I like this jacket, good construction/material I'm 5'10 with 40-41 inch chest and ordered the size 52 Xantum d-dry jacket. The fit is great. It is snug and fits perfectly with the insider liner in. I have ridden in 32 degree (F) weather and I'm still warm. Any colder and I'll have to get heated gloves, but I'm thinking the jacket will still do good. I have had it only a couple months so I haven't taken out the inner liner yet and used it for warmer weather. The protection seems good and bought the back protector to go with it. I think this was a great buy and looks really good to. I ride a Ducati Monster 696, so I get plenty of head wind. December 6, 2013
A Great Three Season Jacket After looking at quite a few jackets, I decided on the Dainese Xantum D-Dry. So far, this has been an excellent jacket and has held up very well in colder temperatures down to low 30s F and has kept me dry in a few rain storms. I paired this jacket with Dainese Tomsk D-Dry pants and the combination is very good. The jacket is very comfortable, warm and looks really good in person. The fit is pretty sporty, not a race fit, but not big and bulky either. November 22, 2013
Good Fit, Good Looks, Excellent Quality I'm 5'6" - 150lbs with a 93cm / 36.6in chest and 54cm / 21.25in sleeve length (yeah, awkward lengths I know!) I was worried about getting a jacket with too long of sleeves or too tight of a chest. Ordered a 48 and it fits perfectly, if not a bit snug. Excellent for fall riding in Colorado, especially with the liner inside. Take the liner out and it'll probably last you through all of spring and the first few weeks of summer before getting too hot. Bought this on a closeout deal. Not sure if I would have purchased it at it's original pricing of $340 though. November 18, 2013
Great Jacket for the Pacific North West! This is my first fall/winter season jacket . I don't have a comparison jacket, but I will say that this is a great first jacket. Comfortable, fits to size , and visible with moderate weather conditions. I rode through 3 degrees this morning wearing minimal work clothes and didn't feel a thing. Waterproof is great though I haven't gone through heavy downfall-yet. Protection... I can't rate fully and I hope never to rate it, but for what its worth the jacket has solid shoulder and elbow guards. Overall a great jacket for the price! I recommend buying the back protector for fall and winter riding! November 16, 2013
Great surprise I bought a number 50 (my chest is 39~40 inches) without even try, only using the size chart. Served perfectly. Excellent product, with a breathtaking design. I'm curious to see how it behaves in our Brazilian summer. November 14, 2013
It begs to go riding Waow!!! The best word I can use to describe the feel of this jacket once I put in on. It cuddles around you like a protective pillow. I love the feel and looks of this jacket. I was a bit worried about the sizing since I ordered it online but hey, the size chart is there and it is accurate. I ordered size 44; I am 5’4 with chest at 86cm (33”) and 112 lbs. It does its job on cold days, keeps me dry when it rains and also, I had a chance to test it one very hot day (27*C or 80F) this month and, with all the vents open it was not uncomfortable. Quality wise, I want to believe it is there because I don’t want to find that out by skidding on the pavement. Nevertheless, I think it is the best all-around jacket I’ve ever had: stylish, protective, comfortable with 3-seasons functionality. May 31, 2013
Excellent Product!! Ordered size 48, my height 5'6", chest average 135-138 and the jacket fit perfect. I can also comfortably wear my Gerbings Heated Jacket liner with comfort. I've ridden in average temperatures so far from 28-60 degrees without any problems. The only thing I did fine was the zipper liner is about an inch longer when zipped with my Daniese Tomsky D-dry pants but again, no problems. The fit and look with the pants are form fitting and I've already received many compliments. I haven't worn them yet with my Dainese Drake Air Textile pants but look forward to it. I would defintely recommend this jacket and thanks again to great Revzilla customer sales support. March 16, 2013

E D: Hi Ali. Revzilla contacted me to help answer your question. I purchased the Xantum D-Dry Jacket Euro 50, 40 US, and matched up with Tomsk D-Dry Pants in Sept. I am 5'-8", 40 chest, 155 lb. I purchased the same size as my 15 year old Dainese Luce 2 piece leathers, and it fits true to size. The jacket with liner is a nice fit for me. I like to wear thin thermo poly long sleeve shirt under, breathes well, cooling when hot, warm when cool. The jacket is very warm with liner, rode comfortably in 35-40 F in Coastal Drizzle with 3500 ft elevation changes. I would say the jacket is cut for touring, which is what I bought it for. I ride a Ducati ST4s, which is very sport oriented for a touring bike, and the jacket is not cut to fit a forward sport riding postion, a little tight in the front of my shoulders with a reach to the bars in a bit of a crouch. Hope this helps. The quality construction is excellent. Dec 6, 2013

michael k: I'm just a little bigger than you, 5'11", 41 inch chest and I wear the size 52. It fits well, just a little snug. Verry happy with it in the 3 months or so I've had it. I'm not familiar with the Scorpion except for what I've read. The Dainese has the waterproofing built in, doesn't need a liner (which I prefer), but doesn't have any mesh, just a few small zippered vents. You have to decide which is more important to you. Hope that helps. Dec 6, 2013

anantha c: I would start with size 52, check out the sleeve length as well.

The fit and finish of Dainese is very superior than Scorpion products in general. I own a Dainese Xantum D-Dry Jacket and i would highly recommend it.

The only down side - Dainese does not make D-Dry overpants.

A shopper asked: I am interested in purchasing the Xantum Jacket. I am also very interested in the pants that the model is wearing in the picture of the jacket. Looks like a very nice combo. I assume the jacket and pants zip together and both have the D-Dry membrane. I wear a 54 jacket and 52 pants in BMW apparrel size. Thanks. Apr 16, 2011

Chris K: All Dainese men's jackets will zip to all Dainese men's pants, regardless of the size as the zipper is the same on all sizes. They do both have the D-Dry membrane, so this will keep you the driest when you take advantage of zipping the two together. Apr 18, 2011

Matt K: It looks like the pants are either the D-System D-Dry or Tomsk, I am not sure which one though! Apr 18, 2011

A shopper asked: Does the dainese xantum fit shorter torsos or an inbetween short/regular? im 5'6 with 38inch chest so im assume a size 48 but not sure about overall length of the jacket? Aug 8, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Chris KStaff: Dainese gear actually tends to run a bit long. However, a 48 is small enough that it shouldn't be too long for you. Also, since it is sport cut, so the torso will be smaller than most casual or touring cut jackets. Aug 8, 2013

A shopper asked: There are:
1. Wave G1 - G2
2. Shield air G1 - G2 Level 2
Which of them can I fit into the jacket?

Nov 20, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: Both the Dainese Wave G, and the Dainese Shield Air G Back Protectors can fit inside the Dainese Xantum D-Dry Jacket thanks to two back protector pockets. Nov 20, 2012

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. Dainese sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chest: Measure from under/top of armpit across chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
  • Gloves: Using a flexible measuring tape, measure around your hand, behind the knuckles, not including the thumb.
