and the cuff gave me a little room to keep things comfortable when the balls of your feet are on the pegs. Dec 9, 2013

Kei U: No there is not. It will only be as tight or as wide as the given size. Meanwhile, the leather is very soft and of good quality so they really do fit nicely to yours. (At least for me they did) Dec 9, 2013

Another pair when these are shot. Warm and dry in rain.

Abdulla A asked: Would these boots be comfortable to wear all day at work in an office? Or will the height make it hot or too stiff with time and I should just go with the G-flow? May 9, 2015

Scot P: First, I am very happy with the G King boot and without hesitation buy them again. I purchased the G King for the winter riding. I needed something to keep my feet dry (and warm too) because I ride year round, rain or shine.
The G King is not a stiff boot. It is very comfortable with a lot of (feel) feed back through the sole while shifting and braking. My concern, I have large calf muscles and the top of the boot is a snug fit, so air circulation is minimal at best. I could wear these at work and one time I did because I forgot to pack shoes. But when I got home, a little more through cleaning (deodorizing)....
The G-Flow may be a better choice for you if you want the air circulation and not worried about being water proof.

tyler k: I tried wearing mine to work a couple times. They are formed for a sport touring riding position not an office chair riding position. I ended up sitting bare foot at my desk. Definitely worth bringing an extra pair of shoes with you. I think the G.Flow will be shaped the same way. I also think you'd be hard pressed to find a riding boot that is office comfortable for 8-10 hours a day. I like my G.Kings, just for riding though. May 9, 2015

    Grant D: Abdulla,
I find these boots to be very comfortable and really have no issues when I wear them for an extended period. However this is when I'm riding and walking around stoping for gas. Not sure how they would work in an office as a touring boot they are very comfy.

A shopper asked: Do these boots run narrow like the Sidi boots, or are they wider like the Alpinestar boots? If they are narrow like the Sidi boots, do you have a suggestion for something that is comparable as far as features are concerned, but that has a wider fit?

DarkHelmet: They seem to run average or possibly even slightly wider. I normally wear an 11, I bought these in 11.5 in order to be sure I could fit an arch-support insole as well as thick wool socks (I always buy my hiking boots 1/2 size up due to these reasons). My feet are definitely not narrow. Resulting fit for me is PERFECT, these boots are very comfortable, easy to get on, and I definitely don't feel any pressure on the sides of my feet. Feb 2, 2012
Reply to DarkHelmet Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Bruche: I have these boots and don't consider them narrow. the width is average and keeps the foot solidly placed in the boot so it doesn't slide around. I usually wear somewhat thicker socks with no problem. My BMW all round boots are wider and allow the foot to move around more inside. they are sightly better for hot weather. Feb 27, 2013

Stevan P: The are fairly neutral in width. Not as narrow as the Sidi's, but definitely not wide. The G.King Boots have been a very popular option and suggest checking them out! Jan 19, 2012

A shopper asked: Im wear a size 10wide or EE boot. Are there any motorcycle boots that might fit. I am also concerned about the shank holding up for kick starting the bike. I do off road riding as well as street. No moto x. Can you recommend a boot? Aug 16, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
    Mark W: Hello,

I wear a size 13 and have narrow feet so I can't help much with the width - sorry. I don't see a problem with the shank holding up depending on how often you kick start the bike, but for serious off-road work I would not recommend these boots as the grip in the dirt would not be as solid as a true adventure boot.

These are awesome road boots and I have even been able to get some early summer use out of them, took a 6 hr ride in a downpour and they worked as advertised and kept my feet dry. I hope this helps, good luck!

Thomas M: Great boot, good quality and comfortable to walk in. Also provide excellent support and protection. And I speak of their protection qualities from my own personal experience. Good foul weather protection in the rain. I'd purchase another pair in a New York minute. Thomas M. Aug 22, 2014
