Awesome deal for a great product It's too bad revzilla is not carrying this product anymore. For summer riding I have never had a better summer jacket. June 25, 2015
Fantastic Jacket! This is a great jacket for warm weather climates. Flows tons of air which is great for AZ springs and summers. I have had this jacket two years now and can tell you its a quality and durable jacket that also looks great. I only wish it was not being discontinued. May 20, 2015
Great Jacket for the price My only gripe with this jacket is that it doesn't come with back armor (which I was aware of) but since you can easily insert back armor its just a small inconvenience. I'm 5'11 145lbs and I bought a small which fits me really good and I have some room to spare for extra clothing underneath. I like this jacket mostly for its comfort and style. Its one of the more comfortable jackets that I've tried on, and I really like how the armor fits where its supposed to and it doesn't move around a bunch. All in all this is a great jacket and I'm really happy with my purchase. Thanks for the breakdown videos revzilla :) April 14, 2015
Can't go wrong with this jack for summer riding Amazing jacket for the money. Have full leather jackets but this works great for summer riding. April 13, 2015

I select the size 54 as this model is a Euro Fit..which it about one half size smaller ...The jacket has great style., quality , an looks perfect on my red Ducati Monster...Nice air flow...the video by Anthony was a big help in making my selection....The Dainese Air Flow 3 ...the jacket.has protection with great air flow and style. Everything I was trying to achieve.. I selected the black / red with white reflective trim...I have a Ducati Peak Helmet...Ducati armor gloves....Revzilla offers great style for the total head to toe biker look....Dainese is a great brand.. BIJU K: economical, looks good. Apr 22, 2015
Gary W: After review many reviews and using different brand jackets, I decided to stick with Dainese. You cannot beat the protection that is offered and it looks sexy as !!!!. I only wish they would not sell out so quick. I got the Red/White/Black. I choose this one because it is not to flashy or too much red to draw the attention of LEOs. On another note, I would rock the Dainese Laguna Seca Textile (Red\Black\White) for riding at night. Mar 18, 2015

RevZilla: No, the Dainese Air-3 Textile Jacket does not come with a connection zipper. If you are looking for a Dainese jacket that offers a connection zipper, I would recommend you to look at the Dainese Spedio D-Dry, the Dainese Air-Frame, or the Dainese Shotgun Jackets. Jan 9, 2013

Diego J asked: Is there a removable liner here for the chillier early mornings to work? Aug 20, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Gevork G: No removable liner. This is strictly a light weight mesh jacket. Awesome for the scorching heat, but terrible for cooler temperatures.

The best way I can describe it is, the mesh sort of acts as an air conditioner. The cold air runs thru and thru.

Mornings in LA are cool again (about 65 F). I've already switched to by leather Dainese.

Hope this helps!

D. Archibald S: It does not have a liner of any kind. This is a strictly summer jacket. I live in Washington, DC and its always hot here in the summer. The first day I wore it, it felt like I wasn't wearing anything. I moved over my back protector from my other Dainese jacket and it fit perfectly. Aug 21, 2013
Miguel D: This jacket does not come with a liner. It is very free flowing for hot weather days. I bought the jacket in June so haven't had a chance to ride in cooler weather with it yet but would imagine you would need a warming layer underneath for chillier days. Aug 21, 2013

Morgan B: I'm 5/10 185# and fit in a 52.

You should fit into 54, it will be tight but that should t be a problem for a summer jacket like this because you will not be layering underneith.

Jack W: I'm 6 ft 175. I always wear men's large shirt because of my shoulders. I ordered a 52 and it is not tight on me.

Jonas M: Jesse,

I am about your frame albeiet more "barrel chested" and broad shouldered and I fit well into a 56. I am also a 46 suit jacket size (used to be 44 Long but that was long ago) so I would try this jacket on if you are more narrow shouldered and maybe carry much of your weight in you leg--I do NOT!

It is a great jacket however I recently tried to get a back protector for it and Revzilla is sold out which stinks. Great looking and excellent construction, pricey but you get what you pay for.

Best of luck!

Cheers,

Jonas

Jose E asked: Can you upgrade the armor in this jacket with forcefield armor (arms, shoulder and back)??? Apr 10, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Peter K: Hi Jose,

There are pockets in this jacket for a back protector. I reused my Dainese Wave G2 from another jacket and it fits fine. There are also zipped pockets inside where the the elbow armor can be removed/replaced. The shoulder armor is simply held in place by Velcro but the quality it quite good and mine has never moved out of place.

As you'd expect in a lightweight breathable jacket the armor is also light weight but It is extremely comfortable and as somebody who is used to wearing leathers I've never felt the need to replace or upgrade it.

In theory you could replace the armor with any of your choice but the zipped pockets to store the armor are made to a particular size so my advice would be to stick with Dainese armor if you decide on something a little more heavy duty. Personally I think the jacket is fine as is. I don't think you will be disappointed. Happy riding!

Ray M: It's doesn't come with a back protector. So I had to buy the back protector aside from the jacket. But you can upgrade the elbow and shoulder pads. Great Jacket. Perfect for the summer or warm days. Just know that when it's cold wear a long sleeve. This jackets breathes better then I do. Unless you don't mind the cold. Apr 10, 2015

Henry J: The arms armor is full length and very nice. Both shoulder and arm armor are comfortable and provide great protection.

The back armor dimension 16 inches tall...11 wide at top...8 inches at bottom. I really like the Dainese Manis G in this jacket that I purchased.

