Bell Transitions SolFX Photochromic Face Shield
Get it, money well spent
I drove across country a few weeks ago with this face shield on my Bell Revolver EVO. I never had to open or remove it. It's always the perfect shade day and on into the evening and nightfall. If you feel it doesn't get dark enough, use the helmets inner sunshade with it. I felt it did just fine for me on it's own.

I love the transition shield. It is a bit pricey, but for the peace of mind it gives me it is worth it. My daily commute includes a morning drive in the light and an evening drive home in the dark. I don't need to carry an extra shield or try to risk it in the night with a dark shield.
If you're planning on staring into the sun it won't work as well as a dark smoke. It comes out to slightly darker than a light smoke at full exposure.
At night you can get halo artifacts if it fogs up, but I just vent the shield and it goes away quickly.

The convenience this visor provides is unreal.
The ability to have the transition from clear to light smoke is as brilliant idea and I'm very grateful for the visor. There are only two drawbacks to Ir, one is that for the days when you catch sunsets right in your eye, it could be just a darker. Second is that on cloudy days, the uv rays still come through the clouds and activate the tint and so you have a dark visor when it isn't necessary. These are the only two small nuances to it.

Great shield with one little complaint
This thing is great! It's really nice to be able to leave the house and not have to worry about bringing along an extra shield or a pair of sunglasses. The transition from clear to dark is surprisingly fast, and the dark isn't really dark, but enough that I haven't ever felt like I needed something else like sunglasses. My only complaint is around dusk, the shield seems to want to stay darker rather than lighten up. So sometimes at night it can be a little hard to see, but not enough that it gets dangerous. And if you stop and head inside somewhere for a minute it'll get perfectly clear, and when you go back out it won't be nearly as dark, so it's not ideal, but it works. That isn't enough of a problem for me to not recommend this shield though. It's made riding so much easier!

Best shield I've owned to date
I love having one shield for all occasions. The only thing is it does fog and so now that Shoei is coming out with this same transitions visor with their "pinlock" system that prevents fogging I will be buying a Shoei again soon so I can have that.

Goodbye Dual Face Shields
This is perfect for night and day ops (going to work in morning and leaving in the afternoon). However now that it is getting cooler and humidity was high, it did fog up in the morning once. I had to crack open the visor a tad to get rid of the fog. I have it on the Bell Star Matte Carbon.

The Bell Transitions SolFX Photochromic Face Shield does what it says it does which is great and I think all helmet brand should have this capability. The only con I have is that its not as dark as I would like it to be, hopefully their next versions will transition darker.

Eliminates needing two different shields for riding in daylight then in the night.
Changes quickly from clear to tinted.
A bit pricy but worth it IMHO.
