Very Safe Feeling Jacket
First cycle jacket ever. After hours and hours of research I decided on this due to a few reasons:

1. Needed a jacket that wasn't too hot or too cool in the WI weather I live.
2. Must be able to upgrade a chest and back protector.
3. Must be good protection for a dual sport bike wipeout in dirt or pavement.
4. Mustn't be too bulky or too light.

--This jacket has the best of both worlds. Adjustable vents in the arms. Removable liners depending on the weather. I was warm in 80 degree weather but that's to be expected. Does well in 45 degrees but I wasn't going over 30mph so no idea if I'd freeze doing 60mph.

It's snug enough to feel protected but not at all baggy or bulky.
Most of all I feel safe when wearing it. It does fit a bit small especially with the chest/back protector upgrade although you do not want a loose jacket sliding all over the place if you wipe out. Once you have it on a few minutes it feels great. I really have no complaints about this jacket. Very happy.

If it helps anybody, I'm 5"9' 165lbs, athletic build. I purchased a medium size.

Definitely recommended for 3/3.5 seasons.
I bought the Alpinestars Megaton specifically for fall, winter, and spring, as I already own a mesh summer jacket. I paired it the Andes pants and Klim Inversion insulated gloves, also great products. The Megaton jacket is very well constructed (heavy) and feels like it offers good protection. It looks great too, but not over the top. So far I've ridden in the low 40's at highway speeds and the jacket offered good wind/cold protection (wearing a thin thermal long sleeve underneath). A little bit of wind/air makes it through the vents/zippers at speed and the neck collar, but not enough to make you chilly. I would say below 40 degrees you'll want to wear some heavier undergarments. I am 5'9" 170lbs, 32" waist, 41" chest and the large fits perfectly, if a tiny bit loose, good for wearing heavier thermals. Btw, not many stores carry the selection of gear revzilla has, so having these detailed video reviews was very helpful. Keep it up guys...

Very nice jacket for the money
I have had this jackit for weeks now and done a few hundred miles in it.

Style, yeah its got it, I got the white/back version and I have gotten more complements on it then I have any other jacket in the past.

Fit, yes it is a fuzz small I float between an L and an XL in alpinestars, got an XL fits perfect with both liners installed. it is a bit big with out liners but that is to be expected. not big enough to feel like it effects the protection factor.

Comfort, I can't speak to its all day comfort, but on my 25 min ride to work I don't feel restricted in the arms or shoulders, initially I noticed the collar was a bit more bulky then my last jacket but I didn't notice it after getting on the road. Doing highway speeds it does not flap around on arms or sides, the I had the collar pined back and I have no trouble with it staying put.

Venting, does a good job of keeping you cool, not as well as a mesh jacket, you can feel the air being sucked out along your back. I was out in mid 90's and I was as comfortable as you can be sitting on top of a motor with a jacket on in the heat.
With the liners in its warm, I'm excited to try it in cooler weather this fall.

Protection, arms and shoulders are what to be expected from stock CE rated armor, the back and chest that come in are complete garbage, toss them and get the upgrade, that being said the armor pockets for the chest and back are much improved over my last astars jacket, the pockets feel tighter, allowing less shift of the armor.

Features, Love the bicep adjuster, Tighten it down as tight or loose as you want to, easy to adjust on the move too. forearm snap I would like to see a third snap.
thumbs up for waterproof chest pocket.

Loved this jacket
I got this jacket a size too small and is it was my second jacket, I thought it was supposed to be that fitted. Besides my error, this jacket is great. It is definitely warm. I love the arm vents and the back vents as well. Venting to the body is definitely better than venting to the liner like with the Gunner. I recently downgraded to the Gunner as I couldn't afford this again, but needed something. I definitely recommend this for autumn weather.

Great Jacket
My daily commute to work takes me on the highway for about 15 miles each way and I ride in everything but ice and snow. I am 5'6" and 140 pounds and bought the jacket in a size Medium. The coldest weather I've worn the jacket in was about the mid 30's at highway speeds and was reasonably warm. I was able to fit a hoodie underneath it for one ride but it was a little snug around the neck and probably wouldn't try it for anything longer than the commute to work. Since I got it over the winter and haven't had a chance to ride in the heat, I can't talk about how well it vents.

Mostly great
I first have to say I love this jacket. I enjoy wearing it, and it fits me great on my bike and off my bike. When I first got it, it was really snug. I had ordered the bionic air back protector, but hadn't put it in yet. I was really concerned it was going to be too tight. I'm 6'1", 220lbs, and have a 46" chest. My jacket is a 2XL. Weird thing is it seems that while the jacket doesn't "stretch" per se, it does seem like it relaxed a bit because I now wear it very comfortably with the bionic air back protector, as well as the bionic chest protector.
The jacket flows more air than I would have thought. It's incredibly hot and humid lately where I am - 80's to 90's, and humidity is about 90% - and with just a tshirt on underneath, I'm very comfortable with liners removed. I haven't worn it yet with the quilted liner, but the rain liner works great - just keeps in the humidity too much. should be just fine in dryer climates.
My only gripe with this jacket, and why it didn't get five stars from me is because the velcro around the neck is pretty weak. the neck flap is practically useless, and I think it's held to the jacket merely by the wind pressure when I ride. The velcro inside that holds the chest armor in place is very weak as well. the chest armor falls out of place regularly, which is a little irritating.
Also, I own the blue/grey/red version, and it's definitely red. From the pictures it looks a little like orange, but it is not orange at all. And the blue is a bit more rich than the photo too.
But all in all, I like my jacket. I also wear it with the Valpariso pants by A*s, and you'd think they were made to match. Interfaces nicely with the waist zip on the pants.