A shopper asked: Does using a G2 back protector add any size to the jacket? (will it make the jacket tighter?) May 24, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
David S: Hi
Adding the g2 "shield air" back protector does make the jacket quite a bit tighter. I'm 5'10 170lbs i ordered a size 52 in the air-3 jacket according to the size chart i should be a size 50. With the back protector in and only a t-shirt the jacket is a little snug " mainly in the chest area" but comfortable, sleeve length is prefect. If i were to order it again i might have even gone with a size 54. I would recommend to anyone ordering this jacket with shield air G2 back protector to go at least one size up maybe even two sizes if the want more room.
Hope this helps.

Ivan M: Well, more rigid yes, but not tighter. It's a light well made jacket. You loose a little ventilation, but it's really like wearing a mosquito net from a jacket, so... no worries. you should get the G2 back protector. You never know when you gonna need it!
Hope it helps

A shopper asked: How comfortable is this jacket? I had tried the Air-Flux Textile, which was light and fits good but was very uncomfortable. Mainly, the zipper for the elbow inserts do not have a cover and end up scratching your skin. Does this jacket have a similar problem? May 19, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Yarold B: I've never had this problem. It was very comfortable and fit very well. Sadly, this jacket was cut off of me in a very bad wreck. I can attest that it did it's job very well. It's one of the reasons I am still alive today. If you do decide on this jacket, get the back protector. It's worth the extra money. May 19, 2014

A s: I had an Air-2 and now have an Air-3. The fit and finish are incredibly good. I'm not in front of mine now but I'm. It aware of any issue with the elbow armor pockets or zippers - it's invisible as far as I can tell. It's by far the best highly-ventilated summer jacket I've ever seen or used. The -3 is a slight improvement over the -2 because the side adjustment is snaps instead of Velcro. I haven't seen the Flux jacket but I assume it's just a somewhat cheaper, lower end version. I love the Air Tex!

I use the Dainese C2 leather jacket in size 56.
Would a size 56 of the Air-3 suit me equally well taking into consideration that the textile does not expand like the leather?
Feb 26, 2015

Max S: It will all depend on your chest size and back length.

I'm 5'4" and fits me really well. I'm short but with wide chest, 180 pounds. You are 8" more, I think it won´t fit you because of your back length.

Joel H: Seth,
I'm sorry but I don't think I'm going to be your best bet at getting a great answer to this question. This is my first motorcycle jacket and until I tried it on in the revzilla store in Philly I did not even know my size (5'10" 190# 34" waist & jacket size 52). The guy in the store (and I'm guessing revzilla's online help too) was really good at talking me through what to look for in a jacket (snug around the abdomen, comfortable when arms are in the riding position not by your side, etc.). As far as this jacket goes, it is much more comfortable then the Dainese that is just a bit cheaper than this model, it is cool enough for riding in Texas heat and comes with shoulder, elbow and forearm pads. Long story short: I love this jacket and think it would be best to get one that fits your arm length and hopefully is snug around the belly.
Hopefully this was helpful.

A shopper asked: Hi,
I am hesitating between a Dainese Air-3 and a Super Speed.
I am riding a Ducati MS1200 in a usually 90 degres 85% humidity environment.
I am worried Super Speed is short in air flow and worried Air-3 falls a bit short in protection for longer rides.

What do you recommend ?

With my thanks

Henry J: The Air-3 flow will depend on how loose or tight your fit. With high humidity it may not provide enough flow. The protection in this type of jacket is light weight...recommend using a good back protector. Also...buy the lightest color available for better cooling. Feb 10, 2014

I have a Rev'it Airwave Jacket in a Large and that fits me perfectly, i'm wondering if i need to get this in a size 52 or 54. Was wondering if anyone could provide more info to help me order. A shopper asked: What's the best back armor that I could put in this jacket? Sas-Tec or a Forcefield Insert Pro for example? Also, I got the 50, so what size would be the best fit? May 17, 2013

William W: Ive been down in my forcefield flite harness, works as advertised. Honeycombed for high airflow, high tech impact dispersion, and designed for repeat use. Feb 8, 2014

A shopper asked: I've been debating on whether I purchase this jacket or the Air-Frame Textile one. Can anyone shed some light as to their advantages/disadvantages? Thank you. Mar 27, 2013

StookywanKenobi: I have both. The Air-3 offers the same protection as the Air-Frame, but the Air-3 provides more airflow. The Airframe, looks more like a regular jacket. Apr 16, 2013

A shopper asked: Does this have a buttoned loop that can attach to belt loops from jeans? Feb 19, 2013

RevZilla: The Dainese Air-3 Textile Jacket does not have a belt loop attachment. For piece of mind, the belt attachments are not effective anyway as they tend to release quite easily, especially on impact. Feb 19, 2013

A shopper asked: I'm 6 foot, 175lbs.I think the size 52 will fit my frame well, but... there is so much black in the design, including all over the back.

SIZING INSTRUCTIONS

We highly recommend finding a cloth tape measure and taking the time to take these measurements. Dainese sizes will not necessarily correlate with fitment in other brands.

  • Chest: Measure from under/top of armpit across chest to under/top of other armpit, then across back to first armpit
  • Waist: Measure at the hourglass of your torso, (circumference measured at your belly button)
  • Hips: pelvic bone to pelvic bone, the widest part of your hips below the waist
  • Inseam: from crotch to big ankle bone
  • Outseam: from waist to big ankle bone
  • Gloves: Using a flexible measuring tape, measure around your hand, behind the knuckles, not including the thumb.
