Alpinestars GP Plus Leather Pants (Size 44 46 Only) 4.3 5 29 29
Fit is too small Even after measuring, the fit is WAY TOO SMALL, not even close to fitting. These pants are really not worth the effort. June 9, 2015
Awesome pants!! Just one minor issue. I bought the GP pants to go along with my Alpinestars smx plus boots. The pants work tremendously well with the boots and feel great with riding. The knee cushion and padding rubs on the top of my knee a little much. But I haven't completely broken them in yet and compression shorts would resolve that issue I believe. Over all they are amazing pants they breath fairly well and have extremely good movability. June 8, 2015
Great pants to go with my Celer jacket I purchased these to use with my A*'s celer jacket as a second 2 piece suit. I was worried about the sizing as I have a size 48 Motegi 2 piece suit and the pants are slightly short in the thigh length. However, the GP plus pants seem to be cut slightly different as the size 48 seems to be a bit tighter in the waist but looser in the knee circumference. Also, the thigh length seems to fit me better. These still need to break in but it should get more comfortable. The mesh in the pant cuffs are very comfortable in my sidi vortice boots. The stretch panel in the back seems to flow air well, so it should help with cooling even with out perforated leather. I am once again happy with another piece of A*s gear. June 3, 2015
Great value and I don't think I had to sacrifice on quality. I caught these on sale, so I got a great deal. They seem like they are high quality and inspire confidence, but I haven't raced in them yet. I am 5'7" and about 140; 30 inch waist. I wear 30/30 levis. I bought a pair in size 48,but they were too large and I exchanged them for a size 46. The fit is much better. I bought these with the intent of ordering a zipper from Alpinestars as a replacement for the zipper on my Dianese jacket to connect the two as a race suit. The pants came with both sides of the zipper to connect to the top of a two-piece race suit. I didn't have to order a new zipper. This made things easier. After a trip to the tailor they fit together fine. I am just trying to get to the track, so style wasn't a concern for me. They look the part. May 18, 2015
Good Leather Pants It is a good leather pants for the price, with a good materials, apparently with well built. If you need security for your trip and you aren´t a radical rider it will work well for you. April 7, 2015
To leather or not to leather. The size chart was right on the money with these pants! Im a small human and the regular cut falls right above the ankle on a 5'8" male. As you know, you want a tight fit to avoid floating armor or friction from leather sliding across your bum. That and leather will stretch a wee bit. They get good airflow, but that might be the responsibility of my boots pushing air through them and I wear under armor with wicking. They smell good... Get them now while supplies last! Close out means you spend money now to save it later. Cheers literate browsers. April 6, 2015
Excellent quality, great fit, awesome to ride in! I initially ordered the size that I would normally wear, and as per the size guide, when delivered it was very clear that I required the next size up. Now I have the correct size, these pants are awesome, the fit is firm enough they don't move around on you, yet flexible enough that you can move around on the bike unrescited. The pants are so well made that I will be spending some of my hard earned cash on an Alpinestars jacket to match them. March 9, 2015
Good quality leather pants Runs slightly small even at 2 sizes up from my normal pants size. Good construction and zips up with two of my A* leather jackets. March 9, 2015

Ryan S: I chose these pants for the quality and added protection. So far these pants have been great, the've held up fine in a low-side incident with some scrapes but the leather was not torn or frayed. The puck on my right leg was scraped but I guess that simply matches my left puck now anyway! The material on the inner leg/thigh area is very breathable and durable so far. I've owned the pants for about six months and no complaints, they break in very well. Mar 4, 2015

A shopper asked: What are the main features that separate these two pants? On the surface they seem to be almost the same, with the same key features. Dec 7, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
RevZilla: Both pants are good options for street and track riding. The Track Leather Pants are available in one length per size, and include more perforation, Kevlar stretch panels, calf expansion zippers, and increased flexibility in a tuck via the rear upper accordion stretch panel. The GP Plus Leather Pants have fewer logos and are available in short, regular, and tall lengths, but do not the perforation or extra expansion and stretch of the Track Leather Pants. Dec 10, 2012

Bernadette G asked: Measurements: Male, 31 in waist, 29.5 in inseam, 5'9" height. Will I fit better in 46 short or 46 regular pants? May 26, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Paul W: Hi,

I am 5' 10" 160lbs with a 31" waist and I had to order the size 50 (I ordered the 48 first because I had heard they ran small and it was just too tight omn the waist). So I think looking at 46 anything will be wrong for you. I think the 50 regular would be the way to go for you.

