Great waterproof ability along with some style Since this is my first time buying jacket, i choose dainese due to good feedbacks about D-Dry system. All i need from jacket was waterproof (since i live in some chaotic climatic conditions), warm/thermal and a little style. I found all this in Avro D-Dry. Tested it last week, first time in rain and then in summer weather condition. Verdict - perfect jacket in spring/fall, but not so perfect in summer, due to warmness and low ventilation. Terrible sweat incoming, but, since there is breathable membrane, it will evaporate lately. Also about sizing - just measure yourself properly and choose, accordin to dainese size chart. Great Style Except For Irdra Collar I received the Avro D-Dry jacket last week. It fits the same as my other size 50 jacket from Dainese; so sizing appears to be consistent across these two components of the Dainese product line. The styling and colors of the red/white/black jacket are terrific. The jacket shows great attention to detail and the jacket has great inherent features. The only thing I'm not crazy about from a design perspective is the tall Idra collar. But having said that the purpose of the Idra collar isn't style - it's functionality. It's intended to keep wind and water off the throat area and it appears it's likely to do that quite well. The jacket was purchased as a Spring/Fall jacket that would serve as a complement to my Summer jacket. By the time I ordered it and it arrived from Italy the temperatures had already increased to Summer levels so I haven't ridden in the jacket yet. But every indication is that it'll be a great jacket. Versatile All Season All Weather Jacket Been riding with this jacket for a month or so now and was just caught in my first proper rain storm for a couple hours, and it is excellently waterproof. The outer pockets are not waterproof, however, and all my toll money was soaked at the end of the trip. Material is highest quality textile, and water just beads off it. Jacket/pants zipper system works very well, but isn't the easiest to zip up for me, but it might be because I have a 54 IT jacket and 52 IT pants. I've got the G2 back protector, and again, fits perfectly. Airflow is a bit weak, so I'm probably going to a full mesh in the full heat of summer. Only vents are on the back and tricky to get at when jacket is already on. Definitely recommended for a quality touring suit. April 20, 2013
Rain, sun, cold, and all around awesomeness. I bought this jacket before a nice big trip, when it arrived I was just awestruck by the technical beauty of the jacket. I started out on the high way and the temperatures were unusually hot so I took out the liner and was just fine. The open road in west texas where you are subject to high winds and temperature drops was nothing for this jacket, I was comfortable the entire way. Towards the end of my trip I was caught in a pretty nice rain storm and again this jacket performed flawlessly. Not once did a single drop of water reach my skin after 4 hours of constant wet conditions. On the return trip home I was subject to very cold weather for a motorcyclist, 34 degrees farenheit. I rode in this cold weather for about 3 hours and was just as warm as I would be in the summer. This jacket is just purely awesome. It does not come with a back protector but I wear dainese jackets any way and already have one. This jacket also looks phenominal off the bike in a casual setting as well. All around great jacket. Beautifully low-profile and comfortable I've had this jacket before I knew of Revzilla - so I paid a bit too much for it in a store. But I'm here to advise anyone considering this jacket, too. It is my only jacket for cold weather riding, and it performs great in all weather types that I've driven in. This ranges from ~30 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit, the former with the thermo liner inside and the latter without, of course. I do have the entirely black version, which is slightly too hot during sunny days when it's between 80 and a 100 degrees outside, so I personally recommend getting a summer jacket for that. The only downside is that it did not come standard with a back protector, which I had expected for such a premium product and ditto price. October 20, 2012
excellent jacket, awesome service This is my first textile jacket and first Dianese product and first time purchasing from revzilla, the quality of this jacket Is outstanding, the Dianese fit is spot on to there recommendations, all in all,I'm very happy to say the least. January 23, 2012
Great Coat It took me three different coats before Joel helped out and talked me into buying this jacket...Thanks Joel, you were right! Jacket has a good sport bike/sport touring feel and cut. I tried the Dainese EVO Gator and D-System jackets, both of which were good, but not for me. They were too tech for what I needed. I wanted a coat that was warm but more fitted and not too long...so far so perfect. The jacket is warm, dry & has a great fit. Definitely a fall, winter & spring coat. I've been riding in it in 40+ degree weather, mild rain and wind...worked in all. If you're looking for a commuter coat that's not too techy with a solid fit, this is the coat...plus it looks cool. Nice Jacket I purchased this jacket to go with my Dianese Tomsk Pants. Nice fit and well constructed. Due to early snow, I have not ridden with the jacket yet. Spring will be the first time out. It seems as though it will be warm enough for early spring/ late fall riding, and probably cool enough for summer as well, although I purchased it for cooler riding. The jacket seems to have good venting though. It weighs a lot less than I would have thought, even with the armor. December 27, 2011

A shopper asked: I would like to ensure I am covered for the possibility of rain on my upcoming trips but do not want to sacrifice overall comfort in hot/dry weather. Should I get the D-Dry version or the regular?

Going to the dragon at the beginning of August and anticipate really warm weather.

Stevan P: The D-Dry version will offer more warmth through it's inherent wind protection. You might consider the Shotgun D-Dry as it offers superior ventilation as well as the D-Dry waterproofing. Jun 17, 2011