Best All-In-One
First and foremost, this is my very first Motorcycle Jacket and I wanted something that was durable and able to used in different types of weather. I'm in California and it doesn't rain much here, so the ability to remove the waterproof liner was a huge plus. The thermal liner is removable also. There are plenty of vents, and the style is very nice. The non race cut was big for me, because I'm not slim, and having a stylish jacket without being tight on you is great. Bugs also wipe off pretty easily. I love this jacket.

Comfortable longer fitting jacket for every season.
I have only worn it in the winter months no wind penetrates. It has 3 layers which I pealed away to try on the jacket with each layer and it fits comfortable with any combination. I'm 150lb 5'6 pretty fit and the large fits snug and safe. Can't beat the price for a 3 in 1 jacket.

Excellent 3-season jacket favoring Winter
Just rode through a day in the high 30's wearing this with all of the liners in, and it felt very comfortable. The hotter months were bearable but a separate summer jacket makes more sense.

Excellent fit, the sizing was spot on, it looks great, and the armor stays in the right spots. The liners are intuitive and not too much of a hassle. 100% waterproof. I'm tall (6'2") and I was able to zip this to the Alpinestars Andes pants without any discomfort. I would definitely purchase this again.

Great All Weather Jacket
I am a new rider and this is my first motorcycle jacket, so i have nothing to compare it to, but I've been wearing it for quite a while now and its pretty comfortable. Also the the waterproof liner and the thermal liner are a great advantage, but I have only used the waterproof twice and it insulates the wind pretty well. I did not get to use the thermal liner yet but maybe I'll update this when the winter comes.

Fit and function. I needed a jacket for every season and the tight fit is not my style. I like traditional cruiser jackets.

I ordered this jacket one size larger. (L - XL) I had ordered originally as a Large but found that if was a bit small. I'm a 42R (American size) and the large is targeted a little smaller than that size.

It's a 4 season waterproof jacket that looks amazing in black/white/red. Touring features with sport looks are exactly what I wanted.

Direct body venting coupled with waterproof baked in and a little longer length. Summers don't get too hot here in Washington, so this should hopefully stretch deep into summer for me.

Is the thermal liner full sleeved? Is the waterproof liner full sleeved?
Pounrajan Clement L on Sep 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Both are full sleeved. However, they are not the same length in the torso area. They are about 2-3 inches shorter so do not expect to wear these independent from the jacket.
How does the sizing compare to the Gunner WP? I bought a 2XL gunner which fit without the liner but left no room for layering with the liner on. If I switch to this jacket should I go up to a 3XL? Will removing 1 or more of the liners provide sufficient room in 2XL?

I am 6ft 4in, 240lbs for reference.

Thanks
George S on Apr 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I would definitely recommend going up from the 2xl. I don't have the gunner, but I do have the Megaton in a 2xl. It is snug on me now with all the armor - chest and back - but not too snug. I'd say it's a perfect fit for me. I'm 6'1", 230. I haven't measured my chest in a while, but normally I wear a 46 L in sport/suit coats. It sound like you might be a bit bigger than me, and I feel like if I wa any larger it would start to feel uncomfortable with all the lining, etc...
Chest: 97cm
Waist: 82
Height: 180
Arm: 62

I fall into different sizes for each measurement. Which one takes priority?
Dan W on Apr 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Good question, I have little experience with jackets but I do know when I purchased mine I fit into the category for a size medium and my measurements were all with in that size I received the jacket and and it was too small for me. So if I were you I would get which ever size the largest measurement is and maybe consider going up a size. I cannot guarantee it will be a perfect fit but if it is too small or large revzilla has amazing customer service and should be able to switch sizes out if it is the wrong size. Hope this helped.
How do you wash these kind of jackets? Can you wash any of the inner parts (liners or something) as well?
A shopper on May 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would imagine you could wash the inner liner in a washing machine but I am not sure. Technically, the jacket has instructions to hand wash, air dry.
How many grams of insulation are in the thermal liner?

Trying to decide between this and the a* bogota... Opinions?
A shopper on Jul 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have no idea how many grams there are, but I can tell you with the liner in it is really warm. Have worn it with only a polo shirt on several mornings with temps in the 40's and have been comfortable. With the liners out I have worn it when it is 80 with the vents open and am also comfortable. It's a great jacket.
I noticed the zipper for the pants is located on the rain liner? Can you confirm this? I would rather it be sewn on the jacket itself. Is this a good replacement for the DS Space jacket? I've had mine of six years and now it doesn't stop the rain anymore.

Thanks

Vince
A shopper on Oct 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Looks like there's a zipper on both the liner, and the jacket itself. I haven't been in any serious rain wearing it yet but it has held up great in hot, cold, and some light drizzle.
