Perfect Jacket for Hot or Cool weather This jacket is perfect for desert riding where the temperatures can jump above 100 degrees during the day but also dip below 50 degrees at night in the same day. The jacket and liner works as advertised and the design and functionality is right on. The materials of the jacket right down to the buttons and zippers have a quality feel to them and details that let you know nothing was overlooked. Definitely would recommend this jacket if you are on the fence and are looking for a three season jacket. April 16, 2014
Dainese fan I have owned many dainese products over the years and never had a problem with sizing. Currently I own a Dainese Teren and the Aspide Textile jacket and im a size 52 on both. The Spedio arrived today and amazingly my size 52 is too big. This is to the point that my elbow armor is entirely on my forearm. Just weird. March 27, 2014
Comforable, Functional, Sharp! Very true to fit, 6" tall 162 Lbs, 41 Inch chest, wearing a 15.5"-35" dress shirt, the chest fit with the liner and 2 under layers for cold weather fits snug and comfortable. Pull the liner and with a t-shirt the jacket has more room, but not excessive. Flows enough air for 90+ Phoenix weather. The shoulder armor can be moved a bit for placement, and the elbow/forearm armor can be moved within the sleeve. Waist adjustment is good and can be sinched for a 32 waist without looking all bunched up. Only issue is the sanitized-type inner liner. It is not stitched to a majority of the inner jacket structure to hold the torso/shoulders in place. Obviously the armor shifts with the liner, and chasing the sleeves take a little extra pre-ride adjustment, but it seems to stay in place throughout a 6 hour ride, and turns heads at every red light. Great multi-season jacket! This jacket is awesome, a great investment. I've been using this jacket all year now and can say that I am truly impressed by the quality from Dainese. Its lightweight, very versatile and sexy looking. The sizing of this seems true to size. I got a 36 in chest and size 46 fits spot on. The armor sits properly in place and even with the air wave back protector in it is still very lightweight and doesn't even bother me. I have been caught in the rain a few times with this jacket and can say it is waterproof with the inner liner inside. The air flow is nice, I can feel air coming from walking around. Under 50 degrees I would probably get something more beefy because just the jacket alone wont really keep you very warm. Only small issue with this jacket is the neck collar is a bit too snug, I have to really squeeze my neck in to get it secure. All in all this a great jacket I definitely recommend it! Good protection and fit This is my first Dainese purchase, and it lives up to their reputation for fit and style. It fits right-on, so make sure you get your measurements correct (I had to exchange a 52 for a 50 and could tell the difference in sizes), and the armor will sit just right. Works well with Wave G back protector, if you decide to. The sleeves, shoulders, and back are well-tailored for a comfortable fit in an upright riding position. I haven't tested the waterproof liner in the rain, but it works fine as a windbreaker down to about 50 F (imo). Versatile, comfy, looks good. I'd like to have a small cell phone pocket inside the waterproof liner, but the lack of one definitely isn't a dealbreaker. January 14, 2014
Exceptionally Pleased... …so far. Pertinent data points: - Just got this jacket, so I haven't tested it in the rain. - Initial ride was done in 84 F/29 C sunny weather (on 11 Dec!) in humid S. FL. Airflow was superb on both my Sport Touring bike, and my Sportbike. This is a key feature for me. - Fit: I'm 5'10", 145 lbs/66 Kgs, 40" waist, average arm length. I went with a size 50. For me it fits perfectly; I want a bit of space for a slightly loose fit to allow additional airflow and the ability to layer when needed. Don't like to feel constrained when stretched out on the bikes. Freedom of movement and all. Lastly I wanted a bit of room for... - …a Dainese G2 Wave Back Protector (which unfortunately I had to buy from a Revzilla competitor due to Revzilla being out of stock. Sorry.) fit perfectly into the jacket, as designed, and as described by Anthony in the video. - Quality: This is a fairly expensive, top-end jacket…and it shows in the quality of materials, design, and construction. - Bottomline: I'm tickled. Great product, and Revzilla's review and sizing guide were invaluable. December 11, 2013
Quality varies from jacket to jacket. Try it on if you can first. I really wanted to like this jacket. I still do. It fit beautifully and looked great. Not many jackets do that. I wanted a light multi-season jacket that wasn't as heavy as my *ans*n and breathed well. I first went to the store in San Francisco to try it on right at closing and right before my flight to Philly. They were very helpful but didn't have my size. I'm a 42r, 175lbs. I needed a size 50. In Philly I went to Revzilla(recommended). Nice people. The size 50 fit like a dream. It breathed really well and was nice and light. A good commuting/relaxed riding jacket but I wouldn't scrub the sides of the tires with it (safety). A week into ownership I noticed the fabric was pilling up anywhere something rubbed against it. (Helmet, back pack) Then I noticed odd bits of random stitching here and there and sloppy stitching/seams. Then the tabs of the d-dry liner(awesome if available separately) started pulling away from their stitching. It must have been made on a Friday afternoon or the seamstress' first day and it showed. It is not made in Italy. It's made in North Africa. Quality is poor for that price. I took it back to RevZ a week later, hoping for a good will gesture exchange. Warranty goes back to italy(They take a few weeks off in the summer...) Girl stood up for me and had another one shipped to my place from Las Vegas. Which arrived a week later. But I lost confidence in the jacket and returned it for a refund(didn't wear it). I picked up a pre owned *ans*n perforated for less and it breathes and protects more. It's heavy though. I moved to San Diego this month and miss the idea of the Spedio. It's expensive for textile and be sure to check it thoroughly for quality before you wear it. A motorcycle jacket is equipment, not fashion and should not fall apart. No excuses. October 12, 2013
An all around summer/fall/rain jacket that makes no compromises. Have a 37 inch chest and the size 50 fits me comfortably snug with the back protector included. Jacket does not have the usual Dainese 2 back pockets instead it uses 1 pocket with velcro snaps for size g1 and g2 but keep in mind I use the shield air g2 and the pocket fit is EXTREMELY tight. Air flow is phenomenal even with the liner on I'm still cool in 80-90 degree weather, and without the liner I feel like I'm wearing a t-shirt. Have not used in heavy rain yet but I have experienced light rain and its definitely waterproof no water gets through! The standard shoulder and elbow/forearm protectors feel tough. Overall a high quality jacket that will best suit the rider who is seeking a jacket that will see them through hot weather and rain and is willing to make no compromises. September 29, 2013

