Well I have just one thing to mention to everyone who is willing to buy this boot, stick to the EU size chart as the US size chart is not accurate it's a size down.

Great boot. Returned it immediately.
I don't think I've ever written a glorious review about an item I immediately returned. The boot is a work of art. Belongs in a museum. But, it's for the very few whose foot size is just below the average and not wide. My foot is not wide but long. I wear 12 in Frye boots and their sizing happens to be perfect for me. But Dainese is an Italian brand and for those who have been in Italy, they like small. Small is quite big in Italy. Size 13 was still not large enough for my foot. The workmanship and craftsmanship are spectacular. I highly recommend it for those among you who are lucky enough to have... Italian feet.

Great Boots but Easily Scuffed
I picked these up as my first pair of dedicated boots for my bike. I use them as commuter boots, they are comfortable on the bike and off of it. You could wear these all day if need be without much issue.

They look great and are well designed, however I noticed that they are very easy to scuff and show wear fairly fast. It appears the most on the inside of the heel and toe area, basically anywhere you might rub against the bike.

Grip is solid. I have yet to have an issue when putting my foot down, rain or shine.

Another thing to note is that the velcro around the calf isn't the easiest to get a tight seal as it is very firm in its form. This isn't a hug deal but is worth noting as I tend to have a little extra room around the calf. It also may take some extra time to break it in further.

As far as fit is concerned, I tend to wear between an 8 and 9 depending. A good comparison would be some LL Bean Katahdin's I wear at 8.5, which seem to be comparable to what I got here in length, height and width.

Would I recommend this product? Probably. Definitely if it were on sale!

Stylish, waterproof, short boot
This boot is exactly what it claims to be. It is a short boot, and it is waterproof.

In even heavy rain, this boot has completely kept my feet dry. Obviously, you'd need a waterproof suit or trousers as water can run in from the top. The sole of the boot is quite grippy, and performs well in the wet. My feet felt secure on the foot pegs and when down on the road.

The boot doesn't ventilate as well as my regular boot (Alpinestars S-MX 3) though I never felt that my feet were hot (temperatures up to about 35C/95F). The boot COULD be worn as a regular everyday riding boot, but other boots would likely be more comfortable in non-wet weather. In my view, this boot is probably best as a supplement - a wet weather option (especially when rain predicted but uncertain).

In terms of fit, I usually buy European size 42 (when footwear is in Euro sizes), and that is the size I bought. The boot fit me perfectly - not tight in the toes or the forefoot. I have narrower feet, and my impression is that the boot does have a relatively narrow fit. People with wide feet might want to consider a size up.

The boot is quite stylish and could be mistaken as ordinary business footwear with trousers - though, this isn't really the purpose of the boot.

Great Boot - I hope
So - I only received these boots this morning, so it might be too early for a full review - but I'm off on a four day ride this week, so I'm sure to know more after that.
They look great, feel good (well, perhaps a little stiff, but I've only had them on for 2 hrs).
After looking, thinking, researching, I ended up coming back to these boots - I think I've been contemplating this purchase for a year or so! My aim is that these will become my day to day commuter boots, with the hope they work well enough in an office environment to wear most days.
Anyhow, first impressions. Very nicely made, comfortable and easy to put on. They definitely look low key enough to wear under my jeans/pants at work. The sole is quite stiff, as is the leather, but I'm sure that will soften up a touch.
The big thing for me is the fit - after reading all the reviews I went to a size 43, although I'm typically a size 42. I think I probably should have stayed with the size 42. It may be that the American v's European size chat is a little off, I'm not sure, but I often purchase shoes in Euro sizes, and 42 is my go to size. From looking at all the reviews, I can only guess that Dainese may have loosened up the fit a little, as I feel like I have slightly too much space around the main areas of my feet - although the toe box feels a little tight. With the velcro synched up nice and tight, the ankle fit is good. I'm not quite sure if the 42 would be better (my guess is that it would be fine), but to get the boots back and forth from Australia is a bit expensive/time consuming... so I'm going to wear some thick socks and see how they go. If it was more simple, I'd probably go for the 42, and try to loosen them up a bit. Anyhow - they do look great, I'll post back after breaking them in. Oh - and thanks Revzilla - this order came swiftly, with no hassles - love it!

Very good looking boots, robust construction but very tight fit.
These boots are very well made, beautiful leather and workmanship. I've got two issues with them: 1st, they fit a bit on the tight side so get one size up, they will take a while to break in due to their robust construction; 2nd, the padding is very minimal, I would not be able to wear them for longer than my usual commute. These boots were not made for walking...

