Not what I was looking for.
I was looking for a pair of shorts that would fit unobtrusively under my normal clothes and provide tailbone protection for the days I ride to work. Based on the pictures of this product and the video I thought that these shorts would be ideal.
I recieved these shorts today and was pretty excited until I tried them on.
These shorts run small, and by small I mean I ordered a medium and they fit like a small.
From the pictures and the video the armor in the thigh area looks unobtrusive but that is not the case, it's much harder than the armor used for the tailbone protection and isn't very flexible. It was very noticable under my jeans, I'd hate to imagine what they would look like under anything else.
Given the positioning of the thigh armor I was unable to wear these in combination with CE rated hip protectors from my Draggin Jeans. The armor overlapped and well just made things even more uncomfortable.
The thigh armor is also not removeable.
The tail bone protector is another story. It fits in a little pocket in the back of the shorts and while the material is cut in hexagon like formation like the thigh armor it is much softer. I'm unsure how well this would protect you in the event you landed on your tailbone but comfort wise I barely noticed it was there even when I tried to sit.
I'd keep these if I could remove the thigh armor (and get the right size) but as it stands I have to return them because I won't be able to walk around at work without someone asking me about the tumor I have on my legs. "It's not a TUMA!"

Good, basic protection from minimal bumps and road rash
Was looking for a bit more hip/rear protection than just jeans and less than full-blown leathers. Typical Dainese quality - which is to say high. I ordered the XXL and they fit snug, but then I'm a big guy (42 waist).
The padding is OK - you can feel through it pretty easily, it's soft, but definitely there and does help with occasional hip-checks on things. The rear pad is pretty small and right at the end of the tailbone. Overall, these won't keep you from big damage on a spill, but for smaller dings and eliminating a little road rash through thinner pants these do the job,
A little pricy, but a little added peace-of-mind. And great airflow as well as comfort - wore these on a 400 mile run yesterday and felt fine the whole way
