cow leather is not durable at all.. This is my dream summer jacket and I finally got it, and couldn't' be happier with the style and ventilation, got TONS of compliments from even people who don't ride. HOWEVER, after 1 week of use, I notice the "cow leather" is disappoints , it has scratches on places where I made no contact at all, around the piping, and black leather dye is chipping on where the stich makes contact. This makes sense after seeing the Black/Anthracite color dropped to 100$ off MSRP and I start questioning the true value of this jacket. I'm complaining because my run of the mill Dainese Zen Evo jacket which never has a scratch after 2 years of abuse with weather and backpack, true Dainese quality. after all this complaining, is this the best fitting and most badass summer jacket money can buy ? YES...... but would I buy it again ?? Probably Not.... August 20, 2015
Keeps you cool in hot weather, stylish & protected. Living in North Carolina, the summers are hot and sticky. I always ride in full gear and full leathers are too hot when it is 90+ out some days. This jacket has great air flow, fits snugly and has good armor. There is a pocket to add a back protector which is a great feature and some reflective areas for visibility. The leather is in the right spots to add to the protection and the look is really cool too. I also purchased the matching pants to go with this jacket, as with all Dainese products the pants zip to their jackets and you have a two-piece light track or street suit with tons of air flow, decent protection (not as much as full leathers) and good looks and is very comfy with no binding and freedom to move. I have gotten a lot of compliments from other riders who want to get the jacket now seeing it in person. August 3, 2015
Great summer jacket The jacket provides the best airflow I've seen in a jacket with its mesh design. I wonder how the durability will hold up. So far so good, even though I haven't washed it yet. July 20, 2015
Good for hot weather The build quality is super good, smell good too. This jack is good for hot day ride, super good airflow. I live in Los angeles, even summer time at night riding i feel cold if i only wear a T shirt and the jacket. August 24, 2015
Great choice The pocket zippers are low quality and catch often. The pocket zippers are difficult to operate smoothly. Other than that, this jacket is a great choice for warm weather and summertime riding. Riding in a t-shirt will still result in the jacket sticking your arms during the summer time, but if you wear a long sleeve under armor style shirt, riding in this jacket is absolute bliss. May 27, 2015
Great summer jacket I broke this in today during an 80 degree ride here on Long Island. Once you get moving on the bike, this jacket is fantastic. The airflow is just great and fits perfectly. The Revzilla measuring video and the variety of sizes from Dainese made this really easy. The armor all fits exactly where I need it to. Granted, it gets a little hot when sitting in the sun or in stop/go traffic. I got the black one and well, that's what happens with black in the sun. But, I love the jacket. May 17, 2015
This is a awesome jacket I'm 6'1 and 250 i bought a size 60 and it fits perfect this is a awesome jacket i also have the Alpinestars GP Leather jacket but this jackets trumps that one. May 14, 2015
Very nice summer jacket! This jacket replaces a 5 year old Dainese Mesh jacket. Fit is the same as before. This will be used for the worst of the Gulf Coast summer heat & humidity, and it will be a good choice. Airflow is even better than the last jacket, and the leather just feels more substantial than the older textile mesh one. I particularly like the fit- with no arm tightening Velcro (this is summer only, I don't care if it lacks a liner), and minimal Velcro at the sleeve or neck. I keep the same gear for a ling time, and prefer zippers/snaps to Velcro. My only ding on the jacket is features: the lack of usable pockets is annoying #not even a cell phone pocket on the inside? This is especially cumbersome if you get the matching pants, which lack ANY pockets. The other gripe is having to pay extra at this pricepoint for ANY back protection. I used my old Wave protector, but feel something should have been included. Oh well, minor complaints. I am sure this will last another 5 years. May 4, 2015

fadi d: The jacket does not have any liner, I'm having it as a full dry summer vest and I do have other jacket for other seasons
One more thing about this jacket as it has a tight fit especially on shoulders.
Hope this helps

