Fit my foot but not my calf. (Wife's Review) Fit my foot but not my calf. I first ordered these Dainese Women's Svelta, size 38, but it would not fit my calf. Then I ordered TCX Aura size 38, they fit my calf great, but the foot bed was to narrow. Comparing the two TCX Aura - had a stiffer sole, insole was micro thin, Calf area is very flexible. Dainese had what I thought was nicer leather, and a way more comfortable foot bed. Calf area is pretty small. If you could combine the bottom of Dainese with the Top of the TCX it would be the perfect boot. ....still searching. February 18, 2015
Doesn't look like a man's riding boot! Love this boot. I have a wide foot and this fits like a glove. Very comfortable and much more lady like in the style compared to my BMW riding boots. January 7, 2015
Great looking boot I love the look of this boot it's sleek and sexy! However, the lower half of the Rear elastic gusset doesn't allow any stretch in the boot because of the inner lining which is more rigid. I wear a size 6 and ordered the 36 which is narrow at the footbed and tight around my 14" calf. I'll probably go up a size and see if the fit is any better. I hope it works out because I really love the look of this boot and you can't beat Dainese quality!! December 5, 2014
Dorky but awesome So I really wanted something more stylish. Let's face it, this is a dorky looking boot for someone not riding a sports bike. But these boots are comfortable and warm, easy to take on and off, and keep me dry. I'm glad I didn't worry about finding a more street, cruiser looking boot and went with these. I probably won't wear them once it is warmer, but for fall/winter and for wet weather, they will be my go to boots. November 6, 2014
Another Great Dainese Product I haven't had a chance to go on a long ride with my new Dainese boots, but I can tell from plenty of walking around the house that they are very comfortable. The front part of the boot is narrow, but I have a little extra wiggle room in the boot for toe movement or thick socks. Can't wait to get on the bike and really test them out! November 1, 2014
Love them! I wear a size 6 in US women's size and the size 36 fit me perfectly. I was looking for a boot with a little extra height (i'm 4'11 feet tall) and these give me at least an extra two inches in height. Plus they look badass. ;) These were also recommended to me when I e-mailed revzilla asking about boots with a height boost and the lady said she rode these, since I had my eye on these anyways I snatched them up! Putting them on the first time was a little snug and I had to work them in just a bit. The calves fit me perfectly but I have slim calves, would not recommend to those with calves on the bigger size. The Dainese Siren boot calf size were too big for mine so i would recommend those to women with bigger calves. They are so comfortable. Takes a little work but after wearing them around the house for two days I can now tuck my jeans into them and zip them up. I feel like my feet are super protected and it is not awkward at all to walk around in them. Like I said I wore them around the house for two days straight and I did not get any blisters or discomfort. My dad recently had an accident where his bike slid out from under him and fell on his foot and he was wearing normal leather boots. The top part of his foot was basically crushed, he had to have so much hardware put in to reposition the bones, when they took it all out, it seriously looked like he had been smuggling an aisle full of screws from a hardware store in his foot. He is fine now and is getting back on his bike soon but not without better foot protection from now on. Protect your feet! September 17, 2014
Wife's boot and she loves them! First Motorcycle boot other than Harley 3/4 boot. Feet stay warm in 55 degree weather and boot is not too hot in 90 degree weather . Great style and comfortable enough to do some shopping in while touring on the bike. Like the protection features without the "over the top" looks of other boots. Would buy these again. I'm in love. I was in serious need of some waterproof boots. I ride year round in all weather conditions, and have had some bad luck with past purchases. Should have just started with the Gore-Tex. I LOVE these boots. They fit comfortably when I first tried them on. Spent the day breaking them in inside. My shoe size in US is between an 8 and 8.5 reg, and I went with the size 39 EU size. When I wear wool socks or winter socks, the boots are snug, but not unbearable. I have also worn these boots with regular weight athletic socks, and have not felt much slippage. My last trip I rode my 2008 DL650 from Seattle, WA to San Diego, CA, and then across the Rockies to Indianapolis. Since I did this in summertime, my calves were a little sweaty at the end of the day, but I was never uncomfortable while riding. They boots are also comfortable to wear when walking around town. I often wear them to work and don't bother changing shoes if it's a cool day. (But don't wear them all day indoors if there's no A/C). They now have a few scuffs and scrapes after 3,000 miles, but integrity hasn't been compromised. In wet and rainy conditions, I was so thrilled I was giggling on my bike. I've been caught in a few thunderstorms, and there was not a drop of moisture in my boots afterwards. Style-wise, I am perfectly happy. I wouldn't wear these boots with skinny jeans, but they're cute when I wear boot-cut jeans over them. They don't look bulky when they're under my pant leg. August 31, 2014

Vicky L: 1.5 - 2 inches so give just a little lift when on the bike. Theses boots were comfortable right out if the box and I've done over 10,000 miles in them and they're still amazing! Apr 18, 2014

Matt K: I bought this boot for my wife. She finds it a very comfortable height of heel, about 1 1/4 inches tall. Looks good when she wears it on the bike or off the bike with jeans.

The leather is soft and the boot is well made. It fits about a half size large. She wears a 9 1/2 street shoe and the 9 fits perfect.

Would buy it again.

