AFX FX-39 Dual Sport Hi-Viz Helmet
This is a great helmet to get you noticed on the road and be protected!
This helmet is great value for money...mine has been dropped off my bike seat a few times and only has minor scuffs to the clearcoat which came right out with a little cutting compound on a polishing pad, it has a good size peak to cut the suns glare if you dont have a smoked visor fitted aswell, the vents are really good and keep your head and face cool...even in the heat we have here in Cayman! they are easily opened or closed while rolling down the road and you have two soft jets of air blowing on your face while riding, this helmet never once fogged up even in torrential rain ...just remember to close the roof vent if your moving slowly! the visibility with the supplied clear visor is awesome too! no contour bends or blind spots and sometimes its too good so i flip the dark visor down so people cant see my face ;) all in all i love this helmet and have and will continue to recommend it to anyone who cares to listen.......
The only problem i have now is that someone obviously thought my review of it was so good they had to have one...And STOLE mine off my bike today!!!!
Dear Revzilla...please can i have another! :(

I chose this helmet largely based on the reviews and Anthony's high regard for this helmet. My previous helmet was a GMAX GM54S modular helmet which I originally purchase for riding a V-Strom. I've swapped the bike and moved on to a Dual-Sport bike. As such the type of riding I do has changed from mostly tarmac to mostly to dirt roads and trails. While the GMAX really shined on nice smooth roads, it was clunky with a limited amount of vision when used off-road. That's where the FX-39 really shines. The helmet is extremely light by comparison and for the money. It has great ventilation and the vents are easily reached and operated while on the move. As it does not have a chin curtain, you go get more air infiltration at that point. When it's warmer out that's probably great but here in western Colorado, we're still topping out in the 40's. As mentioned by others, the chin strap entirely too long. I can't imagine what the human being would look like that needed a strap that long. If you want a great helmet for the $$, pull the trigger on this one.

Great price for great helmet
Not a lot of experience here. RZA's video was very helpful in my decision making. For the price this is a fantastic helmet and deal. Vents are easy to operate while gloved. Visor closes with a snug thunk. Size chart was on the spot. Great graphics too!

Great Helmet for the Money
Was looking for a fairly inexpensive helmet with all the features I needed. Especially good ventilation--this helmet provides all of that. Surprised I hadn't heard of this helmet before--

Over all a great product.
It is the only dual sport helmet that i have found that is true to size.Although I did have to make a minor mod. to the cheek pads, they were to thick. After that it was a perfect fit . I will stick with this brand of helmet from now on.

Great helmet for the money.
I see this as a great helmet for the value. Its by fay not the most comfortable helmet I own but for the price I'm very happy. Pros; great ventilation, good field of view & it fits true to size by (AFX sizing chart). I wear a 7 1/4" hat size and the medium fits perfect. Cons; padding is very thin and does little for comfort, quick release buckle (NOT a fan of) & it puts backwards pressure on my adamsapple, also the strap is a mile long but I just tuck it up the inside of the cheek padding. Keep in mind I am use to my $450 agv race helmet that feels like a pillow compared to this dual sport helmet. It holds a great value aka bang for the buck. Overall its a good value but I'd be a little happier if the padding wasn't lacking so and it wasn't so noisy. I have race helmets to dirtbike helmets and this thing does get the loudest over 50mph, hit 80mph for long and you're going to want ear plugs, which I don't like to use while on a bike. The 1st time I tried it on it reminded my of my downhill mountain bike helmet, not exactly what I was hoping for. Is it worth it? For the price and ventilation factor I say yes! FYI I was riding this both on road and off on my Honda XR650R.
