GREAT!
I love this glove. Its fits perfect! Airflow is ok and the padding on the palm is good enough. For what you are buying this is a bang for your buck. So impressed I bought another pair in a different color. I got the "White" ones (BLACK with white accents) originally and now I'm waiting for the White/Red color! SWEET GLOVES!

Good for street riding and short touring rides
I usually wear a medium size glove. Needed to get a large for this glove to perfectly fit me. Had problems with my hands getting numb after riding for a few hours but this glove fixed that. Reasonable protection and good air flow. I live in Malaysia with temperatures are around 30-40 degrees Celsius. Air flow is good that my fingers does not sweat a lot. Very comfortable on the first try. Recommended for those that want a stylish and commuting to work glove.

Does what it Does
Good glove that offers what I would consider minimum effective protection.

I wear small gloves and this things fits snug-tight.
there is thick rubber padding on the joints of your hands and along the knuckles and fingers.
I got these gloves because I live in las vegas and I needed a good ventilated glove that would offer some protection and leave me with some decent amount of mobility. I will be purchasing a hard shelled glove next for sure.

I don't do any road carving so I still think these gloves are the way to go if you're gonna go cheap. still better than those leather summer glove things with large holes everywhere.

will absolutely not protect you from high impact hits or crush injuries.

Nice Glove
Picked these gloves up to replace a worn out old pair. So far like them a lot, nice and light, good feel through the glove and plenty of air in this hot summer.

Fits slightly tight across the hand but I've found that always to be the case with any Alpinestars gloves.

Good quality material like everything else from Astars.

Decent glove
I have had this glove for a few months, using them daily for commuting in Florida's summer weather. The airflow is perfectly fine, even on insanely hot days I had no issues with the temperature. Obviously they are not waterproof, but they dry out pretty quickly too. They seem pretty good for simple hand protection, perfect for the money you'll pay for them. However, the fingers start to fray pretty much immediately, because the fingertips will get stuck to the Velcro while donning the glove. That same piece of Velcro is glued and stitched to the glove on the inside (so behind a hole in the palm side of the glove). The plastic back of the Velcro is covered by a piece of cloth but that will start to come loose pretty soon and then the edge of that plastic back will start to bite into your palm. Not the worst design flaw that I have seen in motorcycle gear, but pretty annoying anyway. Also, now after a few months of daily use, the fabric on the palm side, near the Velcro closure starts to wear through. Time for new gloves. This time I am going to invest a little more. I think these gloves are perfect "back-up" gloves, or gloves for very warm weather, easy riding. I used them with pleasure, but in the end I would say that they are not really suitable for heavy daily use.

Good, but go with the SMX-2
I bought these to replace my aging SMX-2 gloves which I loved. I went with the SMX-3 this time instead of the 2 because it came in a mostly white (I got White/Black/Yellow) in an attempt to cut down on some of the heat from the sun while I am sitting still in traffic. To that end it does help, however one huge disappointment is that in between the fingers on my old 2’s was an open mesh material (I don’t know for sure that the new 2's still do), the 3’s are solid leather – not even perforated. In 115+ that makes a huge difference. I also like that the 2 has carbon fiber rather than foam but I made that concession going in as a trade for a light color. I would consider these gloves to be the bare minimum when it comes to protection.

I wish gear designers would think about the climates people deal with when they design these products, black is simply the worst color for a hot sunny climate, yet it seems that is all there is available.

Bottom Line:
I would have rated this “yes I recommend this product” because it is a good glove, except that I know that there is a better glove: the SMX-2. My recommendation is to spend the extra bucks now and get the 2; I’m probably going to replace these with a pair of 2’s shortly (read before they wear out) because the 2 is that much better.

If you do buy this (or the 2) when you first try them on you want them to be snug, verging on tight. If it feels too tight for comfort but does not cut of your circulation it is the right size because after about 2-3 rides everything will loosen up. If it fits comfortably at first it will be all loose and floppy when it breaks in.

Great summer riding gloves.
I like the hi viz yellow and white gloves. They have a lot of ventilation for the summer, although not much protection. They are a little small. I usually wear a medium, but I bought these in a medium and they leave marks on my hands from being so tight. Hopefully they break in a bit. Overall a good value.

The reason I choose these Alpinestar gloves was simple, The brand is well know for making quality items and by buying these affordable summer time gloves I knew that they wouldn't let me down. These gloves are mesh so it will provide a nice ventilation to your hand while riding. The velcro strap in the wrist allows the glove to be secured on your wrist. I bought the white and red version of the glove for two simple reasons: to stand out and to match my HJC-R2 helmet.

Great summer gloves, great quality and fit. Best glove for the price per feature. It frays when I dont strap it "correctly" and on my clutch hand but its also mesh. Nothing a quick pass of a lighter wont smooth out and make it look like new again!

My hand measures at 3 1/2 inches. Would it be best to go with the smaller or larger size? I do not want the glove to fit too tight.

Thanks
Samuel F on Mar 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I would recommend smaller as these gloves stretch. But buy something comfortable. You shouldn't feel a lot of pressure in the fingers and back of glove when you close your hand.
Do these work with touchscreen devices?
A shopper on Jul 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No, they do not work for me anyway. For me that was not a bad thing because I was more concerned about the protection. In order for them to work on a touchscreen, I would think that they would have to be be pretty thin.
Will you get more of these?
A C on Sep 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No I wouldn't get these again. To be fair, it's fine as a general purpose glove on the MTB, but there is no included armour. My Fox Bomber gloves with the carbon knuckles offers more protection at a similar price. I now only use these as my wet weather gloves when I don't want to get my leather gloves wet in the rain.
