Excellent fit and styling.
After many returns of my first choice of jackets, I ended up with this one by default due to sizing......I was kinda out of options. I am 6'6" inches tall, weigh 325 lbs and due to being and ex bodybuilder, my chest measurement and arm size is always restrictive with regards to clothing.
I received this jacket and it fits like a glove. The fit chart was spot-on.
Excellent styling, very functional and it seems silly to pay for some of those "high-priced" jackets if all you pay for at the end of the day is the "label". This jacket has most (if not all) of the functions of those "high dollar" jackets and does what it is supposed to; keep you dry and warm. Well see how the fall protection stands up to the challenge but I don't intend on testing that feature. After all, the aim is to keep the shiny side up while riding.
Good job FIELDSHEER!

Worth every penny
I spent over a month researching a multi-purpose jacket to get me through most of our seasons in mid-west (except snow!).

I finally concluded that I was going to have to spend a bit more than I had originally budgeted in order to get something that had all the features I wanted. These were:

Water resistance
Included protective inserts for arms and spine
Multi season liner with zip in sleeves (on the cuff)
Reflective but not bright yellow or orange
Solid coverage up to neck with neck attachment or scarf for cold weather

This jacket had them all. After doing a bit more research, Revzilla had a great price and free shipping and a great return policy, so I bought the jacket.

Even though there was six inches of snow on the ground when it arrived, I immediately tried it on and it fit perfectly. I'm 5'11" and 220 pounds 46 suit and the XL fits great.

My first ride in this was a relatively warm 60 degree day we had here (for March). It was sunny, no wind and I took about an hour ride around the back roads. The liner was removed, so this was just the outer shell. I was totally comfortable in this set up at 60 degrees. I could easily see this jacket working up to 75-80 with the vents open.

I was finally able to cold road test this weekend and it totally lived up to my high expectations. It was 39 and windy when I went to pick up the bike from storage and I was dreading the ride home. I was so nice and warm in this that I was able to ride around a bit extra and enjoy the day. Even the full gusts of wind that pushed me back in my seat did not get through this jacket.

Great fit, many pockets, nice attention to detail on zippers, connections for liners, and more. This jacket has it all and it looks great too.

Enjoy the ride.

Fieldsheer Adventure Tour Jacket
Snapped this up when I saw it would be offered in size 4XLT. I like a bit extra sleeve-length, This fits nicely, no tight spots. I'm 6'2" and 260 lbs, (54" midriff). Made of a brushed, soft natural to the touch synthetic, Very comfortable. The colors are beautiful; the lighter grey is more grey and less white than shown. Main zipper is strong and easy to use. Comes with a thick, warm, wind-resistant liner. The liner makes the jacket more snug than I'd like. The jacket has what looks like epaulets on the shoulder, but in fact are zippered vents. Although I hope it works well, I am skeptical that these epaulet vents will keep rain etc out even when zipped and velcro'd closed. It has rudimentary pockets. Pockets should receive the max possible attention in such jackets. My own plan is wear a fishing vest underneath. The Cordura is a middle weight, but with much of it double-layered in impact zones. The armor is decent and nicely spread around where needed. It would be nice if they provided more protection to the front of the shoulders rather than only the back and top. But it's a keeper for me. Acceptable, and rare to find in my size.

great cool season jacket
Rode in low 30 temps with the matching pants. With both liners in place and the neck guard I was very comfortable. When it was low 60's both liners were a little to much and I was reaching for vents on the highway. Rode home in high 70's with both liners out, all vents open and was very comfortable. I'm 5'10 180 and the medium tall was a perfect fit for me as I have a large wingspan. Will not be a great option for hot weather touring. You'd have to unzip it to the point of losing protection. All in all great product from Fieldsheer and I'm happy with the product

Very good looking jacket.
Riding in coastal India, at about 28°C ~ 40°C (when it is not raining), this jacket is comfortable and keeps cool ONLY with all vents unzipped. And with heavy rains 22°C, keeps you dry in rain, but at this temperature, its sweaty inside, specially with the vents zipped and the rain liner on. (2 ~ 5 hrs of riding).
Monthly rides to the hill stations, at about 20°C ~ 8°C, the jacket keeps you warm enough with the rain layer, but without the thermal layer. (5 ~ 6 hrs of riding).
Excellent feel and build quality.

