AWESOME - GREAT BUY
First Helmet
Helmet looks as it does in the photo. On the road color really pops - people always say cool things about it
Vision is pretty wide, quick release strap.

IMPORTANT!!!
My head/hat size is 7 3/8 so Im in btwn Med/ Large. Few ppl have said go large but I went with Medium and it fits like a beauty. Took the cheek pads and stuck them in btwn books for an even better fit when slipping helmet on and off.
Cant say much on noise level and air flow bcuz its a first helmet but I can hear traffic and people just fine (NYC) Not hot out yet but my head is never sweaty etc.
Top vents were a bit cheap and the lock jammed but helmet isnt expensive so who cares. No rain in the vent worries either.

Great value... expected a lot less
Bought this as an entry-level helmet for dual sport/adventure riding, and it is far better than I expected at the price. Fit is good (pretty much the same as my Shoei RF1000). Weather sucks, so haven't been able to do a field test yet (hence the "middle of the road" ratings for noise level and air flow).

Overall very impressed. Was expecting a lot less for the price. It isn't a Shoei or an Arai... but it costs about the same as a set of cheek pads for one of those, so no complaints here!

Good fit, good ventilation, great clarity, High-Vis!
A tremendous value for the money, with good airflow and a visor so clear I keep checking to see that it's there, and holy smokes, is it bright.
With a 59 cm head measurement I first tried a Medium, which was way too small. Exchanged for a Large (Revzilla was so easy to deal with) and the fit is great; initially snug and perfect after a couple uses.
No off road use, yet; tried it so far on a naked bike and a V Strom with windshield.
I need some anti-fog help; I'll be trying a Fog City shield. Got some drips on the inside of the visor this morning in a drizzle, the gasket at the top of the eye port is a little distorted on mine and doesn't seal perfectly, most may be fine.
A bit more wind noise than I expected, but it's not an issue with the earplugs I should be wearing anyway.

I'm very happy with the helmet and Revzilla.

Good Valus in a DS helmet
For the price point this helmet is a good deal. I found them to size smaller than other helmets. I routinely take a large but the size guide said I should fit squarely in a medium. So I ordered the medium. Well it was very tight in fact my nose hit the front of the helmet. Luckily Revzilla's excellent CS exchanged the helmet without issue. The large fits much better. My guess is the shell size must change between Med and large. Over all its comfortable once you have it on a while and the pads break in. I like the ratchet chin strap. Cons are its a PIA to take the shield off and clean it....top vents are hard to find while riding...that may get easier with use. Overall I'm happy with it considering the price. You NOT getting Arai XD4 so don't expect that.

Nice lid for the money.
after reading many reviews on this helmet, went ahead with the purchase. shipping was super fast, so i had it the next day. first thing out of the box, scraped my nose on the breath guard. man is that thing close. a little work with an exacto blade and it is no longer a problem. the strap fits a bit far back as most have stated, but i stopped noticing after a week. like the ventilation on my bald head when it is hot, so that alone was worth the price of admission. I also like the viewing angles, much better than full face for side views in traffic. there is a little noise from the vent locks at high speeds and you will get jerked a bit looking to the side when the visor catches the wind. one more thing besides the nose piece was that one of the front vent controls broke a week into use. haven't done anything with it yet, but seemed a bit weak. overall for the money, it is a nice helmet for summer riding and I love the bright yellow color.

Great choice st this price
I'm just getting back into motorcycles. I bought a KLR650 after a 15 year absence from off road riding. I started out using my ancient Moto 4 and my son's modular helmet and I chose this helmet after my research and I bought it in Hi viz yellow. So, those are the only ones I can compare it to. I used the AFX website for fitment measurement and the size is perfect for me. This helmet is a lot more quite than those 2, fit was better, and I like the visor better than goggles for the street, visibility is great. Can't beat the looks and it doesn't feel heavy. Ventilation?, well you don't feel wind in your hair, but it is pretty cool. Protection?, well it's not a Bell or Aria, but it is DOT approved, so I trust that. Overall, I'm really pleased with the helmet and feel you can't go wrong with it at this price point.

