This back protector fits perfectly under my one piece track suit. It's comfortable and looks and feels top quality. The only downside is the price, but hey, it's cheaper than medical bills if it helps prevent injury.

I'm 5', 7" with a 32" waist an 36" chest. I bought a small and it fits great but only in a tucked in position. When sitting up straight it rides up on your neck and causes a bit of discomfort but that can easily be fixed by adjusting the straps. It's also a bit bulky under my leathers and makes me look round. I leathers a fairly tight and typically give me a slim look but with the protector on my chest an back looks bulky. Either way I won't leave home without it. I just bought a set of leathers one size up and now it feels great. On TD's I don't even know it's there.
I highly recommend this.

A 56 Dainese fits me without a back or chest protector. I wear a 58 so I can get the back protector in. I would need to wear a 60 to get the chest protector in at the same time (comfortably). The shell is light and durable. It is very easy to switch from the combination chest/back arrangement to just the back protector. I like the waist wrap that secures the lower part of the back protector. It is wide and therefore doesn't dig in when leaning over the bike.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I have not been down with this chest and back protector on. If I do go down I expect it will offer great protection based on the fit and feel of this product. The fit is completely adjustable, but when it is stuffed under my track suit things get a little tight. My suit is probably a size too small to allow for enough movement with both the back and chest protector on.

Great piece of safety equiptment. Can be used with chest and back protector or stand alone back protection. A little pricey due to one event protection from crumple zone design, but then again you can't put a price on your own saftey. Very good fit, mobility and support. Amazing how the fit and comfort of a good piece of equiptment can improve your focus and lap times.

I sometimes enjoy a circuit run. All the everyday movement is motorcycles, too. I don't drive a car for half a year anymore. I like motorcycles that much.
Protector is important to such me. Because I do not yet clush, I cannot evaluate the performance, but seem to finish it for few injuries even if I do a high side.
Feeling is Rossi if I wear this!

I have never felt more protected than I am today with my new Thorax Wave Pro. As long as you get the correct size it will give you great coverage over your ribs, sternum, clavicle, scapulas, coccyx (tail bone which is EASILY broken), and spinal area. ALL vital areas that are critical to protect. Dainese has done a magnificent job building this unit, utilizing only the finest in the latest light weight and hardened materials. I wouldn't trust another manufacturer to protect me better than Dainese. Who cares what your friends are or are not wearing while they ride? Cover yourself! Ask doctors about the most common injuries they see from motorcycle wrecks (that survive). Great breathability, too! Very light and as unobtrusive as possible.

Does the size SMALL come with a size 11 for the back protector? Medium comes with a 12 wave back protector, and Large comes with a 13 wave back protector? It looks like this is true from the Dainese website.
However, the product review video says the back is always 12 despite the Small, Medium, and Large size.

How bulky is this armor under a race suit? And, how does it compare to the ForceField Extreme Harness Flite in protection & bulkiness? Which is the best value for canyon riding/ track?

All armor is designed specifically to fit comfortably under a properly sized race suit. Both the Thorax Wave Pro and the Extreme Harness Flite are very comfortable and based on customer feedback you will forget you are even wearing protection when you are out on the track or on a spirited road ride. A notable difference when comparing the two is Thorax Wave Pro offers more coverage in the shoulder blade and rib areas. Both systems offer EN1621-2:2003 (Level 2) Back Protection and we would be hard pressed to offer a value suggestion when it comes to safety.

I have a bleeding disorder which causes my joints to hurt and be injury prone and am looking for some apparel that really will provide the best impact protection in the event of a crash. I ride a GS1200, I need a jacket and pants for a fairly broad 3 season, predominately road with some non-paved. I looked at some of the closesout Shift summer jackets, and some pricier things, also the padded shorts and padded undersuits. Seeing these different items in person would be best, but asking questions is second best. If possible, I would love to hear which items would be recommended in the whole price spectrum. I don't want to get low low end but I probably won't be forking over Klim prices either. Help!! and thanks in advance if you are able to answer this question.

Look at the Olympia AST or Bushwacker jackets. Both are designed for 3-4 season ADV riding and will fit you and your GS well. I have a Olympia Bonneville and love it! Olympia also has CE approved armor throughout (including the back!). The AST is better for colder climates, Bushwacker better for hotter weather.