My sister in law loves them
These are the best shoes/boots I have ever owned. They are put together very well and are so stylish that my very cool sister in law saw them and loves them! I don't think that the boots are too stiff, but I am walking around in them to break them in a bit anyway. Tell me if that is stupid. These boots are the best! They fit super well (size 43) right out of the box and I have room enough inside to wear thick socks if I want. I love the zipper/velcro combo closure. It is very convenient and strong at the same time.

Glad I got this...
I don't know if this is a proper review because this is my second time wearing it on and off the bike. The fit is just right for me because the boot is size 44uk/11us narrow and my foot is narrow also. I got this for it's waterproof feature, style and quality.

Great boots,
I usually wear a 10.5 so I got the 11 and its a little snug after replacing the insole with something that isnt like concrete. I took the advise on another review and took them to a shoe repair store and had them stretched. These are narrow and a tad small. I probably would have been better with a 11.5 if they had them. They are hot but anything is hot in south georgia. I had a 70 mile ride in them today and the temp on the bike read 104. My feet were hot but they would be hot in anything at that temp. Overall a great boot. Once they break in a bit they should be awesome. I havent tested the waterproofness but they are guaranteed water proof for life.

Took them to a cobbler, never been happier
I fell in love with the style of the Nighthawk while I was shopping for waterproof cold weather boots. I was a bit hesitant to engage in the European sizes, but the boots were to cool. I have wide/odd feet (10-1/2 W), so online shoes are a struggle. I purchased the boots, and when they arrived they were a bit too tight. I took them to a cobbler, had them widened and they worked like a charm. I even stood ankle deep in a 40 degree Montana river for a few minutes and stayed bone dry. They are a tad stiff, but they are durable as anything. Very happy with them.

i see these are the replacements for the Nighthawk, i liked the nighthawk but they were to narrow for my foot. So,what are the differences, and are they any wider?
A shopper on Mar 25, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Quite narrow,Italian elegance. If you are after comfort go for something wider
I usually wear size 41, any advice what size of this boots will fit for me..?
Fajar A on Jul 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Well - I'd say get 41, if you usually fit a 41 "comfortably". I'm normally a "tight" 42 , but purchased a pair of 43 (based on reviews) - they seem a little loose, but I do get away with them. If I was a "comfortable" 42 I'm sure I'd have been much happier with getting the 42. In reading the reviews, there seems to be some who think the sizing chart comparison between the US sizes and the Dainese Euro sizes is on size different. I hope that helps... a bit. I'd be interested in seeing how you go :-)
Should I size up to an 11.5? I am usually a size 11.
JuggernautOfWar on Nov 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I found these boots to have a fairly full toebox and be close to an American D width. Because I am at the limit of 11.5D, I purchased the 46, which correlates roughly to size 12 American. With liner socks and mid-weight ski socks the fit is perfect. Given that I wanted these for colder weather, the arrangement couldn't be better. You should know that, at least in the beginning, it may be difficult to feel the controls with your feet in these boots. The material is quite rigid. It's not a problem on a bike you know well, but I accidentally upshifted without the clutch lever on my new bike as I was trying to feel out where my foot was in relation to the shifter. The problem gets worse if the boot is too large for a good fit.
Could you wear these with the Dainese Air Drake pants and not ride up??
A shopper on Oct 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I was not able to wear the boots at all. They were to thick at the toe and I could not shift the gears. I couldn't put the toe section under the gear shifter and I scuffed the toe section of the boot badl they are also real stiff to walk in. I do not recommend.
Could you wear or could wear these with the Dainese Air Drake pants and not ride up in length?
Cristino M on Oct 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These are the best boots I've ever owned. I dont know enough about the Air Drake pants, but all of my other riding gear works perfectly with these boots
whats this boot like on your stiffness scale from 1-10? thanks
Erik S on Jan 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Probably a five. Comfortable enough to walk in. Great boots.
What are thoughts about using this for a first time (maybe only time) track day? I predominantly am looking for a good everyday boot, but would like something I can use at a novice track. Thoughts?
landon p on May 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm not a big fan of this boot. My issue is it really doesn't allow for great control on the petals and I've never found it very comfortable. I'd not recommend this boot for a track day.
Hi, my question is if these boots are for winter or mostly for spring?
A shopper on Nov 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Guess it depends on what your winter is like, for me it means several feet of snow and ice. I can say that before the snow arrived this year, I rode at sub-freezing temperatures, the longest ride was about an hour. I wore these boots with just regular nylon socks. My hands were cold, but my feet were warm!
Hi,
Do you have this product size 13.5 ?
If not , I'd like a boot suitable for hot weather but also against water and provides good protection riding
what do you have to offer ?
regards
Nir

Hi.
I have read different opinions regarding the size of these boots.
My naked feet measures 10,8 inch long and 4 inch large, Could you please advise me about which size to choose? I leave abroad, so it is a mess to do returns and I would like to minimize the risk.
Thank you very much!