May 26, 2015

Andrew M B: Well I am almost identical in size and I can tell you the 46 short will be way too small. I have size 50 in regular and the fit is perfect. I tried the 46 and could not even fit into them. These are VERY small in their sizing. May 27, 2015

Randy M: I'm 5 ' 11 and I bought the regular pants they fit well in length and wouldn't recommend getting the short because I would also be happy if they were 1 or 2 inches longer. Hope this helps May 26, 2015

Jorge D asked: Will these leather pants break in and stretch a bit.? The 48 short I just got fits me very snug. Not unbearable, but not very comfortable either. Mar 11, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
vladislav c: All leather pants stretch, including these ones. If they are not unbearable but tight that means you chosen the right size. because it much worse in case the pants become bigger than you need and you have to look some one who is able to modify them. just give them some time. Daniel P: Not much, ive been to 7 track days and several canyon runs in these and only a little bit of stretch, id probably get it slightly larger if its uncomfortable. Mar 11, 2015

Alfonso T asked: I'm 6'2" and i normally wear a 38W 34L in pants. Looks like the A-stars 44 should be my size. Should i get the regular 44 or the 44 tall? Jun 11, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Marc W: Alfonso,
Judging by your waist measurement of 38, you seem to be looking at the Euro 54 / US 44 / XL size. i would warn you that the sizes in the drop down menu are the Euro sizes so if you ordered a 44, it would be a 28 inch waist. So you are most likely looking at a 54 not a 44. I am 5'11" with a 37 inch waist (around the bellybutton) and I bought the 54. You might consider the 56 as these run snug around the waist. Hope this helps.

Alfonso T: Marc,
Thanks a million you just saved me from having to do an exchange. I almost ordered the European 44 instead of the US 44. I think i will go one size larger. I appreciate the help. Keep the rubber side down brother!! Jun 12, 2014
Jeffrey F: I am 5'11" and 175 lbs and I purchased size 36US standard length which is one size larger than my blue jeans. When I first tried them on, I thought they were way too small in the waist. I could barely get them zipped. So I ordered a size 38. The 38 fit better in the waist but the kneepads were below my knees. I ended up sending the 38's back and keeping the 36's. I recommend that you get one size bigger than you normally wear and be prepared to wear them around the house to break them in. Great pants and very comfortable once you get them stretched out a bit. Not sure about the tall sizes but you can always send one pair back if you get it wrong. Revzilla is great about returns. Jun 12, 2014

Tim S: Hi, I don't know if I will be of much help but I'm 5'3" about 130lbs. I usually wear 30W 30L pants. I have a 30inch inseam. I bought the Euro Size 48 (USA 38) short version. It fits a little snug but after broken in it feels fine. I think the waist was a little tight but probably because of my belly fat, still not a problem for me. Very comfortable Jun 14, 2014

Roger G: I would get the regular 44 in my opinion. Jun 12, 2014
Reply to Roger Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Jeffrey P asked: If I paired these with the GP Plus R Perforated, do you think I will be allowed to wear them together on a track day for Sportbike Track Time in the US?

I want to invest in quality gear but the fact that I won't be doing track days that often, I figure it would be a good investment if I get something I can use on and off the track.
Jun 30, 2015

Tim S: Yes, it will work for track day. The GP Plus R Perforated is full leather and zips to these pants, which are also full leather. I did this with Precision Track Days in California, not sure about Sportbike Track Time rules though. Jun 30, 2015

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Vin S: I'm about the same size as you mate. I wear size 31-32 pants.30 is too small and 32 is too big. (Thanks to the sixpack abs lol). I got the size 50 regular and it fits perfect. Pretty sure I got recommended this size from one of the boys at revzilla. I think the best bet is to use the sizing chart and measure yourself. Great pants too! Zips perfect onto my Alpinestars tech 1R jacket. May 26, 2015

Kirk Y: Definitely buy the 46 regular! I have 46 regular! I'm 5"8 and 170lbs with a 32" waist and 30" inseam. They fit like a glove. May 26, 2015

A S asked: Is this ideal for summer riding? Or would it be better to go with the track series pant? I want leather with peroration and whichever alpine stars pants can give me that is the one I'm getting. I think I'll stay away from textile...unless my mind changes. I need it for the summer and I can add for gear for winter riding I love in Utah... Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! May 19, 2015

James S: I wear mine with the A* base layer underneath all summer long. Stays nice and cool. But it is black leather. I live in the north east where it can get pretty humid in the summer months but the combo I mentioned works well for me. May 19, 2015

A shopper asked: Hi I'm a waist size 32 U.S and I'm 175cm tall. Size euro 48 seems like the right fit for me but do I get short or reg length?

