I bought this glove at the beginning of the season with fairly high hopes. A lot of the other gloves I wanted were back ordered at the time, so I got the Thunder in substitute.
Wanting a short cuffed glove that moved a fair amount of air for the Florida heat I looked at mainly A*. Their selection of short gloves is very good. This one would seem to protect well in a crash and that's why we wear them! It has reinforcement in palm, knuckles, and on the lateral end of the thumbs, but there is also a fair amount of mesh. One could only assume this would be adequate in protection enough for moderate street use, but never track.
Comfort: they feel great when on the hands. No hot spots and the seams don't bother. Very soft.
Quality: so far the mesh material on the top of the fingers is fraying a little bit. Not hurting anything but slightly unattractive and annoying. If you try and scratch your fingers it tickles a little. Ive been burning it very quickly with a lighter to trim the fray. The micro velcro straps are also not binding together as much as they should after extended use. I do enjoy the bit of rubber on the finger tips on the index and middle finger. Really improves feel and comfort on those levers on a dewy wet morning.
Durability: The pull tab on the left glove has torn completely off. The gloves are rather hard to put on requiring a good tug on the tab. At first I didn't see this as much of an issue until it tore off completely. I'm sure the right glove is soon to follow. Running errands with these gloves kinda sucks because they're so difficult to get on and off. Takes me a good 3-4 seconds of tugging to get these complete on my hands. Add sweat to the mix and it's even more difficult.
All in all I do like the gloves. Once they are on I love them and don't have a problem at all. Just wanted to inform on the little things which is what makes you get the gloves over something else similarly priced. For an $80 glove I'd say go for it.

I got the white to match my white ninja 250 and it looks awesome. Knuckle protection seem really sturdy and it vents well. The fit in the wrist is tight when I first put them on but after breaking in to them, they get easier to put on. I dont know if its just my order but the stitching on the mesh for my fingers came loose a bit. Maybe the velcro caught them loose, but its suppose to be "microvelcro" so I'm not sure how that happened. Other than thay, great gloves for the price.

ordered a 2x ,fits a tad snug,but comfortable. My problem is glove ie to hard to take off. My previous pair (Joe Rocket) where split a little farther down towards the palm,making them easier pull off.

These are reasonably priced, fashionable Alipinestars gloves. Seems like extra material where you need it: palms, wrist, knuckles. Very comfortable, especially on hot days. My only complaint is that the wrist strap seam tore when I tugged on it pretty hard in the open direction. It won't rip off or anything, but its a bit of an eyesore.

I can't comment on comfort because I can barely get the gloves on my hands. I ordered a large pair and it fits like a small medium. I will send back and try an extra large.
