Firstgear Mesh Tex Gloves
This is a nice light comfortable glove for those hot summer days. I wear them for commuting and I'm very happy with their comfort and ventilation.
Obviously the trade off is ultimate protection...I wouldn't want to go down in such a lightweight glove but that's my choice.
Taking a track day? Not the glove to wear.

Nice glove, weird fit
I like the features and the appearance, but they just fit my hands weird.
First, I have to squeeze my hand through the cuff. It's a really narrow opening. To be fair, my palms are wide and my fingers are average length, so gloves don't always fit me well. Most XL gloves fit me, some a tad loose after they stretch out. These are snug, and I don't think this material will stretch. That's probably what brings me to my second issue, the hard knuckles really feel uncomfortable once I make a fist or grip. I don't know if it's from being snug or where they line up on my knuckles, or both. My third and most annoying issue is the palm padding. It just feels really weird to me when I'/m holding something. When I'm riding, I'm constantly adjusting my grip to get the pad resting in the right spot. It's the one thing I always seem to notice when I'm zoning out on a nice ride.
Now for the good. I really like the design of the cuff. It covers the wrist more than most short cuff gloves. The "mesh tex" material seems very durable and resistant to stretching. I suspect it'd hold up well in slow speed slides. These gloves are incredible in hot weather. It's about as much airflow as you can get on your hands and still be wearing a glove. The fact that you have a durable material, hard knuckles and they feel like your barely wearing a glove is pretty amazing. I wish in my case they didn't feel so weird once I'm holding the bars because they offer a lot for a decent price.
I'm sure most of you won't have these same issues, but if you have wide palms and short fingers, be warned This glove may not work for you.

Great gloves, would buy again.
Gloves are great for warm weather, hands start getting cold around 45 F. Love the fit, love the style. Some people complain about the wrists being tight to get your hands into but it gives me the feeling that these gloves won't come off with a bit of friction and I like that.

Reasonable value for the money
Let's face it, this isn't the most expensive piece of equipment you will be buying. There is decent value for the money here.
The Firstgear Mesh Tex gloves are a little snug, particularly getting them on and I purchased one size larger than I normally do. Once you have them on they feel good, light and secure and not to tight. The cuff seems to be the issue for me.
The knuckle protectors are a little Mad Max like and I'm not sure how effective they would actually be.
In the end it's just a pair of gloves, they wont last for ever and probably will get better before they get worse.

Look great, durability in question
I bought these one year ago. I wear a medium glove, so I bought a medium in this glove. Fits well once on my hand, however, getting it on isn't easy. It's been a year, actually only 6 months of daily use, putting them on is not any easier. Because it's so difficult to put on an the placement of the velcro, the index finger on both gloves has worn through the material.
First gear will replace them under warranty but the rep said they have not heard of this happening to others.
Not sure if I'll keep the next pair, they seem to have a design flaw... Wrist opening too small and index fingers should be leather (to prevent shredding), I've attached photos.
Since I normally put right glove in first, the left index is shredding quicker, but both are wearing quickly.
Suggestion to First Gear: 1) Bigger opening for inserting hand, don't really need the velcro if you leave opening so small 2) index finger should be of more durable material

The airflow is amazing through these gloves
The airflow through the gloves is great. On a hot day these gloves will keep your hands cool. They run a little small so I'd go a size larger than you would usually wear.

Good but not perfect.
I bought these summer gloves to replace the Chicane Street gloves I could longer get.
Although there is good knuckle armor, the rest is pretty slight. The two issues I have is the wrist is too small for an XXL glove making them hard to get on and off. The other is the palm material is slick on the grips which causes me to grip tighter which causes fatigue in my hands.
Overall, for an inexpensive glove they will do but my search continues for a replacement the Chicanes.

This is an awesome glove. It breaks in quickly and is super comfortable. I am loving these gloves and would recommend them to anyone. They breath really well (I've worn them in ranges of 50 - 90* F and they are wonderful. Sizing is spot on. I'm usually a medium in most gloves, and a medium in these fits great.