A shopper asked: i already have Dainese Avro C2 Leather Jacket in a size 54. i am in Australia and nobody stocks the Air Frazer jacket for me to try in store before i buy it from Revzilla. Can anyone state from experience whether Dainese sizing is consistent with their jacket sizes. Is it likely to be the same sizing / fit as my Avro jacket? Jul 3, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Giles C: The Dianese sizing chart was pretty much correct. I have a 40 inch chest measurement and am a little broad across the shoulders and typically wear a size 40 suit jacket. Based on this and the Diaese chart I ordered a size 52 which fit well in the chest (a little room to install back armor) and a little snug in the shoulders. Which is like most suit jackets before they are tailored. Sleeve length is ok in the riding position, if a little short when I fully extend my arms (again like most suit jackets). The jacket is pretty european cut so if you have a belly it may not fit you well. I don't have much of a gut so I used the side snaps to cinch in the waste, Length is a little short, but it has a tab in the back with a zipper to connect ti riding pants so, again in the seating position everything sits well. Hope this helps...ride safe. Jul 5, 2014

Iain H: I own several Dainese jackets, and have found that their kit is very consistent in size and cut between models. The Air Frazer Jacket that I have does fit largely as I expected. However compared to my other jackets the cuffs were relatively loose, while the rest of the jacket was if anything a touch tighter than I've normally seen. I would caveat that by saying that all of my other kit is full leather, so it might just be the fabric main construction that makes it feel that way. If you can usually fit a back proctector in your jackets you should be able to do so with this jacket, but it will be snug - which for me was no bad thing. It's a great jacket. I thoroughly recommend it. Jul 3, 2014

Gary S: Great fit. Most comfy Dainese jacket I have. Fits slightly more casually (comfortably). Roomier in the shoulders and chest. Sleeves are the same. Slightly more forgiving of beer guts, but it is still European ... no big bellies allowed

I'm 5'10; 175, semi-athletic build and this jacket is perfect (52) . Comfortable, but still slim / not-baggy.

This has become my absolute go to jacket in the summer. Buy this thing ... you wont regret it. Great airflow, looks good and comfy.

Taylor B: Hey there! I also have both the Avro C2 and the Air Frazer in a size 54. I think the Avro fits me perfectly with a back protector in and is pretty snug once I zip in the removable liner.

The Air Frazer fits slightly more loosely than the Avro C2 in my experience - I still think the 54 is the right size for me, but if I was looking for a more aggressive / tight fit I probably could have fit into a 52. Hopefully this helps!

For reference, I'm about 6' 2" and weigh around 195.

Edward C: I'm fortunate enough to live not too far off from the northern Cali Dainese store and get to try on a lot of their different jackets and the main thing is that there sizing always runs consistent throughout their different model of jackets so if your a 52 in one of their jackets then stick with that sizing hope that helps Nov 8, 2014

James M: I have a Dainese vintage leather jacket that fits perfect. I ordered the air frazer jacket in the same size and to me it feels a little small but you'll never have anything more than a t-shirt on under it and I feel going a size up would have probably made it too loose. Jul 3, 2014

Travis Z: In my experience with Dianese and this jacket in particular is that the sizing is consistent. The only variation I've seen is at the waste, but it's related to the style of the jacket. Jul 3, 2014

Travis Z: In my experience this jacket runs pretty true to size. I have a 40" chest and 30" waste, and I've traditionally worn a euro size 50 and the fit on this jacket is no different terms of sizing. Upper body fit is perfect, and I have the lower snaps adjusted inward. If you've got a bit of a belly, there is a bit of room in the stomach area if you decide to buy based on your chest size. Brian N: I would go for the 56. I can fit a 50 but like the 52 because my shoulders are wider. I have a 42 chest. I don't think you need a bigger size for ventilation. This jacket has a lot of breeze through it on hot days. Anything under 70 degrees for me and it's to cold to wear. Jun 1, 2014

