Bell Transitions SolFX Photochromic Face Shield
I got this shield free with my Bell RS1 and I couldn't be happier with it. It could be darker, however, only having to carry one shield instead of two makes it a winner.
The Transitions sticker stuck on the outside of the shield should be a sin. Took forever to get off.

very pleased with shield, works great in all light, would purchase again

I picked this up to eliminate the need for 2 shields. I was afraid it wouldn't darken enough to make me happy. I was pleasantly surprised. It gets as dark as my dark smoke shield and does so very quickly. I took it out in the sun next to my dark smoke shield and except for the fact it has transitions written on it I couldn't tell the difference. I will replace it when needed with the same thing for sure.

Not dark enough
This works just as advertised but does not get dark enough for my taste.

This visor is hands down amazing. The Transitions technology kicks in quickly to adjust the level of darkness to the intensity of the sun. No condensation has ever built up while riding, and it was so simple to install. This visor is perfect for comfort and style and gets an overall 5/5 for me.

Exactly what I needed
This is an excellent shield. Bells easy snap system makes installation a breeze. The visor provides just the right amount of tint for my daily riding. While riding in the evening the visor is perfectly clear. Love this visor, don't know why I didn't buy one sooner.

Nice addition to my new Bell helmet
I got this free with a new helmet on a Bell promo. I'm very pleased with it. I used to wear sunglasses inside my helmet. I don't need them with this. It would be nice if it got a little darker, but it's great not to have to worry about putting on and taking off sunglasses.

Could be darker. Could cost less.
The shield works like it should. When you are in sunlight, it gets darker; when you are not in sunlight because of clouds or the time of day, the shield gets clearer.
There are a few drawbacks though:
(1) It seems to only get as tinted as "light smoke". It could definitely be darker for my preference.
(2) I think the Nutra-fog coating on my Transitions shield is not as good as that on either my clear or dark smoke shields.
(3) Bell put a Transitions sticker on the left side of the shield that is absolutely HORRIBLE to get off. What finally worked for me was using a nylon-based scrubbing pad made for non-stick pans, a very small drop of dish soap, and continually wetting the shield. It took about 10 minutes.
Sure it's only 10 minutes, but it's a pain it the butt. And that could all be avoided if Bell just used a static based sticker or didn't put one on in the first place.
All in all, having the photochromic shield is way better than having to carry an extra shield. I deal with the bright sun when I have to, but wish this shield could achieve a much darker tint.
The price point is a tad high. It basically replaces two shields, but you pay the cost of three. Yes, we are paying for good technology and convenience, but I would be much more pleased at $100 than I am at $120, and even better satisfied if they'd just bundle this shield with the helmet at a reasonable cost.
