AFX FX-39 Dual Sport Hi-Viz Helmet
Good all around helmet for the price
All around good helmet, very loud at high speeds even with the vents closed. Relitively well made, for the price as a beginner it is a good for me.

Easiest helmet to put on EVER
I can buckle this helmet with gloves on. I can't tell you how huge that is. No frustrated fumbling. The half open visor setting is useless though, it cuts right through your line of sight. It fit my head perfectly, without squeezing my cheeks or giving me a headache. I would definitely recommend this helmet.

Slight scratches, cheap vent sliders..otherwise RZ and helmet is great.
I bought a medium white AFX FX-39 and it shipped refreshingly fast. I followed the sizing chart but the medium was just barely too big..no big deal..just sent it back and ordered a small. Small arrived just as fast, return was processed quickly..all great.
The vent sliders on the top are tough to deal with, I wasn't sure if they were going to break before they closed but they did close...they just felt like they were going to break. Also, I must have received one that was returned from another customer...because there were black scratches around the screw that removes the visor, likely from the "previous owner" hastily removing the visor with the black plastic tool. I'm not too picky, so I let it fly. Also I just didn't want to return it again.

A little noisy and heavy, but great value for the money. Super comfortable and visibility is good.

Great choice st this price
I'm just getting back into motorcycles. I bought a KLR650 after a 15 year absence from off road riding. I started out using my ancient Moto 4 and my son's modular helmet and I chose this helmet after my research and I bought it in Hi viz yellow. So, those are the only ones I can compare it to. I used the AFX website for fitment measurement and the size is perfect for me. This helmet is a lot more quite than those 2, fit was better, and I like the visor better than goggles for the street, visibility is great. Can't beat the looks and it doesn't feel heavy. Ventilation?, well you don't feel wind in your hair, but it is pretty cool. Protection?, well it's not a Bell or Aria, but it is DOT approved, so I trust that. Overall, I'm really pleased with the helmet and feel you can't go wrong with it at this price point.

Very good helmet, bugs will sometimes give you heart attacks
It's an awesome helmet considering the price. Looks amazing and and has a ton of air flow. However, it can get very loud at higher speeds. Mirrored visor is a pain to put on (looks great though). Also, I had a bee get into my helmet and slam into my cheek at high speed; I had a half-dead bee freak out in my helmet which, in turn, made me freak out. I still confused as to how to got in there, but be warned that creepy crawlies may choose your FX-39 as their resting place. Aside from that, great helmet!

Best helmet I own !
This is one of those great gear that falls within such a reasonable price level, that you wonder why one would pay 5 times the price for not even 1.25 times the form & function.
I had been looking for a D/S helmet at my local motorcycle shops and since there didn't seem to be a high demand on that type of helmet around my area, they only carried reknowned brands which ended up being more than twice the budget I was looking to spend.
The AFX FX-39 helmet ordered at Revzilla ended up costing half my budget !
The design is amazing for the price. Has ample air flow, entry & exit, excellent finish quality, not louder than my previous helmets (older baseline Shoei & Arai) and suprisingly comfortable for the price.
Like any new helmet, there is always an adaptation period but this is such an upgrade from my other helmets that it quickly became my favorite.
Ordering online was not an easy decision to take, especially when my Medium (57-58) Shoei fitted me on the loose side whereas my Large (59-60) Arai fitted me more on the snug side ! After reading other post, I learned that there is two distinct shell size for the FX-39: one for up to medium and the other for large and up. So if like me, you're toying between these two sizes, due to step between two shells, ordering online without trying the helmet on can be a huge risk.
But the attraction to the price online for this model compared to the expensive Shoei or Arai D/S helmet, made me take on that risk and so I trusted the size chart for the FX-39: I went for a medium (58-59) and it ends up being a bit more snug than loose, but since it is brand new, I'm sure I will get rid of the very few pressure points within a dozen riding hours. In my case, I believe Large would have been a mistake.
Dual Sport motorcycling is just one of the many activities and sport I regularly indulge in so I am truly happy to have found such an amazing product permitting me to fill the proper form & function while keeping the budget for this one well balanced.

Excellent value for price
Great helmet for the price, only problem is standard lense fogs up easily bellow 45 degrees F. Would recommend the cold weather anti fog lense if doing cold ridding.