Richard M: I am 5'11 and 180 pounds I have been riding the Air Frazer Jacket now for about a month. It fits really good the only complaint I have is that it rubs my throat a bit in the front but thats probably because I have poor posture not the jacket. I have a size 54. Again it fits really well and comfortable however it is definitely a summer jacket not suited well for under 45 degrees. I ride a 2007 Kawasaki ZX6r. I noticed this was the only jacket that fit well cause it has the flex shoulders. If you are American I recommend this jacket since we're usually a little more built than others. Your probably between a 52 and a 54 I might guess. Then again I had the benefit of trying them on at the Revzilla store in Philly. Apr 14, 2015

Brian N: Yes, it has some liner type thing on the inside of the inside zippered pocket on the left side. I had no clue what this was until I was informed it was for a chest protector. Not sure what kind of protector it would fit. Dec 30, 2014

Neil L asked: How does the Air Frazier fit, compared to the Air Frame? I have a size 56 Air Frame and tried on a Airfast leather size 56 and couldnt come close to doing up zipper. Nov 2, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Pedro Miguel C: Hi Neil, I cannot compare because I never tried the Air Frame. Anyway I tried several other summer jackets from Dainese (no leather). The 48 was always the best fit, so I bought the Air Frazier in 48. It fits just slightly tight than the non-leather ones, but nothing that made me want to exchange it by the 50. I am very happy with it. Cheers! Nov 3, 2014
Travis Z: In my experience the fit is consistent with the rest of the Dainese line. I have a size 50 in this jacket, and have had other Dainese jackets in the same size they all have a consistent fit. Nov 2, 2014

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
DongHwan A: I use Dainese Shield Air G2 back protector to my jacket, it fits perfectly.
Remember, there are 2 insertion pockets covered by 1 common zipper, insert G2 to "wider" pocket, which is located just on the "relatively smaller pocket" on the inner back side.

A shopper asked: I'll be riding in Florida,in hot weather for the most part. Was looking for a perf leather jacket for the protection and airflow but was wondering if this might be a better option. My question really is that is there a big sacrifice in protection because of the overall mesh construction with the leather inserts in the more abrasion prone areas? Jan 27, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Gary S: I have the Ducati Corse (~Dainese Delmar) perforated leather jacket with Wave 2 spine protector. I use my bike everyday to commute in Sydney and have worn this in temperatures up to mid 40's (centigrade). Anything over 32 is do-able (especially if you are moving) but uncomfortable if you are stationary.
I got the Air Frazer with the G2 protector a couple of weks ago, It has all the same protection as the Delmar/Corse in the key postions, so I don't feel under-protected at all. This is the first mesh jacket that I've had that I feel comes close to 'proper' leather protection.

....and the mesh front is simply phenomenal for the increased airflow. It's one of the best buys I've made.

Carolyn H: Of course your going to loose some protection when substituting leather for mesh. I haven't been in a slide with mine on but the mesh feels pretty solid definitely better then other meshes I have experience with. Jan 27, 2014

A shopper asked: How would the Air Frazier fit compared to the Air Frame? I have a Air Frame size 56 with back protector and is a snug but good fit. I recently tried on a leather Air Fast and could not even do up zipper. I live in Thailand so I will have a family member bring me at Christmas. I have the matching pants and they are a low rise fitting pant and with the air frame not all that long of a jacket, It is a little tight in back area around zipper. Nov 2, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
dan p: This jacket is definitely a snug, sport fit. I've owned many Dainese jackets, leather/textile and 56 fits me in all styles. This Air Fraizer jacket is a different fit, I ordered a 58 and the fit is a bit wide still, but the 56 I normaly wear was so tight I could barely zip the jacket up.
Go one size larger and for sure. Cut is different. The jacket looks beautiful as you would expect from Dainese and it is beefier with the added leather than the other fabric jackets. Pictures don't do it justice.

SIZING INSTRUCTIONS

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. Dainese sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chest: Measure from under/top of armpit across chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
  • Gloves: Using a flexible measuring tape, measure around your hand, behind the knuckles, not including the thumb.