Feb 1, 2015
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Tim S: I would go with regular length. I am 5'4" (162cm) tall and I have the short version. It barely reaches my ankles but tucks in my boot just fine. Also depends, are you tall because of long legs or torso?

Also my waist is size US 30-31 and it fits a little tight around my waist so I want to say it almost runs slightly small.

Chad B: I'm 5'5" and wear the same size jeans. I ordered the short ones, and they fit down into my touring style boots just fine. If I had full track boots they'd be perfect. The main thing is I feel like the armor sits on my knees correctly when on the bike. I haven't tried a regular length pair, so can't comment on that. Hope that helps! Mar 6, 2014

Andrew V: I would say regular... I'm just under 5'6' and 32 waist I have the short version. These pants end up 5cm from the top of my ankle bone...

There should be a measurement for the length of the pants, that should help you.

Jonathan R asked: So, I am 6Ft 1inch(185.4cm). Does the Long version just add an inch at the bottom? I am thinking if I have race boots that it will cover the shorter length anyway? If i don't get a long version will it mess up the protection in knees or anywhere else? or will the regular version end up riding above race boots at my height? Feb 18, 2015

Randy M: Jonathan, in my opinion you should get the long version. I am 6ft myself and i would be happier with the long version. At times when I'm pushing my comfort zone I have noticed they do ride up some but not completely out of my boots, but no problems anywhere else. I highly recommend these pants and will purchase again as needed. Hope this helps. Mar 5, 2015

A shopper asked: Hi, does this pant fit like the bat model? Cause I don't have the chance to try it on, but once I tried a size 50 of the alpinestars bat model and it was better than the 52 (too loose). Does the gp plus break a little bit? I'm 1.79 cm and 84 kg. May 21, 2014

Mick O: Hi,

I am 184cm & 78kg. I have size 50 bat pant which took a lot of breaking in but are now a good fit. The size 52 gp plus pant that I have is snug fit around the waist but a bit too loose around the legs.
Hope this helps.

A shopper asked: what means "s" en size, compared with "t" or normal, what is the difference in inseam Aug 30, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
RevZilla: The difference in seam lengths between the Short and Tall sizes will vary 1.5"-1.75" in either direction depending on size.

In other words the "S" or Short inseam will be approximately 1.5"-1.75" shorter than the Normal inseam length, where as the "T" or Tall inseam will be approximately 1.5"-1.75" longer than the Normal inseam length.

Again, this is dependent on waist size as the larger waist sizes will have a longer inseam, and the smaller waist sizes will have a shorter inseam length accordingly.

A shopper asked: I have an Alpinestars jacket and would love to have compatible leather overpants to use the zip (rather than getting some Icon Automags or similar). Is it possible to up-size these to accommodate a pair of jeans underneath? What would be the appropriate up-size for a typical 32x32 jeans size? Jul 26, 2012

Triumph3: Leathers with armor are ment to have not jeans underneath, they are supposed to fit very tight to keep the armor in place during an "event". I would suggest looking at a textile overpant if you want to wear jeans underneath. Oct 25, 2012

Chris K: The waist size would stay the same as standard 44 (29 7/8), while the inseam will be about 1.5-2.0 inches shorter (28.0-28.5). Dec 22, 2011

A shopper asked: I'm looking at the Alpinestars gp plus leather pants. I'm about 5'6" and wear jeans and khakis with a 32-33 waist. I'd imagine the euro size 50 would be what I'd want to try. I wear Alpinestars SMX-Plus boots on my bike at all times, so these would be worn along with them and an old TZ-1 leather jacket. I see you guys only have the size 50 left in the "short" sizes, would these be ok for my height? Jan 8, 2015

Miguel M asked: I was thinking about picking up a Scorpion Clutch jacket to go with these pants. The idea is to use them both for light track days and slightly colder days in Texas (yeah like 4 days out of the year). The Clutch has a 360 zipper...will this work with the Alpine pants? because the SJ2 (Scorpion) only goes half way at the waist...AND I REALLY dont want to have to run the track with tape all around my waist. evan h asked: While trying to find a 54-short size for this GP Plus Pant (out of stock everywhere), I learned that Alpinstars is discontinuing this line. Are they planning a replacement? If so, when? I would like to buy a track pant to go with my Astars track jacket before the season begins and am hesitant to fork over $400 for a dated, ill-fitting 54R. What would you recommend? Apr 22, 2014
