I got the Large and it fits great in my SM A-stars T-GP-R Air.
Based on that, I'm pretty sure any size should be compatible, so just have a friend measure your back and judge based on how low you want the protection to go.

I bought this back protector for my rc-1 2 piece suit. I must say this back protector is awesome. The fit into my suit was perfect I order a medium and have a 52 euro 42 us suit. As for the comfort and design well I find myself smiling when I ride down the rode with this suit on now. My other suit is the rev it ignition with the Knox CE protector which is no where near a comfy. My bike is a 2011 ZX10R.

The back protector works great. Just make sure that you buy a large. I wear a 54 and the medium sits at about the middle of my back. It has a lot more flexibility and breathability than i thought. If you are wondering about the size. I am 6ft and weigh 165-170

This is a quality back protector as noted in the other reviews, however, the sizing doesn't make sense. I have a small P1 jacket and bought a small back protector assuming that would be the fit. Wrong. The foam pad is a full 2-3 inches taller than the small back protector and the room on the sides means the protector moves around all over the place.
Alpinestars sizing chart told me small was the right size. They were wrong.

I debated between this and the Bionic Air protector but decided at half the price, it wan't worth it when this offers the same level of protection.
I bought this for my (new model) Verona and GP-R jackets and while it fits very snugly and securely in the Verona, it's not quite the same for the GP-R. It's held in place well enough that I'm not worried about the protection but there is some space around the velcro that holds it in place where it gets some movement.
Well worth the money and piece of mind.

I put this protection in the Durban jacket and instantly noted the improvement. It can be felt in the jacket, but in a way that instills confidence rather than discomfort. It is a much improved protector over the standard foam insert.

I do not like the look of the quality of the back protector that is recommended for the Verona, and I was hoping that this one would work in its place.

Please let me know if this will work, and what size (sm, med. Lg) for a size XL Verona jacket.

Thanks

The Factory Foam piece is more of a place-holder for an upgraded back protector. It is meant to be removed upon inserting something more heavy duty.

I just put mine in outside the foam i.e. foam closer to my back, for a bit of added comfort and protection. It still fits snugly, and bulks the jacket out a bit too. I doubt leaving the foam in or out will make much difference if you prang

I guess it really depends on the type of jacket you've got and how thick the foam piece is and how much room you've got. I tried doing just that with my Shift jacket and both of them just wouldn't fit inside the sleeve for the armor.

Thanks for the replies everybody.

However...
Upon inserting this back protector into my Tech 1-R jacket, I realized that it flops around unless the factory foam piece is in there with it. It adds a little more bulk, but it is totally manageable. It just doesn't feel right on its own.

Thanks.

Answer:
I guess if the foam piece AND the SAS Tec piece both fit in your slot in your jacket it's probably not a horrible idea to use both. I would think this would get really uncomfortable and would restrict air flow. The sas tec armor manufactured and tested to withstand the hardest impacts by itself, so it's not necessary to use both. Also, the sas tec piece is much more flexible and body conforming then the foam, so the foam might restrict you from getting the full perks of having this armor.

I wear an extra large and went with the large bio armor. The fit was good, with some space to spare. The large will probably fit snug for a medium. It may also make the armpit area feel a little tight. I would go with the medium. Hope this helps.