Good Quality / Great Value
This is only my second try at a textile jacket and the first one (a very cheap jacket) kept me away for more than a decade. I had to upgrade my leather jacket to a year round jacket since I decided to use my bike for commuting. So far, my commutes to work (20 highway miles each way) have been in weather between 40 and 65 degrees. The jacket is more than capable of handling temps down to 40 and is easily opened up and de-layered for use at the higher end of that range. First impression is this jacket will not be usable in the South Carolina summer heat/humidity as the venting is good but not necessarily great. The again, you can get heat stroke in a tee shirt during the summer around here......
I'm 6'2", 215 with a 46 chest and 38-40 waist. The 2XL fits near perfectly in the body/sleeves and will accommodate an additional layer for cold (nothing too thick though). Getting the Velcro on the removable collar to match up has been a little tricky but the collar provides good wind protection once you get it adjusted.
All things considered, the jacket is comfortable, feels/looks to be of good quality, has ample adjustments to get the fit right, has plenty of pockets and is more than doing the job. Definitely a good bang for the buck that won't make you feel like you settled for what you could afford.

Great!
Had the opportunity to test the jacket today. Started my ride at 35 degrees, ended at 62. I was comfortable throughout the day with only a relatively thin underlayer. I'm very happy with the look and versatility. I have not had the opportunity to test it in warmer weather with layers removed and the vents open (although I purchased it as specifically for cool/cold weather) or in rain.

One note of warning: this seems to run quite small. I am 6'1", 215 lbs with quite wide shoulders and the 2XL is a bit on the snug side with all the layers on while, with most brands, XL has room to spare for me. I would probably not have been able to wear multiple thick layers underneath.

Overall, highly recommended. Very happy with style, function and comfort.

Great features for this price point
I was torn between this jacket and the Rev'It! Sand 2, but in the end I couldn't personally justify spending ~$200 more on the Sand 2 (including new back protector) when the Fieldsheer offers a lot of the same features.

So far the construction seems very good, and the jacket vents well. It's not going to replace my mesh jacket for the summer, but I'm happy with it up to about 90 degrees F.

The fit seems to be on the large side. I have a 40 inch chest and fit well into a size small. With both liners in the jacket is snug but not tight or uncomfortable. With the liners out the jacket is roomy.

I haven't gotten to test it in very cold weather yet (it's still warm in Texas), but walking around the house with both liners in the jacket is extremely warm.

Very adaptable.
This jacket has great reflective material, airflow, and storage. It is also very adjustable for weather or gut size. It is well made. Coming from the sport crowd, I'd like to see a 3/4 zipper around the waist for additional safety. It has an 8 inch zipper from pants to to jacket which is better than nothing. Overall it's a Recommended jacket.

I have an older version of the same jacket that is starting to show its age and it is time to replace it. It has always kept me warm and DRY. That is important to a 4 Season Rider in the Pacific Northwest.

I'm tall and slender, this jacket with the tall sizes fits me well. Also, the ability to remove the various layers makes it functional across a broader weather range.

I'm not clear if the outer Maxtena-pro is waterproof. Rainguard barrier technology is mentioned, but no claim about waterproof without the liner. Any thoughts? thanks
A shopper on Mar 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have another Fieldsheer jacket I picked up about 6 months ago (Supersport) with the same material. I recently did a moto-camping trip and was inundated with rain and snow for most of the trip. I accidentally left the jacket out in the rain, on my bike, overnight while it rained. The next day, the inside of the jacket and the bike under the jacket were dry. I wore it that day and did not feel wet at all. I don't think they consider the Maxtena-pro to be "waterproof" but I would absolutely consider it "weather resistant". With the inner liner it becomes water-proof.

Hopefully this is helpful.
I am curious as to the sleeve length on this jacket. Even in the tall sizes the 2XL shows a measurement of 29.5 inches on the size chart as the length for the sleeves, which seems very short especially for a "Tall" motorcycle jacket. I am 6'5" and in dress shirts i usually buy them with a 36/37 sleeve. When I measure as the size chart tells you to from the middle of the neck down the outside of my arm, i read 34 inches to my wrist. Will this fit me? if not what are similar options that will fit? (I am also looking at the Firstgear TPG Rainier, but I think I prefer a jacket with removable under-layers) I am looking for a 4 season adventure jacket. I am riding a 2014 BMW R1200 GSA.
Ricky H on Jan 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Ricky - I have had this jacket for about a month. I think the sleeve length might be measured differently by Fieldsheer - from armpit to wrist (due to armor in shoulders changing the measure) I am only 5'11" but wear a 33/34 sleeve. The Large size fits well - maybe a 1/2" too long - 2XL should be pretty close. I am a bodybuilder and get a similar measurement from mid-neck to wrist (34-35"). Certainly my arms are not as long as yours. Regarding the jacket - its proving very warm - in the cool weather can wear a long sleeve t-shirt in 40 degrees. The fit is long - and covers my backside (very handy for rain, snow and cold riding). So far the jacket is great bang for the buck - but I have not tested it in heavy rain yet. I bought this to replace an 8 year old BMW Rally 2 jacket that has been around the world (on a 1200GS). You are right to go with removable layers - especially for heavy touring. Hope this helps.
Is the outer shell waterproof? There is a mention of Rainguard barrier protection, but no mention of water protection without the liner being used. Thanks