Dasha L: About 1.5". Great boots! Perfect in any weather: cold, heat, keep your feet dry in the rain - I wore them out in one season - mind you I put 13k on my bike. :-) you will not regret the buy. Apr 18, 2014

A shopper asked: Are these boots any warmer than most boots? I know they are gortex but are they insulated? Sep 16, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jeff B: These boots are not insulated. The beauty of goretex however is total wind block which keeps you remarkably warmer in cold temps and real breathability (vs essentially all other materials claiming breathability) which makes these boots useful in warm temps. Comfortable from about 40 to 90 degrees without extra thick or thin socks etc. Sep 16, 2013
Reply to Jeff Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
STASY R: These boots are lined, but not insulated. The leather is thick and sturdy. I purchased a pair of wool+silk blend socks to wear in these boots when it's cold. The sock are great and do the job, keeping my feet super toasty in these boots. Socks: Thorlo Unisex Moderate Cushion Ski Sock, Natural, Size Medium (I'm a size 9.5-10 women's shoe) Sep 17, 2013

Vicky L: I ride in Vermont and have found these boots to be amazing. Not only are they comfortable, they are breathable and able to be worn in cold and hot. I've worn them in 95 degree weather down to the low 40's. I've ridden almost 8,000 miles in them this summer and from my experience, I highly recommend this boot. Sep 19, 2013

Elizabeth H: I find them slightly warmer than other boots; I rode in about 50 degrees this morning and my feet were surprisingly toasty. With that said, I've also worn them in 90-degree weather without any discomfort. Sep 17, 2013

Matthew P: My wife has only worn these during the month of August, but says her feet weren't roasting at all. If the product description doesn't state they're insulated, then I would assume they are not. Sep 16, 2013

Mehmet O: This is my first motorcycle boot so can't compare with others. I did not get a chance to use them in cold weather yet. It is dry when we had rain about 10 minutes but rain was not hard. Sep 16, 2013

Emily L asked: Sizing question: I'm a size 6.5 that usually goes down to a 6 if no half size. In Euro designer shoes (heels) I'm usually a 36. I'm seeing the that size guide would have me buy a 38 though...what do you think? Aug 2, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Dasha L: The sizing chart is very accurate with this boot. I am Euro 38 and I bought a 38, fits perfectly!. So if you know your euro size, go with that. :-) Aug 5, 2014
Reply to Dasha Good answer? Yes (1) No (0)
STASY R: Hi Emily,

I'm not sure about European sizing, but I am a 9.5, narrow forefoot, high arch and narrow heel. I ended up getting the 41. I put a new insole in them and I always wear wool socks in them.

I probably could have gone down to the 40, as right now I have about 3/4 inch in the front. I tend to err on the side of being a little longer if the fit is close between two sizes. If it's too short, you won't be able to use it and you've wasted $270. You can always wear thicker socks and put in a thicker insole if it's a little too roomy. Read my review (the first one) where I discuss the fit.

Also, Revzilla has a free return policy so that you can get a good fit. Please call them and ask. It was worth it for me to order the two different sizes and walk around my house in them for a couple of hours to decide.

They are great boots, but definitely get the right size ;).

Lily C: I'm a solid size 6 and I bought a size 38. That size was good for me. I usually wear medium-thickness socks (Hanes types). There's enough room for me to wear thick socks as well. With medium-thickness socks, my toe is close to the end of the shoe (i.e. I probably wouldn't fit a size smaller than 38). While the length is good, the shoe actually has a lot of room/space at the top of the foot. I think that is to allow for you to wear thicker socks during colder weather. I actually usually ride with a really thin insert that only goes to the ball of the foot (to help with my foot arch). I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions. Aug 6, 2014

Rania M: Emily, I wear a size 8 US women's and wear a size 39 Euro. I have owned these boots since about Sept of 2013 and fit perfectly in a size 39. The tag on the inside of the boot does say US 7, 39 Euro. However, like I said I am a size 8 in boots and sneakers. Aug 5, 2014

A shopper asked: Did anyone with big calves order these? How did they fit? I have big calves, love these boots (and boots in general) but I run into the problem where they are too tight on my calves. Feb 5, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Jeff B: My lovely wife wears these boots. She loves them and I think she looks great in them. They do have accordion style leather panels over the calf which can expand or contract depending on calf size. That said, she often asks me to help her get the boots zipped up because they are tight around her calves. Once zipped she has no complaint. They are really high quality and easily withstand hurricane level rain storms totally dry. Revzilla has an easy return policy. Try them out they are really great boots Feb 5, 2015

Pamala T: I have the same issue with lager calves and was concerned when I bought these but these worked out nicely and I did not have an problems. They zipped up fine and then you can adjust the Velcro a bit if it is to tight. I loved the boots, they fit well and the weather went from hot days to snow and rain storms and my feet were very happy. Feb 5, 2015

jody H: They run about medium in calf width. When I first wore them they didn't zip up all the way, about 3/4 of the way, and then they stretched. They fit me perfect now, I love these boots.
Remember this is an Italian brand so they have smaller fits.

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. Dainese sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chest: Measure from under/top of armpit across chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
  • Gloves: Using a flexible measuring tape, measure around your hand, behind the knuckles, not including the thumb.
