Awesome glove My daily glove for commuting. Offers good flexibility for easily accomplishing basic task like securing the d ring on my helmet without having to pull the glove off. Good air flow when riding and makes sitting at lights bearable on those 100degree days. September 15, 2014
Good, but small Glove is excellent. My last Alpine Stars glove saved my hand form bruises a couple times and last 5 years. The glove is small when new, but it relaxes with use and fit pretty well after that. Air flow is good in summer days, but bad for winter. :) September 8, 2014
Very poor fit I was very excited to get these gloves as they were on back-order for a while. I bought them for their touch screen ability which works great, however the fit was very disappointing and I had to return them. They appeared well made but I found another pair for a third less that are made just a well. August 25, 2014
Overall A Great Glove The gloves fit rather small however they have gotten more broken in as time has gone on. Additionally there is a little fraying around the gloves tips but they are otherwise built solidly. The gloves styling is awesome and hopefully if I ever take a fall (knock on helmet) they will afford great protection. August 18, 2014
Terrible build quality I orderd a pair, and so did my friend. As these gloves just didn't fit right, XL was too big and L was tight on me. I returned them and got something else. My friend however liked them, so he kept them. After about a couple days of riding the gloves were already showing sign of wear, the threads on the outside of the gloves were coming apart. Just last week my friend went down with his bike at around 20-25mph, these gloves were useless. Both palms have holes in them, its like they ripped on contact, he had scraps all over his palms. He wasn't even going that fast neither did he crash that hard, but these gloves did almost nothing for him. If you just need gloves for a better grip, and knuckle protection than these are for you, otherwise I would never trust these gloves in a crash. Go with something sturdier. August 15, 2014
Solid product from alpinestars I've been riding for 9 years, have worn all ranges of gloves from cheap icon, Alpinestars and Held and RS Taichi. Alpinestars is a solid middle of the road in terms of quality and daily durability. Purchased on sale is a great deal (if the colors are ok) July 11, 2014
Great gloves, but fit is very small... buy a size larger, trust me. Great gloves with good air flow and protection, but fit is very small... buy a size larger, trust me. June 30, 2014
I like the combination of materials for protection and airflow Great gloves for the money. My second pair of alpinestar short gloves. I would buy again. June 16, 2014

A S asked: hi , i measure my hand result is 9,2 should i go with medium glove get looser in time ? or pick the `L for fitment and comfort ? thansk a lot May 30, 2014

Matthew H: Hard to say. Personally i'd go as small as i think i might fit but my fingers are skinnier than average so i tend to dislike loose fitting gloves.

That being said, these gloves deffinately loosened over time... with use. They should be bareable when you first put them on, though.

Good luck!

Matthew D: Get the large these run small. Also I don't reccomend them. I love alpinestars glove (gear in general) but this was the least favorite pair I own. Jun 26, 2014

A shopper asked: Are these gloves constructed fully from man-made materials (e.g. polyurethane (PU) leather, synthetic suede, Clarino (synthetic leather)) or do they comprise real leather as well? Between the product description and the video its a little confusing. - Vegan Rider May 26, 2014

Colin C: Funny handle ! I hope you have an electric motorcycle.

According to the tag it has 5% genuine leather.

Reguardless if it has leather or not, the price of there gloves do not represent the build quality! The stitching is strong but it's been sewn by a drunk. Some fingers are sewn narrow while others are to wide. After one summer of riding I highly doubt the materials used will last 1 second in a crash.

A shopper asked: What is the difference between the ASTAR Thunder Glove and the SMX-2 Air Carbon glove? Apr 25, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: To answer this question, I pulled a pair of the Thunder gloves and a pair of the SMX-2 gloves from our warehouse and did a side-by-side comparison. While the gloves look pretty similar, I did notice some subtle differences. The Thunder has additional rubber over top of the fingers and wider padding on the thumb. Also, the ring finger on the Thunder is entirely leather where the SMX-2 ring finger is a combination of leather and stretch fabric. The final difference I noted is that the velcro wrist closure on the Thunder is larger than the one on the SMX-2. May 1, 2013