Good hot weather Helmet
Good lord this helmet moves the air. 90º + and still very comfortable. Nice fit and very good vision. I purchased the optional smoke face shield and works fine but swapping face shields is a bit of a pain. Since my purchase 2 weeks ago I have no desire to wear my other helmets, both of which cost much more than the AFX. There is virtually no visor lift at 70-80 MPH. My only qubble is that this helmet is noisy, which is to be expected with the very good air flow. A fair trade off.

Best helmet I've owned
I have owned four helmets:
-HJC CL-16
-Bell Revolver
-AFX FX-19
-AFX FX-39

Here are the features I really like about the FX-39:
-Zip-buckle fastening system. Much easier and quicker than the D-Rings, especially when you're wearing gloves
-Super wide vision and comfortable ventilation. Doesn't feel foggy or swampy in the helmet, and I can see really well.
-Bright color
-Comfortable, breathable padding
-It looks great!
-Low low price

This is a great helmet if you want to explore a dual-sport helmet style, and it's a really good value. I highly recommend it.

Excellent Hybrid Lid
Having been burnt on a Joe Rocket Hybrid that was just a bit too big, this AFX fits like it should..
The only thing that's a bit weird is the void around the ears. I'm used to some sort of pressure against my ears when I wear a helmet, and with this there's nothing.. Not a problem, just different.

Alfredo D on Apr 2, 2015
I like how it fits, low noise and good protection. Held up great in a get off after hitting a deer at 50 mph and sliding down a gravel road.

It seemed like a good choice. But, the noise from the wind is very loud!!
Got a HJC instead.. Much less noise!!

Safety was my first concern - features, fit and function were also major factors. Bang for the buck sealed the deal. 2013 Super Tenere rider.

Needed an Adventure style helmet. This helmet received a glowing review from Anthony and he was spot on. Helmet fits great, has an optically correct faceshield with an expansive field of vision. The helmet also feels very light compared to my previous helmet. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a Dual Sport helmet.

i have two questions. can i get double paned face-shields, and do all the vents close up? i ride in cold weather as much as i do in hot and staying warm in winter is as important to me as staying cool in summer.
Spencer D on Aug 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure on the double-paned face shields but all the vents do close up. This helmet does not have a 'chin skirt' or whatever you call it to keep air from coming in near the mouth piece, but I just wear something around my neck in cold weather. Good helmet but somewhat loud for me.
I've seen a couple of pictures around online, some make it look like the bright neon, and other make it look like a plain yellow.
A shopper on Oct 23, 2012
BEST ANSWER: It's yellow alright. not a neon flourecent thats seems to shine from its own but a strong and bright yellow.
I've measured around the ol' noggin, and it looks like I'm between a SM and M based on the size charts. I have a Shoei RF1000 (small) which fits like a glove - is this the same "intermediate oval" shape as the old Shoei?
A shopper on Dec 11, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I have a Shoei which fits in Large so I ordered a AFX Large - It was too big. Right now I have a Medium and it was tight when I got it but it has broken in and fits fine now. Decent helmet. Great for the money.
I've seen it listed as ECE certified on other sites, and when I filter for ECE certified this helmet comes up on revzilla as well. But it is not listed on the specs as such.
A shopper on Apr 14, 2013
BEST ANSWER: From AFX's website:

This helmet model meets or exceeds both ECE 22.05 and DOT FMVSS-218 motorcycle helmet safety standards. Please Note: Only ECE approved helmets purchased from European importers carry the ECE certification markings. This is due to ECE regulations.
I cannot abide the Shoei Hornet's visor screws snapping off any longer. They cost $10 a set and eventually the attachment point gets buggered digging the snapped end out.

Not having a Pinlock to fit this is really going make the decision hard here in Seattle though.
A shopper on Mar 9, 2012
BEST ANSWER: The visor screws are plastic and are generally designed to shear off in the event of a fall to preserve the (far more expensive) peak.