Amar M: this provides both protection from the rain as well as allows for heat to escape, both of which are important aspects of riding in GA in the summer. Mar 20, 2014

Just wondering if it'll looks like you are wearing the wrong size... I really like the Italian/european fit...

A s: Hello
The liner is really thin but of a very unique material to cut wind, moisture but keep you warm. It's small enough to fold up and put under a seat.
I have a vanson as well and without a liner it is very bulky compared to the spedio.
Hope this helps

David F: The liner is very low profile. Without the liner, you definitely have the euro fit in the arms, biceps, and shoulders. Around the midsection, maybe it bunches a *little* in the riding position, but maybe that's my short build. Mar 7, 2014

Timothy M: The D-Dry liner is very thin and fits the jacket very closely, so fitment doesn't change when you remove it. Mar 7, 2014

A S asked: I'm wondering what pants are recommended with this jacket. Are there any 4 season pants with good ventilation that connect to the jacket or liner with zippers? Feb 6, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
PERCIVAL C: Dainese Jackets and Dainese Pants with built-in fastening features were designed to pair up seamlessly in my understanding. However, I would not recommend this jacket to be paired up with any of the four-season trousers because this jacket will not protect you from the cold by itself. I use this jacket from mid-spring to mid-fall only. Hope this helps. Feb 6, 2014

A shopper asked: Jacket fit is great overall but arms fit a little looser than I expected. Arm protectors cover area well enough again just kind of looser than expected. Thinking a trip to the tailor is in order? Or is this a NO NO?

Thanks

A s: If it's loose while wearing it with the d-dry(which is thin) the size is too big for you. And it's not safe because armor will move around. I tried one on in San Francisco and bought it in Philadelphia to be sure of fit. It's a breathable jacket at best. Get a properly constructed jacket that fits. A tailor can alter but then there's no warranty or guarantee of safe construction. Oct 12, 2013

Esteban Y: I don't find it lose myself. Do you feel it lose even while wearing it with the d-dry membrane? Just take in mind that it should have enough room for that extra layer. Oct 1, 2013

A shopper asked: I weigh 165lbs. about 6'2", chest around 99cm, arm 61 cm.....I don"t plan on heavy layering underneith, just maybe a thin snowboarding thermo underarmer shirt. I guess my concern is arm length, I have a short torso but long arms, with a thin build....I m leaning towards the 50?....any advice is appreciated Mar 27, 2014

PERCIVAL C: I wear the size 50 and it fits me perfectly (snug but ample room to wiggle). I am 180/185 lbs. 6FT tall and normal arms lenght. I had 52 but exchanged for 50. Size 52 felt loose and a bit too long at the wrists.
I hope this helps.

A shopper asked: Hey guys I have an Avro Leather jacket and this jacket looks amazing for summer for when leather is just crazy. But knowing Melbourne weather it likes to rain after being 35-40 degrees in the morning (Celsius). Would this liner fit in the Avro jacket for winter time etc? Our winters don't get that cold so it should be pretty good, we just get a bit of rain.
Thanks!

RevZilla: The liner in the Spedio will not fit into the Avro. It's an extra funky one, with buttons and snaps and all kinds of things that aren't compatible with any other jacket. Keep in mind though, the thermal liner in the Avro is quite bushy - great for cooler temperatures. If you're worried about freak rainstorms, check out some rain gear - the Bruxelles Two-Piece, for example. Feb 27, 2013

Sean C asked: Hello. Q re: difference between Dainese Atallo 2 D-Dry Jacket and the Spedio D-Dry. Correct me if I?m wrong but seems to me for extra $80 one gets the THERMAL liner.

Background: I currently wear a Dainese Shotgun Tex (discontinued) mated with Dainese Drake-type waterproof pants ("screen doors" and removeable liner, sorta an older version of ?D-System EVO D-Dry Pants?). Am in planning stages of cross-USA trip commencing early July. Northern route, through SD, MT, WY, ID then down across NV to San Jose, CA. Am therefore considering a new Dainese jacket that can take some rain.

I already have an Olympia AST jacket that can handle rain? But won't zip to my nice Italiano pants! Alternative is to just bring that jacket along and source some suspenders from Aerostich? Thoughts? - Sean C. NYC

SIZING INSTRUCTIONS

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. Dainese sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chestwidth: Measure from under/top of armpit cross chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
  • Gloves: Using a flexible measuring tape, measure around your hand, behind the knuckles, not including the thumb.
